Can you make followers follow players that aren't in a controllinator? (Solved)

EDIT: Nevermind, got it working. Made too many assumptions. I've made a race level that's heavily designed for one player, so I'm working on updating it with a spectator system for if multiple players join. Basically, it asks to choose the main player, and once the main player is chosen, it takes all other players and puts them in flying controllinators that I want to automatically follow the main player. So then one player could go through the level while the others watch. I can get the part with putting all the players except the main player into controllinators just fine. What I'm having trouble with is getting the spectators to follow the main player; what ends up happening is that sometimes the spectators end up following each other rather than the main player. Is there a way to detect which player isn't in a controllinator and follow that one? Sackbots are not an option because there's a grappling hook in this level. Thanks for the help. I'm not entirely sure why it worked, it just kind of... did. I did a few small tests that didn't work as intended, which led me to ask this question, and while I was waiting for a response I went on to implement the full thing. When I finished, it worked the way I had intended - I even tested with multiple controllers. I'm not really sure why. What I did was ask the main player to enter a controllinator. When they enter it, it counts how many other players there are and emits that many "spectator seats" (just sticker panel with a controllinator, with a follow nearest player chip and a little extra logic to fly to the last checkpoint if a player dies). The spectator seats have the controllinators set to auto-enter, so as soon as they're emitted, all the players besides the main player will teleport into them. Then after 0.1 seconds, the main player teleports to the beginning of the race. Again I don't know why it works, but I have a couple theories: - All the spectator seats are emitted in the exact same location, and all the other players are teleported to that location, so all that's really left to follow is the main player - The followers are placed in controllinators, so they will automatically follow sackpeople that aren't - Some weird combination of these two Sorry to not be much help By the way, if you want to check it out, the level is "Speed Runner's Paradise" in my signature. | 2013-07-27 21:48:00 Author: RabidJellyfish Posts: 130 |
