Hot Pursuit! [Endless Racer Mini Game]

Archive: 8 posts

In this mini game you are on a motorcycle being chased by the police on an endless highway. Your goal is to avoid the police road blocks, spike strips, and also the oncoming traffic. If you crash though.. it's game over It has dynamic lighting and I hope I was successful in giving the player a sense of speed.

Try to survive the longest for the high score. You are able to jump the spike strips with the X button. Also the square button lets you perform a wheelie. I have also added some police radio chatter that I created on my pc. I hope you enjoy it! This level is a throw back to the old games on past consoles. Please rate and review.

Many thanks to Onepoppa and Atheistsw for suggestions and help!

Had a chance to play this over the weekend and it's very well done. Especially appreciated the radio chatter! One thing though: is it possible to make the jump button a little more responsive? I found that I needed to hit it almost a full half-second before I saw any action, and without any discernible lag.2013-07-29 15:30:00

I'll look into it and see if I can tweak it to be more responsive. Thanks for your comment!

I really like the additions you made to the finished version man, the jump and the wheelie are pretty cool elements, although what does the wheelie actually do? Anyway, I have to agree with Hiro that the jump needs to be more responsive, it's fine early on when you have chance to time your jumps beforehand, but later on it get's REALLY hectic and if anything the jump response seems to worsen with more stuff on screen.

A possible remedy would be to go into your 'Kart Handling' settings and increase the 'Hop Power' and possibly lower the gravity slightly as well? This will hopefully have the effect of making the jumps feel less 'sticky' and also give you the ability to leap about with a bit more freedom, which will be useful when the cops turn on their A-game!
