After a month of preparing based on community feedback, we had successfully launched the Creation Marathon 3: Recreated and finished it yesterday! Right exactly when the marathon started, Grayspence and I released the theme for group one to start brainstorming and creating! The theme was : Hero's Quest! "An adventure isn't an adventure without friends, danger, or a goal for the hero! Your theme this time is to make a level that captures the spirit of adventure and trials an aspiring hero would have to face on a quest! This could mean anything from having the player save a prince to giving the player some allies to help him on this way! Basically, if you've seen or read a classic adventure tale, you are using those as your basic design choices! Remember inspiration creations. not just basic ideas!" http://i.imgur.com/Vni4efR.png This awesome meme was made by Will_WBA1968! The Obstacles Ah projects, sometimes they don't go as planned since unexpected situations can occur - am I right? Unfortunately a series of unfortunate events (yes, I'm referencing the awesome movie) have bestowed on us. Unexpected events range from daylight savings time, missing people during their shift turn, level creating prevention glitches, sickness, family emergencies, unexpected vacations, and some more. I just want to put out there for the whole community to understand: yes, we had wild rides, yes some of us were stressed , and yes there was doubt occurring multiple times during the event and participants volunteering for going massive overtime. But guess what -- We did it! Even though we had to split the level into two so no time will be lost: no one gave up, volunteers came in - we all had a spark and that kept us going. Those who couldn't create due to constant freezes or were busy came back and generously gave their time to help seek this project complete. Overall almost everyone made their shift in time and the volunteers were AMAZING! The hours wasted due to situations were re-given and everyone who attended got a chance to participate -- one of the main goals of the marathon! A lot of people volunteered to also record some footage of the Creation Marathon experience and how we pulled through which will be posted here when the highlight videos are completed! Big, BIG hugs to those who stay over their shift time and covered more than one group last minute, even when some became sick, had family emergencies or even for going a full 12 hours! I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to move them, but Tendon has disappeared recently Dude he was playing TLoU earlier. But anyway, yeah. That level went through a lot of changes, and I'll be making a highlights video of us actually creating soon. My brother doesn't want me to use the footage of his first shift though (It's just the PS3 freezing 30 times, don't worry). I have 40gb of footage (12 hours, 6 minutes) so it may take a while to go through it all. If I'm not still exhausted tomorrow, I'll get a start on it then! It'll mostly show how the level went from being about teleporting all over the world to look for warriors, and using poop-cannons to what it is now.

I just thought I'd post what I said in the other thread here, just incase anyone missed it. you guys are amazing Well, we've all the setbacks and frustrations you all faced getting this out, I think that you all deserve a huge pat on the back. A lot of you suffered and some even felt a little sick, but in the end you all cared so much about the event that you pulled through and made it work out. I am seriously proud to be a host of this event, even if my help was limited due to connection issues. You guys are truly fantastic, dedicated and wonderful, and seeing all the positivity surrounding the release of the level has really helped to cheer me up and make me want to host another create marathon. (In a long while, of course!) Again, I seriously cannot thank you all enough for the amount of patience, endurance, and passion you have all put forward to make this event successful. Well there's a part with a circle made of attract-o-gel, and if you play the level you'll know exactly what part I'm talking about. Well the wall of attract-o-gel on the right side isn't glued, and if you grab it you can pull it down and make it land on the attract-o-circle. You can still beat the section without it though. I think it's pretty much guaranteed that a level made in 24 hours by 12/13/whatever amount of different people will be buggy. Try to find them all!
