I'm LittleBigPerson2

I love making levels. However, i've recently been disheartened, as i had hard drive corruption so i had to reformat and that didn't work, so i bought a new hard drive.

I had forgotten to backup my levels so the ones i had worked on for MONTHS had been lost. For a while i've been too scared to create anything big in case something goea wrong again, so lately i've been creating short, simple, yet fun levels.

I like creating. It takes my mind away from stressful things in my life, and helps me relax. Although I need help with one thing, guys. LANDSCAPE. I can create logic and scenarios, and i can create bright, simply coloured levels made out of cardboard with stickers on it, which look very gamey and LBP1ish, yet i struggle with making convincing landscapes such as hills and mountains and cities and tombs and temples etc.

So Hi y'all, i'll be pretty regular here from here on out

Welcome! Glad ya made it!

Landscapes can be better if you simply don't make one layer 3 layers thick and make it do all the work. Even without going into background layers, you can make a pretty interesting landscape by varying the 3 thick layers separately and use the thin for trees, bushes, houses and even distant mountains. Just as an example, here is a simple landscape I did for an LBPC Caption Contest set that might help show you what I mean. ..and that isn't even using any thin layers, though the moon is a thin layer I put back in the background layers to help it look more like the moon. (oh.. and part of the box has a thin layer)

Also, there are quite a few tutorials here on LBPC, just doing a search on landscapes might give you quite a bit of information.

Have fun!

Hi,

it's great you are here now

Welcome to LBPC

Just for the case, you don't know this:
You can backup your complete profile, which includes everything (your moon with the levels, your price bubbles, everything).
When being in your pod, use the "start" button of your controller and search for "backup profile". In the next step you can copy this profile from your system on a flash drive (usb stick)

Howdy and welcome to LBPC. So glad you joined. This is really a great place to be. It's an awesome place to make new friends, learn techniques and tricks and just to have a good time. To help you explore the site I'll provide a few links for you.

The Level Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?40-Level-Showcase) area is the place you want to go to make a thread about your level. We have an optional F4F (feedback for feedback) system where you tell others to check out your level, come back and give feedback/suggestions and you'll do the same for them. It's a valuable system that is underused here. Be sure to use the LBP.me tool (the white bell in a blue box icon) http://www.lbpcentral.com/images/lbpme.png this will pull your level info from LBP.me and place it in the thread for you. NOT WORKING RIGHT NOW
