Bethesda Fans: This if for YOU!

So you guys like Bethesda right? You love their game Fallout 3, right? I know I do.. Well it looks like they don't love us. Bethesda has said that it currently has no plans to release a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 allowing users to explore the game world following completion of the main quest. Users have voiced their complaint over the fact the game does not currently allow players to explore the environment after the main quest is finished, leaving all manner of side missions unresolved. Fortunately for PC and Xbox 360 owners this issue will soon be fixed with the arrival of downloadable content, though it appears PlayStation 3 owners will not be receiving the same treatment. When asked whether or not a post-ending patch will be made available for the PS3 version of popular RPG, Bethesda told MTV Multiplayer, ?Not at this time, no.? Source (http://www.psu.com/No-post-ending-PS3-patch-for-Fallout-3,-says-Bethesda--a0006243-p0.php) But this is typical of Bethesda, right? If you're a fan of Bethesda and you own a PS3, you've gotten used to this type of treatment, right? But, look on the bright side, Bethesda IS getting better on how they treat PS3 members. I mean, hey, at least we got a patch for this game, right? AND TROPHIES! So thanks Bethesda for being so generous! Thanks for caring enough about your PS3 customers that you are willing to spit in their direction! | 2009-01-27 02:58:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |

This is one of those cases where you hate the company, but love the product. Their games are probably my favorites, but I can't stand them. That's why I try to support them as little as possible. | 2009-01-27 04:27:00 Author: BassDeluxe Posts: 984 |

Honeslty I don't want the patch because of how the game ended it would be beyond stupid to leave you play on | 2009-01-27 08:08:00 Author: Don Vhalt Posts: 2270 |
With Oblivion we didn't receive DLC and suddendly the "Game of the year edition" (including the DLC obviously) ended up on shelves a year later. My little finger is telling me you should simply sell your Fallout3 and wait for its Game of the year edition. | 2009-01-27 15:53:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

The news that this was going to happen was public before the game was released, much like with GTA IV. Microsoft paid big bucks for exclusive DLC. It's sad, but it's true. I bought the PS3 version anyway because an additional 100 hours on my 360 may well have pushed it out of the proverbial window. It's a shame, but life moves on and there are plenty of exclusives for the PS3 this year, and it all just about balances out in the end. /hippy. | 2009-01-27 21:04:00 Author: flakmagnet Posts: 1084 |
This is ridiculous. We don't get this patch or the DLC. | 2009-01-27 21:09:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |
I've not seen Fallout 3 yet and Bethesda if you're reading this I sure as hell won't buy it either. But have a nice day anyways. | 2009-01-27 22:32:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |

I just got mine back from my friend and I can't wait to play it! Despite this news. | 2009-01-27 22:36:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

I think that to not release a patch that should correct bugs IS a cheap move no matter how you look at it. The DLC doesn't tell us much about the guys over there but that patch tells you alot more. . | 2009-01-28 00:16:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
wow....i didn't know they were NOT giving a PATCH....that is pretty messed up. | 2009-01-28 02:26:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |
Sign the petition to have it released - http://www.petitiononline.com/Wave360/petition.html "Finally, although the build didn't have any trophies and focused solely on the single player experience instead of the downloadable content coming on the 360, we were told that these elements could potentially be grandfathered into the title with future patches if the demand for these items is high and it's easy to add for the development team." It could always be possible, even if MS did secure some limited exclusivity. I dont care much about trophies but please add DLC Sincerely, The Undersigned Sign Here Please " | 2009-01-28 06:06:00 Author: Unknown User |
I thought there was a BUG CORRECTING patch out there? | 2009-01-28 14:39:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

Hey, atleast they made Oblivion. xD | 2009-01-28 18:07:00 Author: Bear Posts: 2079 |
It's not a patch to fix bugs it's a patch to leave you play after finishing the story which would be stupid because of how the game ends /agreed but i think i heard they are actually going to change the whole ending | 2009-01-28 19:19:00 Author: Hamsalad Posts: 2551 |
It's not a patch to fix bugs it's a patch to leave you play after finishing the story which would be stupid because of how the game ends Well, you CHOOSE how the story ends, so it isn't stupid to be able to play after it. As long as you get the Lyons girl to go in for you. And, as for Fawkes...I shot him after I learned that he wouldn't go in the thing for me. And if you don't poison the water so that the mutants die, then the game should be fine. Nothing REALLY changes except that there's now fresh clean water. It's still a wasteland. | 2009-01-28 21:53:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
/agreed but i think i heard they are actually going to change the whole ending They shouldn't change the ending I liked it Well, you CHOOSE how the story ends, so it isn't stupid to be able to play after it. And if you don't poison the water so that the mutants die, then the game should be fine. Nothing REALLY changes except that there's now fresh clean water. It's still a wasteland. It still wouldn't work for most endings it would only work for 1 of the main endings. So if you can play on after every ending it would be a bit stupid | 2009-01-28 22:02:00 Author: Don Vhalt Posts: 2270 |

So if you can play on after every ending it would be a bit stupid Well it doesn't matter because it's already coming to the 360 and PC. It does indeed sound stupid, and I want to know how Bethesda will do it, but this doesn't mean I don't want to be able to play after I beat the game. | 2009-01-28 22:24:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
They're charging for the patch. Kinda. You'll now be able to go to rank 30 as well as play after the game is finished. It's coming with the new Operation Anchorage (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/08/fallout-3-new-operation-anchorage-screens-broken-steel-lev/) DLC. It's only for the 360 and PC though. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/01/ninja3small.jpg | 2009-01-30 17:55:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |
