Help with disappearing tags

Archive: 4 posts

Hi, I am fairly new to forums, so forgive me if there is already a thread about this problem.
But when creating a level in LPB2, In my level, I have a key (tag) that I need to drag all the way through the level until I get to the end, but say my key gets crushed by an obstacle I created, and my key (tag) disappears, how would I get the key to reappear? I want it to reappear where I lost it.
Should I just leave it as a one-time-only key, and if it gets crushed you have to restart the level? I feel like maybe a reappearing key would make it too easy? If I decide to make one that reappears everytime I lose mine, how would I do it? I feel like it's really obvious, and I'm just not using my common sense lol.

you could have a piece of hologram or sticker panel that is set to not visible that follows the object around with an emitter on it. So put a microchip with a follower that is active when it sees the key (tag censor). if can not see the tag then use an anti-gravity with 100% damping to stop the momentum caused by the follower and trigger the emitter (you may want the signal to the emitter to keep flashing until the object is emitted, in other words be careful with your emitter settings because the object that initially destroyed the tagged object may still be in the way.)2013-07-19 21:37:00

Maybe putting in some kind of checkpoint system for the object, so if it gets destroyed the player will have to go back to the checkpoint and collect a new one. This would mean that a new object could always be emitted as the area around the checkpoint would be clear.2013-07-20 18:49:00
