Inability to publish [some] levels

Archive: 7 posts

After working on a level (for a competition which ends in a couple of days) I found out that I cannot publish it. I can publish certain (virtually empty) levels, but I get an error message when trying to publish my finished level: "An error occurred while trying to publish your level, please try again later." I have tried later, resetting the console, logging in and out, and trying to overwrite it onto other levels... nothing seems to work! Please help me before the contest deadline (July 28th)2013-07-26 22:09:00

Have you tried this:
- Copy your own level on another moon spot
- Rename it (in case of some bad censorship happened)
- Publish the copy instead

If it doesn't work, another try:
- Copy your level as a backup (export)
- Delete it from your moon
- Import it from your backup on another spot never used previously
- Rename it, because, why not?
- Publish it

Also, how many levels have you already published? Maybe your planet is full (I'm not connected at the moment). If this is the case, try to erase an older level (one that you won't miss much...), and retry.

If it doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas.

My Moon is quite the opposite of full, I had some levels on it a while back (LBP1 levels) but I didn't like them. I tried everything you stated, copying, editing the description, name, icon, backing up and importing, (By the way, I don't know if it matters or not but my level is ~1.3 m) and none of it worked, I'm afraid. Thanks for the tips, though!!

Hi. Like Djibees says, it may be that you have too many levels published already, try deleting the least played (or favourite) one.
Maybe the level unintentionally contains something censorable (although unlikely i'm sure), but maybe just check wording or ideas if you know what i mean.
Is there anything missing you may have accidently deleted, entrances, exits, scoreboards, etc.

A thing you could check is your internet connection. Is it wireless or a low speed. If its wireless, maybe borrow a broadband cable and connect it directly to the ps3, it will increse upload/download speed and a better connection
I wish I I could help more.

I never got it working, but thankfully when I am working on a level I make TONS of extras, so it was just a matter of going back far enough to when it worked... I finished it virtually the same way the other was, so I have no clue what the problem was... but regardless, thank you for the helpful tips!2013-07-27 14:49:00

Are you using any tricks to get around the thermometer? I think once the level starts to exceed 1 MB in size you'll have trouble uploading it. I remember trying to upload a level that used the emitter trick and that seemed to be the filesize limit.2013-07-27 16:02:00

I didn't (purposefully) trick the thermometer, though I did have a lot of Sackbots animated to Act repeatedly. I made my level down to 400kb, and it still wouldn't upload, so I don't think that was the problem.2013-07-27 19:11:00
