How do I make police lights alternate?
Archive: 8 posts
So I've made a police car and am trying to get the lights to alternate between the red and the blue. I thought I could use a selector with 2 ports and hook a timer up to the 'cycle' input, but when I do this it only does the cycle once then it stops. How do I get the alternating pattern to continue indefinitely? Thanks | 2013-07-25 20:47:00 Author: atheistsw Posts: 147 |
Wire the output of the timer to the timer's reset port. Alternatively if you want the lights to dimmer on and off just setup 2 timers, and set them to alternate with each other, one for blue light counting up, red light signal inverted, then wire both timers to each others reset port. <--(should work in theory, untested though) You would also want to do this without the selector since a timer hooked directly to a light acts as a dimmer switch rather then an on/off switch. | 2013-07-25 21:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thank you! It seems so simple when you think about it logically, but I'm such a noob when it comes to logic on this game... | 2013-07-25 21:33:00 Author: atheistsw Posts: 147 |
No Problem, I just happened to be experimenting with logic and lighting in my level when you asked....logic and lighting were a bit different in LBP2. And is it just me or does the logic in LBPK seem dumbed down ALOT from LBP2? like all the timer count direction variations are gone, etc.. | 2013-07-25 21:57:00 Author: Unknown User |
Your right, the logic is very basic compared to what's on LBP2, although I still struggle with geting my head round things I find I can fumble through with trial and error a bit more on this, on LBP2 I'd be stuck before I even begun! | 2013-07-25 22:05:00 Author: atheistsw Posts: 147 |
hehe I loved the logic in LBP2, if you've still got it, copy and check out my Club Kaos logic experiment. might give you some ideas. people said they could do it with alot less. But the intricacy is what they don't notice, everything is individually sequenced without a sequencer so that it's as close to true random sequence selection as you can possibly get, more like a real light show sequencer. So many ways to do things in these games! That's what I love. I myself used a sequencer with a battery connected to each light. | 2013-07-27 14:39:00 Author: Cdub0817 Posts: 47 |
you could try a sequencer with a battery and two toggles for each light and then set your speed were it looks good to you | 2013-08-07 22:41:00 Author: Unknown User |
