Rediscovering Something New

Hey LBPC folks!

I never had the change ever to play LBP on PSP. Sadly enough, this is the only LBP game I do not have and my collection remains incomplete. I tried the demo when it came out and it was fun, but I did not own any LBP game at that time. I rented LBP 1 and I enjoyed it and trying out the creating for the first time in the tutorials with my brother was funny since we could not make a decent monster to pass a tutorial section, haha.

I never experienced the story levels or met the curators/story characters. I never played any amazing levels from the community or any of that jazz.

I am kind of sad -but happy- because I still have a whole another LBP to experience without waiting to see if there is going to be a new one! However, I gave my PSP to my cousin and he is enjoying it.

I'm posting this because I want to know if there is LBP PSP on the SEN store as a download and if so, should I get it for the experience on my vita? Are there any trophies or nice costumes to collect? I also have a 4GB memory stick so I don't have a lot of space left.

What do you guys think?

I never learning about the magic of making LBP PSP work on the vita, BUT I specifically remember people talking about it back when the Vita came out, and I think we even mentioned something about it on the podcast. I can't remember who figured out how to do it, but I think Tom could probably point you in the right direction so you should probably contact him. Tell him I sent you and he'll give you an extra 10% off ;-)

BTW, there are some absolutely incredible levels on LBP PSP from creators like Jeffcu28, SalieriAAX, tsr13 (Taffey), it just goes on and on. Obviously you won't see sackbots and LBP2 tech on there , but some of the ideas for levels are just amazing!

I don't think there are trophies, but im sure there are nice costumes. I liked the materials and stuff on the PSP more than on any other LBP game (except LBP1 since that's where most of it's from).

The game's graphics are kind of bad, there's no decorations, only two layers, stuff corrupts a lot when you save it, and so on.

BUT... MY LEVELS ARE ON IT AND THEY ARE AMAZING SO GET PSP VERSION AND PLAY THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Thanks for the awesome advice, poo! I've heard of some pretty amazing levels on the PSP and I want to try them out badly as part of the experience. I will definitely check out those creators and queue those levels (including yours ) if I get a copy! Also, I will ask Tom about what he knows!

I see some of the concerns, Wouter1998. I will try my best not to look at it with my LBP 2 eyes and just having it as part of my collection gives me an awesome feeling! I will definitely check out your levels if I can get a hold of a copy!

Shucks. I was kind of in the same boat as you. I got my psp when psp was getting old, I still play on it occasionally but I decided to stop because noone really plays it anymore. Also, i still play other games on my psp, but LBP PSP kind of relied on its community to hold it up, and the community is kind of gone so, until I make my final decision about a Vita, i won't be playing LBP properly.

First post for PSP in a while! XD

I plan on returning to LBP PSP once this PSP emulator people are making can play LBP PSP on android. At the moment the game works alright, but it's a little sluggish on my phone and it has an issue with the savedata always corrupting.

I miss this game. I kind of can't play it on my PSP since my PSP's battery doesn't work properly, so it has to be plugged in while in use. Now, that wouldn't be too much of a problem, but my PSP's charging port doesn't like to work unless the charger is at a specific angle. That renders my PSP practically useless since I can't move it while playing.

Why am I even posting this.. It doesn't belong here.. Dx

But, yeah. The PSP has some amazing levels, and I'd recommend it to anybody who is wanting a new LBP experience. This game just has a feel that's a lot different from the other LBP games that makes it so great. Since the game isn't very complicated the bar isn't set very high on level quality, but that didn't stop some amazing creators from making masterpieces. It's incredible what they've done with this game.
