Sign-ups for "The Console Wars: Reloaded" are officially closed. If you still want to join the game, send me a message and I'll consider your request.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a world dominated by technology and corporations, the factions known by many as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo rose to power on both a national and global scale. Embedding themselves with government activities, including various military projects and covert operations, the three factions set to change how the world operated ~ and they succeeded. But soon after that came conflict, with the three factions rebelling against each other in what would be known as the Console Wars. Five major wars occurred before the fighting ended, and the tale of the three factions' ongoing battles came to an abrupt conclusion.

Welcome, one and all, to the Console Wars, LBPC's signature roleplaying series. Exaggerating the often used term when describing the competition between the major console developers Sony, MS, and Nintendo, The Console Wars takes place in a world where the three "factions" have become just as important as our very own governments, taking on all kinds of roles and responsibilities. But with each round in this game, a conflict arises, to where the factions end up going to war with each other. This is not your typical RPG, because in it, there are no stats, points, ultra-specific turn taking, etc. The focus with this game is mainly telling each of our own stories, not actually having it to where a certain player or group "wins."

How the Game Works.

Each and every member who participates in TCW will be writing a story for their characters and how they're affected by the war between the Big 3. You'll pick which of the three factions your main character(s) is affiliated with, (unless there's no affiliation, but the idea is for the vast majority of main characters to be somehow tied in with one of the factions) and from there, it's up to you. You could be the CEO there, or a soldier, a medic, intern, whatever you want. You guys help shape this story, and help bring this world to life by participating with your character's stories. The way you play this game will be by making posts for your characters, essentially progressing their story, whether if be something minor like waking up and getting a call from someone, or something more important like sneaking into an enemy base, or discovering some sort of shocking betrayal. Despite each writer having his or her own story to tell, a major element of the game is to intertwine your character's stories with others. You can message them in this thread or PM them about plans to cross over, and adjust things as you go, but it's very important that each writer tries to interact with other's to tie everything together, and make things much more fun.

All off-topic posts and commentary will be displayed in double parenthesis, ((like so)) in case you want to talk with someone else in the thread, or make some funny joke mid-post. This is to keep things organized and easy to understand for the readers. As far as other things go, you don't have to worry if you make some typos, it's something I'm sure we'll all make, but read over your post before posting it can allow you to spot any missed grammatical errors, or fix things if there are other writing quirks you get into, like talking too much in the present tense, etc.

Starting Fresh.

One of the main complaints I've seen with this series is that writers try incorporating characters/places/and story arcs from previous wars, which some won't be able to fully pick up on unless they fully go back through the previous wars, which, apart from the first few, each stretched out to be very long. Even though it was only an added bonus to have read the past wars to before entering a new one and was no means a requirement, we're hoping that isn't an issue this time around. You know why? Because this time, everything starts fresh. Since many veterans have left or dipped in activity recently, more newer players are getting involved with the roleplaying side to this forum, and it was officially stated by one of our TCW veterans Merc that the fifth war was the end to the series, it seems the most logical to reset everything. This may come as sad news for some, but overall I think it's the best course of action. It's also why joining this war is so important, as it could lay the foundation for everything that's to come later on. If you're still unsure about how to properly participate when the game starts, or you want to get a better understanding of how the game worked in the past series, feel free to visit any of the past console wars, which are all available in the links below. (But in all honesty, I'd focus on the latter wars. Things go off the rails in some of the first couple of wars.)

The Console Wars V: Road's End (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=71703-The-Console-Wars-V-Road-s-End)

(NOTE: Remember, like I said above, there is absolutely no requirement for you to read any of the wars above. This is a brand new start, and aside from the same concepts, practically nothing from the original seven wars will carry over here, since this will be a reboot of everything.)

Overview of Rules.

1.) All off-topic posts/commentary will be put between double brackets/parenthesis. ((Like so.)) This allows for less confusion if someone wants to communicate with one of the writers in the thread, or wants to say something not directly dealing with the story.

2.) While we'll be dealing with things like war and science fiction, we still want our posts to make sense, and not too random/all over the place. That means no random squids popping out of people's armpits because the writer thought it would work well with the story. On that note, make sure your post is also readable in the first place. Typos are okay, just make sure we can still clearly understand what you're saying, unless it's meant to be difficult to understand.

3.) Just because you're a writer, doesn't mean you're some overpowered demi-god. No killing other people's characters, (unless they want you to) no destroying important landmarks without overall consensus, etc. We won't just ban any use of mind control or teleportation, but if you do decide to include some sort of super abilities, don't spam them like some crazy person or whatever.

4.) Like I said above, try to stick around. The game is very complex, and each game usually loses a bunch of people. It's inevitable, but if you're going to sign up, try and stick with it. If you can no longer play, you can no longer play, but we don't want too many plot holes from people leaving the game with their characters' stories unresolved, and you shouldn't rely on other people to continue your story to the end if you have to quit mid-game.

5.) If you want to join this game while it's in motion, and you weren't able to sign up here, you should send me a message and I'll consider adding you in. (It depends where we are in the story) I reserve the right to kick someone from the game if they're being a total and complete nuisance (although that rarely happens) or if for some odd reason, they're not fit to join the game. (Again, we shouldn't be running into this kind of problem, I'm just saying it "in case.")

6.) Finally, please abide by LBPC's Rules and Guidelines if you decide to join this. That means be nice to those around you, don't share any weird images found on the internet, and no bot advertisements for your favorite ugg boots.

How to Sign Up.

Now, are you excited to play? If so, here's all the details on how you can sign up to participate in this glorious revival of LBPC's grandest roleplaying series. Deadline for the Game.

The deadline for signing up for this war will be on 11:59 PM on Monday, July 15th. (EST) After this time, anyone who will want to sign up for the game will have to VM/PM me that they want to join the game and wait for my response. (Approval/rejection of said request will depend on how far we are into the game.) After the deadline passes, I'll create a new thread for the war at some point the next day, which should be a Tuesday, (unless the deadline is changed) where all members who've signed up will go to to begin participating in the game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I'm glad that's all out of the way. So be a good citizen and sign up for this if you can. Everything starts here folks, from this point on a new series in the Console Wars Legacy is born, with new characters, places, enemies, etc. And we're hoping to get as much people as we can in on it, so feel free to help advertise this, but that's up to you. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here, or send me a visitor message/private message. I'll be happy to answer.

You should have changed the theme so that me being an evil peanut would make more sense :kz:

BASIC INFO
Name: RockSauron
Age: 666
Faction: Sony
Faction Role: Mascot

DETAILED INFO
Appearance: An Evil Peanut. Look at my avatar
Personality: Likes spouting EVIL and PEANUTS
Skills/Weapons: Can summon peanuts and the forces of darkness. Has a peanut lightsaber (A giant peanut with a beam of light sticking out)

This is an actual OC of mine that has his own ridiculously long story, lol. XD None of that is included.

BASIC INFO
Name: Stanley Manley
Age: 22
Faction: Unaffiliated (But may be persuaded to a faction later.)
Faction Role: Fanboy/Vigilante

DETAILED INFO
Appearance:
http://www.demon-heart.com/ow/stan2.png

Personality: Stan has bipolar disorder, switching between extreme periods of levity and depression. One minute he talks about stupid stuff (http://www.demon-heart.com/ow/stanpony.png) and the next he's face down on the floor complaining how miserable his life his. He has an affinity for rainbows and unicorns, but also motorcycles, leather, and baseball bats. Stan is an innocent in an uncaring world, victimized by circumstance. When upset, he usually equips motorcycle fatigues and goes on a face-smashing spree. He used to own horses, and kitties, so he likes those. He is easily bullied.
Skills/Weapons: ((And this is actually unchanged from the original Stan.)) Stan has the greatest superpower of all. Complete and total invulnerability. You could trap him in space in the center of an imploding black hole which wipes out the entire galaxy, and he'd not even have a scratch. You could fire diamond-headed lightsaber needles into his eyeballs and he wouldn't even flinch. Yes, this all sounds like he's incredibly mighty indeed.

Wrong.

Stan has absolutely no other abilities. He can barely lift 50 pounds, he runs slowly, trips over is own shoe laces, and is chronically poor. The most effective way people have used him is as a battering ram or bullet-proof shield because he's seriously no good at anything else. He's not quiet, he's not careful, and his idea of stealth involves repeating 'sneak sneak sneak' over and over while wearing squeaky tennis shoes. He's so incredibly accident prone that he'd be dead a thousand times over if he wasn't indestructible.

Stan's only real means of defense is a baseball bat. That's his weapon. And it's not even a steel bat, it's wood, so it can break.

Bio/Backstory: He lived on the edge of a peaceful community, until the console war drew too close for comfort. His home was exploded, and his family (Including pet horses gray and rainbow) all perished. Stan, being indestructible, survived. he wants to take out whoever exploded his home. But he has to find out who did it first.

BASIC INFO
Name: Flem
Age: 21
Faction: Sony
Faction Role: Untrained Ice Wizard

DETAILED INFO
Appearance: Lombax, white skinned with cyan detail. Wears no clothes except for a pair of black shorts (Wearing clothes limits magical ability) and has a glowing blue necklace which is at -100 degrees. (technically speaking it isn't magical but rather injects the user with a steady supply of oxygen, nanotech and cryogen which can for some create certain abilities, and can be tinkered with to enhance abilities or create even more powers, not just ice, known as training the gem -this is why he is an untrained ice wizard-)
Personality: Like a lot of magical people, has an odd sense of humour and changeable personality. Generally tries to do good but can be sadistic and has no qualms with hurting others.
Skills/Weapons: Much like the Ice King (adventure time) Without the necklace all powers are revoked. Posesses a short black dagger that has no special powers; magical abilities are limited - can use moisture from air to shoot spikes of ice from palms or create weapons from ice. Can use restoration to heal others' minor ailments (not self). Can breathe in water. Attacks/ any magic use lots of physical energy so if overused can result in fainting or at least collapse [as an untrained wizard magic is very limited].
Bio/Backstory: After the great purging of the lombaxes flem to Earth, however his spaceship buried him deep in the Arctic. Having learned been given the necklace in a sealed container by his father which also held a kind of instruction manual, being told to keep it from danger and most importantly NOT TO WEAR IT; flem disobeyed his now dead father and having broken open the container put on the necklace without knowing that his life was now halved to an age of 45. He then learned a few powers before accidentally losing the manual in a storm, and so to escape killed every member of a landing tourist ship with his spikes, located a black dagger on one of the shipmen and then took the boat back to shore having left one shipmen alive and forced him to drive the ship threatening him with death. Found his way to Sony headquarters which apparently had something to do with the death of the lombaxes, only to find they would only tell them if he helped them. They did however like his skills and so want to use him as a spy, and so is now trying to meet with members of the other factions and kill/capture/convert them.

[Too OP? Also won't be online between 19/7 and 17/8 but am happy to join later or whatever, idk]

So let me get this straight. We've got an ancient dark lord mascot that controls all evil and peanuts at will, a guy in his twenties who's completely invincible, (albeit weak and useless in every other department) and a time-travelling robot who saved an entire faction.

I think you guys missed the part where I said, "don't make yourself too overpowered."

I mean, sure, in Blackout we had Michael who could talk to his pet turtle, and Gecko who was like Spidey-like reflexes, but let's be a little more realistic here.

EDIT: And we've got an ice wizard? xD Brb gonna read what flame's got. Butter, gdn, I'm not the only one overwhelmed by all the superpowers here, right?

And none of them have anything to do with consoles. I tried to fit myself in, but honestly, this storyline is constricting :/

We can do a "GTA World" esque thing, where the world is an exaggerated parody of ours with video game references everywhere, but the characters are more grounded in reality.

YOU JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME ON STAN. D: He can be beaten by a pretty much any mid-sized person with a sizable cardboard box. XD

Step 1: Put Stan in box.
Step 2: Sit on box.

Congratulations. You've beaten him. (Cuz he's stuck and can't get out.)

I know it doesn't give as much freedom as some RPGs, but that hasn't stopped it from being a treat. There are plenty of people who have been fine by simply having a soldier, medic, spy, etc. be their character. I'm not saying any and all superhuman abilities are banned, but right now, it will need some balancing out. Here are some bits and pieces from some of TCW5's sign-ups, each of which were fine.

Name: Gabriel
Skills/Weapons: Is very knowledgeable when it comes to electronics, even ancient ones. Knows how to survive under worst case scenarios. Slightly athletic. Prefers a revolver and knife, but uses a shotgun on occasion.

Name: Rock Sauron
Skills/Weapons: The Hero Sword, a mighty blade of Sony's bane. Very intuitive, can solve puzzles quite easily

Name: GDN
Skills/Weapons: He knows basic survival techniques and weapon handling. Also known as a helicopter/jet pilot. He usually carries a M416 and a handgun.

Name: Zim Invader
Skills/Weapons: Her main weapon is her staff. She dislikes having to resort to firearms. Zim learned a lot about survival during the time she spent on her own, and so she is a master in perks like sneaking and free-running, as well as attacking and defending herself.

Name: Drago
Skills/Weapons: His left hand is artificial, but works marvelously. He has implemented several features that he is still fiddling with, but it helps become a weapon of his own. He'll also be carrying a pistol sometimes, and knows a few fighting moves.

Name: Zeta
Skills/Weapons: As mentioned earlier due to her physique she isn't too strong, but very competent at forms of military technology, and has a good aim. Makes up for lack of strength in agility, but has to use powerful weapons rather than brute force. Often uses improvised weapons i.e whatever is laying about.

Name: Alexa Ridge
Skills/Weapons: BR85 Heavy-Barrel Service Rifle, M6H PDWS, T-33 Guided Munitions Launcher. Accelerated healing process. (Genetic) Known to posess a strong power in her left arm, also passed down from her father, which has abilities not yet known to anyone; she's spent much of the time since the attack on the Blackout base trying to hone her skills with this power.

Congratulations. You've beaten him. (Cuz he's stuck and can't get out.)

Maybe I just don't like the word "invincible" in a game like this. I'll probably allow it and all though, and most main characters make it out alive in CWs anyway, so it works either way, and I admit, the whole "invisible but weak" concept is actually pretty neat. Oh, and I'll make sure to read what flame has to say, and start grouping the sign-ups together. Keep 'em coming, you guys!

Alright, updated the players list. (Divided into four sections: Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, and Unaffiliated)

Thanks to everyone who's signed up, hopefully we can reel a lot of people in for this. Also, heads up, if you see someone who signs up that you want to collide with some point in the story, feel free to send them a message or talk to them via the thread. I'm all for making plans of intertwining stories, since it's up to you guys how your character's stories go.

The villain should be the head of EA Games.

This is funny. However it will not be implemented due to the fact that we want to have all equal factions and EA is a company. Also to all those using 'Powers' might want to watch what they post as posting ridiculous and unnecessary moments, I.e.(OMG I EXPLODE EVERYTHING) will result in your posts being removed from TCW. Those people want to do some reading of the previous console wars.

In other news My bio inbound tomorrow because I have to work a lot this week.

Yeah, what butter said. I mean obviously, making a random post about blowing up the earth won't necessarily get you taken from the game, just ignored and such. It's just something you don't want to continually do, unless you like peeving everyone else off.

Anyway though, the main enemy and story haven't fully been worked out yet, but have no fear, we'll have something by the time sign-ups have ended. Also, I understand how people want their character to be unique, and I fully get it. Having this mysterious armored man working for Sony and this useless guy who can never die, or flem, the lombax from another world. It's great stuff, I was just a little worried at first, that's all. As long as most players have some sort of connection between the factions and the war, it should be fine.

My turn!

BASIC INFO
Name: Kuzanao Sakamata (Good luck pronouncing that!)
Age: Existed since the beginning of time, but physical appearances look like that of a 21 year old's.
Faction: Nintendo
Faction Role: Kuzanao is known by many to be the underground father of Nintendo, and can manipulate the thoughts of competitors. He currently works as a lead coder at Nintendo HQ.

DETAILED INFO
Appearance:
-Height: 6 feet 2 inches
-Hair: White
-Eye Color: Red
-Facial Shape: Pointy, not round.
-Body Shape: Skinny
-Ethnicity: Asian

Personality: -Kuzanao is a mysterious man. He does not talk with anybody outside of Nintendo HQ, unless necessary for business. His tone is very businesslike, though it is rumored that he loosens up within his close social circles.

Skills/Weapons: Kuzanao has only one skill, however it is one of utmost importance. He can implant thoughts and ideas into that of anybody else. As shown in his bio, this has helped him out much in life. As for his weapon, Kuzanao only has one of these as well: his mind. Kuzanao is an extremely smart and talented coder and engineer. As such, he is indispensable for electrical maintenance and hacking.

Bio/Backstory: Created in the dawn of time, Kuzanao (who is a human that is immune to natural death but can be killed through unnatural death, aka from human interaction (stabbing, shooting, etc)) has always sought for the day interactive experiences could be enjoyed by people of all ages. He called this idea the "video game", but knew that there was no way to create this in real life with existing technology. Many years passed for Kuzanao as he slept in a coma, invisible to others. The technology to sustain his idea was invented, however, and Kuzano awoke. In 1971, Kuzanao implanted his video game ideas into the minds of 2 men - Nolan Bushnell and Tad Dabney, as they were the most trustworthy folks he could find. The 2 men formed this seed into a working product, creating the first commercially available arcade machine of all time: Computer Space. Proud of the 2 men's creation and the direction video games were heading in, Kuzanao fled into his own mind, entering a coma of invisibility once again. The time came, however, when mankind needed him. It was the video game crash of 1977. Pong clones were flooding the markets, and Atari, insisting that they were the kings of the industry, began to put out mediocre games such as E.T. To end this period of woe, Kuzanao approached a bright, inventive man named Tomohiro Nishikado. Without the man knowing it, Kuzanao put the idea of a wonderful game in his head - the blueprints to what would become Space Invaders, which launched in 1978 to both end the horrible market crash of the previous year and to usher in what is now known as the Golden Age of Arcade Video Games, which ended up lasting for a whole 8 years. Kuzanao's work was finished, and all was well. The last innovation Kuzanao caused to occur happened in 1983. Home consoles at the time bared more resemblance to computers than to the consoles we take for granted today, and Kuzanao wanted to fix this via an amazing triumph, which he would title the Famicom. This was to be a major achievement - and, as such, would take drastic measures never before used. There was only one way to do this. Kuzanao was ready to do whatever was needed to achieve his ends, so he did the unspeakable - he possessed the head of Nintendo. This was a one-time affair, and can never be done again, as the power required for this action is immense. It was worth it, however - the Famicom, known as the NES in America, was a runaway hit revolutionizing at-home gaming for the rest of time. When the head of Nintendo that Kuzanao had possessed passed away, Kuzanao returned to his original form. Today, he is dedicated to the cause of Nintendo, and is ready to fight to the end in the Console War: Reloaded. Wanting to be useful to his beloved company, he has become, in his standard form, an employee of Nintendo. He is good friends with the current head of Nintendo, and has a high level of respect in his workplace at Nintendo HQ. He will go through anything to help Nintendo triumph in these dark times.

@Ryan: Wow, if that's not a cool sign-up then I don't know what is. Adding ya to the list.

Just a reminder folks, when TCW starts up, the factions won't necessarily be at war with eachother yet, so keep that in mind. Also, while real figures can be referenced in this, (like Ryan did with his backstory) we do want most existing characters to be fictional, to give it a more fictional vibe, and allow someone to take existing roles like CEO and such for a faction.

Lol, you can still reference historical figures in the game industry if ya want. I'm just saying that you can also be general with some of the references, like simply mentioning that Sakamata successfully persuaded the creators of Computer Space/Space Invaders without needing all the names, but that's up to you. Either method works, I'm just glad to see someone joining Team Nintendo. (That'll most likely be my faction of choice) I mean, it's to be expected that Sony gets the most recruits since this is a forum dedicated to a PS exclusive, but getting some dedicated MS/Nintendo members is still great to see along with members of Sony.

EDIT: By the way, you don't have to use double paranthesis in the sign-ups, Ryan. That rule only kicks in when the game starts. (Which will be in a separate thread, btw) Still, I'm glad to see people are reading the rules for this game. I promise it'll make things much easier to understand when things start.

I thought that it was Satora Iwata.

I believe he means one of the writers' fictional characters, instead of the real Nintendo CEO.

Lol, I was actually going to be Sony at first, but then I was all "wait, everybody else is Sony". I wanted some variation, and I love the heck out of the NES, so I figured that Nintendo would be my faction of choice. Anyways, about the references, I'll go ahead and remove the name of the head of Nintendo, as that's an important role that someone else will likely want to fill. I'll leave the other names for now, however (just for coolness factor), but will happily change them if someone else wants to, say, have made Computer Space or Space Invaders (who knows, maybe those creators are, within the context of TCWR, still alive? *hint hint nudge nudge wink wink to anybody reading this*).

Yeah, I had the same experience when I signed up for my 1st war, TCW: Blackout. I stuck with Sony through though until Blackout ended and TCW5 started up, where I switched gears and went with a Nintendo guy and another character, listed as unaffiliated. (Due to being presumed dead.) You make good points about references, and yeah, taking Satoru out would be the most appropriate to give others a shot at the role. So yeah, if anyone wants to be CEO, you're allowed to, whether it's Ninten., Sony, or MS. (But I really like how your character is considered a sort of "underground leader," Ryan. I think it's settled that our characters will have to cross paths eventually.

Indeed, and I had it this way in Kuzanao's bio when I first made it. However, the CEO of Nintendo is an important role, so I'd figure I'd leave it for anybody to take, hence me removing Satora's name from the bio.

@Dragonvarsity - Think you could update Kuzanao's bio on the player list to what it is now? It still says that Satora Iwata is the CEO of Nintendo, which could potentially lead to confusion.2013-07-11 02:03:00

He operates in this area that has been forgotten by Sony mainly due to having no strategic significance. Microsoft troops have entered the area on a "Peacekeeping" mission. "Greenly" is thought to have served with the armies of Sony however he now fights for his destroyed home-town which still remains unknown. Little else is known but he is seen by Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo as being a bandit and an outlaw and is currently wanted for suspected involvement in a battle with MS forces where he is believed to have started his mercenary work.

Thank you Ryan for the advertising, and thanks for the sign-up Shooter, it's good to have our first true soldier to join the game.

Just remember folks, while the option to go unaffiliated is available, the main priority should be filling up the factions, so each one has at least a few players, and since it's a console war, we do want the vast majority to in some way be working for one of the factions. Also, nothing prohibits those who've already joined or will join the game from making a sign-up for another character as well. Many writers in the past couple wars had more than one main character to write for, and while I'm sure we'll all be running into plenty of random civilians that don't need any explaining beforehand, it might be good to throw another sign-up out there if you have any other main characters planned. It's not fully necessary, but it makes the factions seem more.. filled up. (If you have no plans to write for another main character though, then there's no need to create one just to make a second sign-up. I don't want to try tampering with your story or anything like that.)

Jack could feel it,and he wanted to be apart of it.

Thanks for joining this vez, I do indeed like the sign-up.

Now that we've got three unaffiliated members though and I'm not sure how many others will join, I'll be closing the unafffiliated section for the time being. I cannot confirm whether or not I'll make it available, but this is so that we can get more people focused on the actual factions themselves, since right now Sony has two members, Nintendo has one (Although I will be joining the Big N) and Microsoft has none whatsoever. So hopefully we'll get more of a balance between factions and such, so give MS some love, even if you do hate the Xbone.

Yeah D: Still though, they've got some good and bad qualities that could make for working for them very interesting. (Always watching, motion/voice departments, EA's partnership, tension with indie developers, etc.) Also, I guess now's a good time to announce something regarding sign-ups:

*Achem*

The deadline for signing up for this war will be at 11:59 PM on Monday, July 15th.

There always could be a chance of this being pushed back, but past console wars have given people around a week like this would, so hopefully we can get enough people with the set deadline while also not making those who've signed up not wait too long.

The fact that you've joined this game and seem committed is really enough tbh, but I suppose you could advertise it in your motto and maybe send visitor messages to some people about it? (Just make sure they aren't people I've advertised to, or they might get kind of peeved. xD) It's entirely up to you though.

DETAILED INFO
Appearance: Very chubby cheeks with quiff-ed blonde hair like a young schoolboy. Quite chubby concerning body shape too, without a hint of facial or bodily hair. A very snubby and fat nose but blue gleaming eyes. Wears blue shorts very high up, with little polished black shoes and white socks. A chef hat that has "MacroNom" knitted onto it and a white, pristine buttoned up shirt with a chefs garmet over it.

As I grew older, the baby face remained but became a little less admirable, so I turned to bakery. My time on the streets taught me to be tough, but also how to qualm problems through the art of creating sugary treats.

Name: Nathan Dover.
Age: 27
Faction: Nintendo
Faction Role: Intelligence agent/Profiler (someone who identifies peoples characteristics etc.)

Appearance: Young, tallish man with chestnut coloured hair. He lacks muscles and is completely devoid of any form of facial hair. Very thin jaw and slim figure, he isn't someone who looks like he lifts bro. Very smart uniform which normally consists of jeans and a chequered shirt.

Personality: Intelligent and kind know it all. He knows he is clever but isn't too smug about it, his kindness seems to bring the better side out of people but in terms of bravery he won't rush up to the plate in a dangerous situation. Sensitive to other people without being too nosey with their personal lives. Likes working with teams as he feels safer. Too shy to ever talk to anyone he doesn't know that well. Sadly he has never had a girlfriend.

Skills/weapons: Able to decipher what is going on in certain peoples minds by the way they move/act. Trained in the ability to calm people down or to help stop a tense situation without force (aka hostage situations) In terms of weapons Nathan has minimal training in firearms and carries a Glock 17, only because he has to.

Biography: Grew up in an odd way, when he was young he was diagnosed with autism and his mother decided to home tutor him. His mother passed away when he was 19 and attending his first week at university away from his mother. He always liked studying what people were thinking and grew his own techniques in order to work those thoughts out. When he saw that people was wanted to be a profiler in Nintendo's private intelligence section, Nathan signed up right away and easily was the top candidate for the place. 6 years later he is about to enter his first war and will be on the frontlines for the first time ever. GULP!

Bio/Backstory:

A boy lay prone among the dirt and snow, eyes sharp, surveying the forest before him. He resisted shivering despite the chill of the snow and winter air. His breathing was steady, quiet. Then, amidst the bare trees, he spotted his target.

A young doe, large enough to make several meals but small enough that he could carry, had been separated from its herd. It wandered slowly, unaware the boys presence. He rose to one knee, revealing a bow within his grip, a quiver at his side. He raised it, aiming steadily toward the creature. One breath in, one out. The twang of the bowstring as he released the arrow served as the only warning to the doe. His aim was true.

The boy spent another breath and rose to retrieve his kill. It was at that moment that a pack of four wolves emerged as if from nowhere. Three of them went straight for the carcass while the last faced him, teeth bared, black lips in a snarl.
The boy backed away slowly. He had spent days tracking this doe, but he was willing to give it up and walk away. Unfortunately, the fourth wolf did not feel the same about him. It lunged. He ran.

Weaving among the trees, the boy tried to distance himself from the creature. But the frost made the ground slick and he soon fell. He had just enough time to turn and use the bow to keep the wolf from tearing at his throat. He fought, but would not hold much longer. Panic rose. He was going to die.

I don't want to die!

As he fought, the boy could feel something building inside him. It gathered in the struggle, begging for release, like the bowstring pulled taunt. Without meaning to, he obliged.

The ground around the two figures began to churn and shift. Thin columns of rock erupted from beneath the snow, catching the wolf, pushing it away. It flew many feet away before landing with a heavy thud on its side. Shaken, it rose and fled with a whimper.

The boy breathed heavily, air rising as steam from his mouth. First he was confused at what happened, but then he lay back, exhausted.
The boy was Mathias. This was the first time he showed his power.

__________________________________________________ __________________

Life continued in a town at the edge of a relatively isolated northern forest. It was not large by any means, most of the space dedicated to the functions of a factory, christened ?The Forge? by those who worked there, where manufacturing of components took place. These parts were then shipped to various cities under Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. Beyond that there were homes for the people, a city center of sorts with a town hall and market district, a medical center, and a school.

While it was not the most prosperous town, the people got by well enough. Buyers paid handsomely for their manufacturing, or more often, traded for any goods the people needed as a whole. Isolation was the only issue. Shipments only came and went several times a year, so any other time, the citizens had to be self sufficient. This resulted in a mishmash of customs and technologies on hand. For instance, most people visited the market for their food, but almost all of them hunted, or paid someone to hunt, in the local woods as a supplement. Some owned guns, but to conserve ammunition, they tended to keep modern bows as well. On and on, televisions in log cabins, modern plumbing, electricity, but also smaller generators when the power was cut after a storm.

This was the environment where Mathias first learned to use his powers. It had been two years since he discovered the ability, and he experimented in secret ever since, trying to learn what he was capable of.

It was more than he imagined. With force of movement and will, he could manipulate the elements. He would levitate rocks over his palm, rotating them about an invisible axis. With some effort, he could create small waves over otherwise still waters. With difficulty, he created breezes over grasslands, or held flames in his palm for seconds before they flickered into nothing.

He had no explanation for these abilities, so he never revealed them to anyone. He just went on about his life as normally as possible, albeit spending more time than usual alone in the woods, returning tired and hungry. His father once joked that Mathias should stay inside more.

?Skip on the exercise every once in a while son. Maybe then you won't always tear through your food like a rabid camel.?

Now he was 16, a man by the standards of his community. He would begin to work at the factory himself. He might not be able to leave and practice at his skills anymore. It was something he didn't want to give up. But Mathias was proud of his parents and the work they did, his father in The Forge, his mother as a teacher. If there was one thing he was willing to do, it was to take the next step into manhood, find his place in the community, and see what would come.

__________________________________________________ __________________

Mathias and his father were walking home after a long day at the Forge, joking and enjoying each other's company.

There was an explosion, one so strong that the ground trembled beneath their feet. Together they turned. The Forge was aflame, walls of brick and metal collapsed into a raging inferno. Black smoke billowed up in thick, twisting columns, covering the light of the setting sun.. The alarm horn erupted over every part of town. Mathias' father spoke to him.

?Son! I need you to go home. Go home and get you mother and the children out!? A crowd of people emerged, some fleeing the scene, other rushing towards it.

?What about you?? Mathias shouted over the noise.

?I need to go back, people could have been hurt, they may need help. Now go! Get the family and take them to the clearing! Stay there until I get back!? His father embraced him before melding with the crowd.

Mathias lingered only a moment longer before turning towards home. By the time he arrived, his mother had already gathered his brother and sisters. They went with their neighbors to a clearing within the woods, out of sight of the town but close enough that the animals would leave them alone.

When he knew they were safe, Mathias returned to the factory. The fires still raged, but that was not the only problem. There were people at least two dozen people firing at anyone who tried to approach the complex. The town guards were fighting back, but in disarray.

Mathias rushed about and saw his father behind cover, grouped with others, seemingly planning something. He called out, and his father heard the sound.

?What are you doing here!?? his father shouted, but Mathias could barely hear him above the noise of the firefight.
The father left cover, approaching his son.

He took three steps before he stumbled, a glazed look passing over his eyes. To Mathias, he fell to the ground in slow motion, blood seeping from wounds in his back.

It couldn't happen, Mathias wouldn't accept it. But as he ran to his father, he knew it was so. He did not stop when he reached the group pulling the body back behind cover, but instead kept running forward, anger building. The attackers took notice and fired upon him, but he had just enough time to dive behind debris. He was close, they were approaching. He struck. As he stood, Mathias flung his arm out, palm pointing towards the nearest man. A brick rose from the ground and shot towards the target, knocking him backwards with the force of its hit. Another stone hit an attackers face, blood streamed from the hole it made as the man collapsed. The others began to take notice. They steadily backed away while raising their weapons. They drew close to the flames. With another movement, Mathias caused it to erupt in a great belch, singeing those closest.

Now they fell back in full retreat, but still Mathias carried on. Launching another brick at one, hitting him in the knee, knocking him to the ground. The boy stood over the man, a stone gathered in each hand. If the attacker pleaded, Mathias did not hear it. He roared with rage and pain as he brought the stones down.

He was spent. The town guards still fired at the retreating attackers. Emergency teams were finally able to approach the building.
Mathias cared nothing of this. He turned to where he knew his father lay and fell to his knees, the edges of his vision darkening. He was unconscious before his head hit the ground.

__________________________________________________ __________________

Instead of the medical center, which was damaged in the fires, Mathias awoke in his own home. His room was filled with machines and other equipment, monitoring his condition, pumping fluids sluggishly into his veins. He had been out for three days.

Initially, there was a flurry of attention from technicians, but once it was clear that he was fine, if a little weak, they allowed his family to remain with him. But it was not long before others came. They were those present the night of the attack.

Exactly those he wanted to see.

They told him of his father, whom they already buried with the others who fell. A service would take place when the situation calmed enough.

Mathias asked about the invaders and was furious to hear that many had escaped. Despite his weakness, he shouted a curse and called for the others to rally together and hunt the strangers down. To exact justice. So preoccupied he was with his own anger, Mathias was shocked to find that others did not feel the same. But once he realized this, he saw that it was clear from their nervous glances towards him, only to look away rapidly, the shifting of weight, the silence, that he was the cause.
Many of them saw what happened that night, the powers he displayed. There was no explanation for it, no view of their life where something like that is possible. In some ways, the power made them fear Mathias more than the invaders themselves. He hung his head in understanding. These men would not follow him anywhere. He would go alone.

__________________________________________________ __________________

It was the night before his departure when The Master arrived. Mathias' family was reluctant to have visitors, but welcomed him anyway, showing what hospitality they could. Mathias himself never left his room, there were more important things at hand.
He was gathering the last materials for his pack when his door opened.

?There's no reason to run from this,? a voice stated. Mathias turned. There was The Master, entering the room, looking side to side, pulling a wooden chair to sit.

?I'm not running,? Mathias retorted sharply, ?It's the opposite, I'm going for justice.?

?Maybe not justice,? The Master replied quietly, ?Maybe vengeance.?

?So what if it is!? Mathias shouted, ?Maybe vengeance is justified against people like this, who attack our homes, kill the people we love!? In spite of himself, the power of his emotions brought tears to his eyes. He did not understand what about this stranger drew and repelled him.
?Who are you??

The Master was as calm as before.
?Perhaps it is neither justice nor revenge that you seek, but oblivion. There are many paths you can take, but you choose the one that leads to certain demise. You cannot win this battle.?

?You don't know what I can do!?

?Oh but I do,? The Master answered, ?I know full well what you are capable of. It is the reason I am here.? The master stood.
?I offer you a choice. You can leave alone in a futile gesture of false bravado and stupidity, or you can come and let me teach you, bring you farther than you could ever reach by yourself.?

Then Mathias was alone with his own thoughts.
It was not until the next morning that he emerged from his room and approached The Master.

?I will join you.?

__________________________________________________ __________________

The first weeks with The Master were strange for Mathias. They traveled to eastern mountains, to a secluded temple built within them. Before, Mathias thought his home was isolated, but compared to this place, it was the hub of civilization. Although there were towns near the mountains and even small villages within, the temple was difficult to reach. However, it contained everything they would need to be self sufficient. A garden grew their food while the forest supplied animals for meat. Water came from an old fashioned well, as pure as the student could hope for. Beyond that, the temple complex itself held many rooms where people could sleep, dine, or study. There were also large grounds where Mathias would train in various forms of combat. He would meditate in a glade not far off, listening to the running of a brook, feeling the ground beneath him, the breeze in the air, and the warmth of the sun.

Most importantly, The Master instructed his student in the finer nuances of his powers, teaching Mathias to manipulate the elements in ways he had never imagined. Mathias even progressed to control two elements at once, requiring a greater drain of strength and concentration, but resulting in devastatingly powerful or versatile techniques. At each challenge he had to overcome, he was driven first by his wish to simply become powerful enough to accomplish his goals. He had not forgotten the anger he felt, the reason he was there. The Master for his part said nothing of his student's intentions, only continued instructing. But the training itself affected Mathias' outlook. The hours of mediation, feeling the flow, the connections of the world. The studies, the physical exertions, they drew him from his thoughts of revenge, allowed him to view it as if from outside himself. As he grew more powerful with each passing month, he began to question what it was he wanted from his life.

__________________________________________________ __________________

Mathias was not The Master's only apprentice. A girl named Noel had already been training in the temple for months when he arrived. She was energetic, quick-witted, always with a smile on her face. He remembered seeing her on that first day, training with knives, long brown hair streaming about as she weaved between forms and throws.

Initially, he was withdrawn, only really talking about their work, communicating during sparring. He would speak, listen, occasionally joke, but he always held back. He could not be distracted from what he hoped to accomplish.

But as time wore on, Mathias gradually dropped the barriers he placed around himself. He spent much of his time in Noel's company and enjoyed it immensely. They grew to know each other more and more, and eventually enough trust built that he told her of his past. When she knew of the events that brought him there, she did not react with pity or regret, but instead carried on with him. She even told of her past, the wonders of a large city, showing him a silver medallion she received from her mother when she left.

In the years at the temple, Mathias' training tempered his grief and rage. But it was his bond with Noel, one greater even than mere friendship, that healed him.

__________________________________________________ __________________

Mathias experienced five years in the temple before it was attacked. By the time he realized the danger, it was too late. The Master was run through, many attackers advanced. There were heavily armored in mechanical suits, faces covered in helmets, weapons drawn.

Mathias led Noel through the corridors, fighting many along the way. But Noel was hit, a shot to the leg, and could not continue. He would not accept this. He would use the last of his strength to get them out if needed.
Noel had other plans.

?Go!? she ordered.
He should have expected this of her. Ignoring her next words, he made to lift her away.
She resisted.

?Take this,? she told him, revealing the amulet she carried, ?hold onto this until we meet again.? Her words faded in and out.
?You can't do that if you die here today!?

It was the hardest thing he had ever done, and he wouldn't have if she didn't make it clear that she wanted, no, needed him to leave. To live.
She had helped him in so many ways, and this would be the last. Her final gift.
So he listened to her despite his wishes to the contrary. He did as she asked, carrying with him the amulet, and the dream of a hope that they would meet again.

__________________________________________________ __________________

He escaped to the outskirts of the temple, to a cliff overlooking a river, before they caught him. They might have expected him to fight, to make a last stand. But he understood his responsibility, and it was not to end it here. He eyed the cliff, then faced the invaders. With a step back, he plummeted.

Immediately, Mathias worked with the air, trying to slow his descent before he reached the bottom. By the time he hit the water, he had slowed enough to survive the fall, but not so much that he wasn't hurt by the impact. Quickly he pushed, creating a single wave to propel him faster. He drifted downstream, away from the temple.

__________________________________________________ __________________

It was several miles before the river calmed enough for Mathias to reach the bank. Small mercy that he never approached a waterfall. He staggered onto the ground, tired, but knowing he had to keep moving.

He traveled as far as he could down through woodland before he rested at the roots of a tree. It felt like no time passed before he awoke to an animal sniffing at his face. A dog, gray with a white face and paws, eyes blue as ice, triangular ears upward. At first Mathias thought it might be a wolf, especially when the dog howl filled the air. There was a shuffling in the bushes, the sound of someone running. Mathias tensed.

An old man emerged, hair mostly gray, but with streaks of red remaining, with thin rimmed glasses over kind eyes. Despite his apparent age, he seemed only slightly out of breath from whatever exertion it might have taken to cut through the bushes. Two more dogs emerged as he took notice of Mathias.

?Well then, are you whats got Ama all riled up?? he exclaimed.

Mathias rose to his feet, body stiff. His ribs pained him, either bruised or broken. His right arm hung at his side. The man looked concerned.

?Now I don't know much about doctoring, but it seems to me that you could use someone who does.? he said as he helped Mathias to his feet.

Mathias considered the stranger for a moment, weighing his options. In the end, he decided that he wasn't going to make it out of this forest alone, so he accepted the stranger's help.

The old man, named Jeremiah, drove towards a city at the base of the mountain. He was a talkative fellow, offering his story as they traveled.

?It's a good thing I was out here,? he said with a chuckle, ?only meant to go a bit of a ways, instead let the fresh air lead me up. Lucky thing huh??
?It was little Amaterasu who found you, barely six months old and already showing great instincts. Not that we can't expect a thing like that with huskies. I'm just surprised old Argos here didn't smell ya' first,? he referred to a hound in the backseat. ?But I'm not at all surprised Rush didn't catch you, most useless, lovable dog I ever saw.?

On they went, Mathias learning that Jeremiah once was a barber, but now trained dogs in his retirement. He was in this part of the country visiting his daughter, as Jeremiah described her, the finest chef in all the world. In no time at all it seemed, they arrived at a hospital. Mathias' injuries weren't major, but he would have to rest for a while. Of course Jeremiah insisted that he stay with the family.

They were gracious hosts, and Mathias showed his appreciation as he could, but they respected his wish to spend time alone to think. Much of this time, of course, was spent lingering on what happened. In all the years that passed, nothing had changed. Those important to him were in danger and again he could not save them.

He would shake himself out of these thoughts, needing to focus on the next course of action, to move on. It was amazing that the attackers had not already stormed this city. Part of him wanted them to come, to have the chance to pay them back.

But when he held Noel's amulet, he knew things had changed. He could no longer be blindly driven by raw anger or cold vengeance. He knew that whoever was responsible had to be stopped before they hurt anyone else. This was his path, and it could not be accomplished if he died in a hail of fire, leaving nothing gained.

It was evening when he reached this realization. Petting Amaterasu, who always joined him during these contemplations. He stared off into the distant sunset, deciding he would leave the next day, travel the land, and find out what he could about the organization responsible for the temple. It was dark when he told Jeremiah of his departure.

So he set out the next morning, pack filled to the brim with supplies and delicious food for the road. He would walk for now, but perhaps find new transportation in the next town, or the one after that. Not that he could drive anyway, never having had an opportunity to learn. Maybe it was time, his training was yet incomplete.

Most surprising was that Amaterasu followed him. Sprinting ahead and back again, but always within distance that clearly showed she was joining him. At first, he made to return her, coaxed her to stay home.

Jeremiah called out, ?Take her with you, I don't mind. I think her going along might do the both of you some good.?

So Mathias walked the path away from their home, Amaterasu by his side. Together they journeyed from town to town, wandering from place to place.

Here we go, my first character. I'll type my second one either tonight or tommorow.

BASIC INFORMATION

Name: Mathias (Mah-thy-us)
Age: 25
Faction: Unaffiliated
Faction Role: Former Apprentice

DETAILED INFORMATION

Appearance: Gender: male
Height: 5ft 11in
Build: Average, lean muscle
Hair: Black, slight spike, not anime-ish though
Eyes: Brown
Clothing: Travel worn dark pants, short sleeved t-shirt, travel boots,
leather dual knife belt, pack, silver medallion and chain
Personality: Relatively quiet, good-natured, may act without thinking, somewhat rash,
Skills/Weapons: Energy Manipulation

Primarily through Elemental Control
Can control elements such as Fire, Water, Rock, and Air.

The more power used, the more personal energy is expended. Ease of control in order of Earth, Water, Air/Fire. Other elemental uses vary. Cannot lift mountains or any such.

Can recover energy naturally by resting/eating or by concentrating on pulling from surrounding natural environment. Meditation training has allowed to progressively increase store of energy at one time.

Constant use of power has helped body adapt to become resilient to some elemental/energy damage, to a degree, but does not offer complete invulnerability or protection from physical items such as knives or bullets, etc. If it uses energy (in the sense of magic-esque), there is small protection.

Has not mastered direct energy control, but can, in dire circumstances or emotional moments, create bursts of force that may have huge power, but quickly drains energy. Overuse can lead to damage to body, fatigue to point of passing out, or death.

Additionally, Mathias has been been trained, both in mind and body, and wields ` two daggers from his training. If energy is channeled through the blades, it is easier to maintain control, through they offer no other energy boost.

Bio/Backstory:

When Mathias was 16, bandits invaded his home. He fought along the guard to stop them. However, his father fell, and in grief and rage, Mathias unleashed a crushing blow against the invaders, a force of the elements, crushing stones, searing flame, battering winds, and sweeping waves. The bandits were driven off, but Mathias was almost lost, falling unconscious.

While still in bed, weak from the invasion, Mathias was preparing to take vengeance on the bandits who ransacked his home. However, word of his feat had spread spread to The Master, who visited the village. The Master's plan was simple, rather than have Mathias fight, and die, at the hands of the bandits in a futile gesture, he would train the boy and teach him to control his powers. At first Mathias had no interest until The Master revealed that he too had power, transferring energy to Mathias, enabling the boy to recover instantly as he had been unable before. The deal was that Mathias would remain with The Master until his training was complete. After discussion and saying goodbye to his remaining family and friends, Mathias agreed, and left with The Master the following morning, still imagining the day he would have his vengeance.

They traveled to far off mountains, to a temple in which they would live. There, Mathias learned that his power was not simply to control the elements, but to control the underlying energy inherent in all forces. However, he could not concentrate the raw power into a useable form, and instead manifested it in fire and such. The master had him meditate daily, trained him in hand to and as well as weapon based combat, and trained him in the finer nuances of his abilities. By the time he was 20, Mathias was incredibly skilled at controlling the elements, and was preparing to finally master direct energy.

As it turned out, Mathias was not to be The Master's only pupil. A girl named Noel, perhaps a year older than him, had already been under tutelage for months before Mathias arrived at the temple. Together, they trained under The Master. Noel acted as his sparring partner and friend. She showed greater energy control, her power being to summon objects at will, and was equally proficient in combat, but had a sweet, if mischievous, disposition. She would often bring him out of the shell created the day his village was attacked. It was with her help, along with his meditation training, that he eventually learned to get over any remaining pain and anger he felt. The world is as it was, and if he could not forgive, he could at least move on, rater than be led by vengeance.

Mathias had spent years in the mountains, forgetting the cares of the world beyond his training. However, the world had not forgotten him. A mysterious organization tracked him to the temple, and attacked with an overwhelming force. The master might have been able to defeat them, but he was struck before they Mathias was even aware of the attack, run through with a blade. Mathias and Noel fled, fighting off scores of enemies along the way, but they knew they could not face them all. Noel was wondered in the leg, unable to run. Mathias was going to remain and fight, but she instead pleaded for him to continue to run, as he was who they were hunting. Removing an amulet she carried, she gave it to him with the request that he keep it safe, something he could not do if he died that day. Reluctantly, he tore his eyes from Noel's smiling face and escaped from the temple.

It has been 5 years since the attack. Mathias has traveled widely in search of clues as to the identity of those who invaded the temple. Despite knowing that even with his greater powers, he had failed to protect those important to him, Mathias did not feel the heat of hate or the cold of vengeance. Instead, he sought to simply ensure that the group could not hurt anyone again. He had come far from the day he left his village, only needing to hold the amulet he wore around his neck when he felt alone. However, it had been long since he ventured from his home. Perhaps it was time to return.

Holy smokes Merc, you're alive. With you, me, butter, and gdn on board, it's only right that we try to lure Whalio, Clayton, abyssal, and nerz back in as well.

@MATEOS: Great, big sign-up you've got there, although the whole elemental powers thing really doesn't feel like it'd tie with the factions or setting much, no offence. Then again, I wasn't so sure about ice powers and some of the other super-abilities either, but aaah, idk. :F (I do appreciate you both signing up, of course)

I disagree this sign-up is much more realistic then some of the other ones we have received *cough* complete invincible kato *cough* so if you are considering not adding this one then we are going to have to reconsider some of the other earlier sign-ups.

No I was just stating that Its odd how Drago thought Mateos was unrealistic when yours was there. There is no need to withdraw you're application. You have to learn to take criticism because if you post an odd application or story post then questions will be asked. Frankly withdrawing because of one Criticism will not benefit you well on this forum. Also it was a joke I made, Hence the *coughs*

Yeah, about making another character... I was in the process, didn't like him, and scrapped him. I was in the process of making yet another character, didn't like him, and scrapped him again. Then I just said "screw it, I'm too lazy to do this a third time" and stopped.2013-07-12 19:25:00

Oh dear..

I disagree this sign-up is much more realistic then some of the other ones we have received *cough* complete invincible kato *cough* so if you are considering not adding this one then we are going to have to reconsider some of the other earlier sign-ups.

Well, I was definitely reluctant about Kato's character at first, due to him having made Stanley invincible, but I think the fact that he was willing to make the character completely useless in practically every other aspects did make things pretty interesting still, and balanced things out plenty imo. Living for ages is typical in TCW series, so I don't really have a problem with Kuzanao, plus his mind control ability was clearly stated to be limited in use. Flem, while having some ice powers and other little fancy powers, still can't go crazy with them, and has been given a long-term disadvantage with the shortening of age.

The distinction between them and Mathias is that Mathias has the ability to bend/manipulate earth/water/air/fire, four individual elements, which, if anyone's watched shows like A:TLA or TLOK, could see that it can get very out of hand, I think that's what I was worried about. So having very broad powers without much disadvantage just had me a little reluctant, but I simply want to discuss this with him, not start up some whole controversy or whatever. These are simply my opinions, even if noone agrees with them, and I'm sure Mathias will still be a great addition to the story, even if he might need tweaking.

It's clear you do not approve of my character, so I withdraw my application. Goodbye.

I'm not sure what's the best way to start a reply to something like this. I'm busy every morning during the weekdays, hence my being late to responding, so I'll go ahead and say I'm sorry for that. I don't have problems with MATE's or Kato's character, but yes, I was reluctant at first. I think Stanley is still fine to participate given the fact that you did listen to feedback, and did make a good point about his downsides, and while I'm not trying to pick sides, I do think having someone who can't die is very interesting. If our reluctancy is what drove you away, I don't think that should be an issue. But if you don't want to be in the game anymore, I understand, but I also want to say that the door's still open in case you want to re-join.

So to make a long post somewhat less long, there's no need to leave, I'm sure we can all have fun in this game. I don't want to start debating which characters are more fit to be in than others, I simply want to make sure the game goes over smoothly, with it's characters fitting nicely into the story, while at the same time not being overpowered and such. I'm not saying MATEOS can't be in it, I'm not saying that at all, I just want a little clarification before things start, and perhaps a little tweaking, and everything should be hunky-dory, that's all. .-.

Hmmm. I've never taken part in a forum rpg before - could be cool! I'm definitely after something to get my writing back on track, perhaps a shot at this could help?

If nobody's averse to a newbie then expect an application from me when I figure a few things out (and read a couple snippets from previous wars. I know it's not required but good to get a feel for it )

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

....I mean, well, most everyone joining this reboot is new, so there's nothing to worry about there, ria. ^^ But yeah, nothing wrong with reading over some a little just in case (although you might want to look at the more recent wars, as they better reflect how this one will play out) If you still have any questions though, feel free to ask them here, or send me a message. I'll be happy to help if it means getting another writer on board.

I feel it's also worth pointing out that Kuzanao can die, just not by old age (so he can be shot, stabbed, etc.)

FUN FACT: He got the nickname "Shank" because not only is a part of the leg and he runs quickly, a "Shank" is a makeshift knife, as he is good with last-minute weapons

Okay what the heck let's give it a whirl!

-------------------

BASIC INFO
Name: Ava Jones
Age: 28
Faction: Sony
Faction Role: Medic - specifically:

Ava is an Emergency Medical Technician, still studying for her full Advanced Emergency Field Medic status. She is well versed in most forms of emergency treatment, but lacks experience on the field. Her years after college were spent working on medical transports and gaining experience rather than attending formal medical education, so she took the long way up the ladder, unlike some.

Though she is affiliated with Sony, Ava is far too low on the roster to have any real idea of what the 'men up top' are up to. She sees herself as 'the girl in the wings' - the support for the frontline. She understands that it's not her place to question the decisions made for her, but having never truly worked in combat situations, there's no way of telling how she'll cope with the reality of such things when the time comes.

DETAILED INFO
Appearance: Pretty plain looking save for her red hair and heavily tattooed body, Ava doesn't turn many heads. There's a story behind every tattoo.... whether she can remember all of them depends on the state of sobriety she was in whilst having the tattoo itself.

Personality: Ava is snotty, self assured and impatient. Her only goal is self-betterment, and she will bite at anyone who attempts to stall her. If she were to post a dating ad, it might read: "SWF seeks male for procreation. No funny business. No phone number."

Skills/Weapons: Mostly medical skills, including the use of defibrillator, suction, oxygen, entonox and basic emergency treatments for bleeding and shock..... well, you know, the usual stuff. She's a medic!

As for weapon usage.... who knows? Ava has never been in a position to use a weapon. She has no training, no experience and thus far, no one pointing a semi automatic at her face. Who knows what someone can be pushed to if the time should come.

Bio/Backstory: Tidbits are included above, but thus far, Ava is fresh on the scene. She was recently hired by Sony's faction to assist with medical duties in battle situations. She's just getting to grips with the people around her, her expected duties, and questioning why the factions are drafting so many people on board all of a sudden.

Hope that's acceptable!

Don't worry, after a few posts you start to sink into the story and all the tidbits that make it interesting.
Of course you can always take a more passive approach and take a ride on other's plots (if they don't mind). That was pretty much me and TheZimInvader on the third and fourth wars.

Great to hear! It really is a blast, and you don't need much experience to get into it. Once things get started, it should be easy to understand, and with all the people who've joined thus far, there should hopefully be many ways everyone can intertwine with someone else when the game starts.

Ehhh... I didn't really think about that. I could just pull a random year out, but since this is a fictional world (despite possibly having some sort of alternate history theme) I don't know if picking a specific year is really necessary. We can just make one up so if a future war says "X many years later" we know the date and stuff. Although if I say something like 2032, people probably will automatically think it'll be all futuristic, when in reality, it might not, since this is all fictional and whatnot. Does that make sense?

I think most people, including me, are new to doing this. Besides the more people the more glorious and valiant this War will be. OR gritty and dramatic depending on how you want to go about it.

EDIT: Shouldn't this have a theme tune or at least a song to play while reading the intro of the actual game.

Be my guest. xD (if ya want)

By the way, I remember abyssal trying to get everyone in Blackout to post a song that matched up with their character, and then once Blackout ended, you asked for us to give sort of a tune that would match up with our character's endings. (I think) So while we're passing the time until Monday night, you guys can feel free to post a song/tune that matches up with your character.

Bio/Backstory:

As far as Noel was concerned, life did not begin until the day she joined The Master in the temple. At the very least, her time before as a teenager living it up in the big city was over. The new Noel had only an amulet from her mother as a token of that life. She would continue to change from here, that is why she agreed to join The Master when he asked.

?You have a happy life, but it is incomplete? he had said, ?Join me and discover what you are truly capable of. Let me train you so you may be whole.?

Yes, she thought, I can be more. You said it, but I already knew it. Even before I teleported that girder so it wouldn't fall on the workers, I knew deep down there was something more. They're your words, but my wishes.

So her training began. In many ways it was different from what Noel expected. There were lectures on various subjects such as natural law, history, and philosophy. There were hours spent in meditation, where she tried to concentrate on the flow of energy in the world while ignoring the pangs of discomfort sitting on the hard floor. There was training in combat, studying many forms and styles, utilizing many weapons such as knives, swords, and staffs. Oddly enough, there were no guns or other modern arms for her to work with. Noel did take a liking to knives. There was a certain versatility to them, wherein she could throw them from a distance or confront her opponent head on as she chose.

Initially, the strangest aspect of Noel's training involved using her powers. It was several weeks before she was able to replicate the effect by moving a vase from its place on a table to the ceiling from which it fell to the floor with a crash. Unfortunately, she had been trying to move a rubber ball nearby.

The Master left her to rest after that. When he returned, he handed her a piece of paper. There was a symbol on it, two circles accompanied by two crescents. He had her copy it over and over again every day, discarding any with even the most minute errors in shape or scale. It went on for weeks, until Noel began seeing the symbol even in her dreams. Finally, she could transcribe it perfectly any time of asking. It was then that The Master had her place it on a knife.

?Your power requires you to understand every detail, every possibility inherent in your target,? he told her, ?but your vision is too narrow and you cannot focus on the entire thing. Instead, focus on this symbol, call it as you would the object, keeping the whole of it intact.?

The idea appealed to her. A roundabout way to call things to her without having to know every one of its features. So she tried. It was true, thinking of the mark took absolutely no effort on her part. She had spent too long staring at it for the shapes to not come second nature. But to keep the knife in that perspective without losing sight of the mark, all under The Master's expectant gaze, was almost too much.

Almost, but not quite. Noel simply needed to shape her mind into one that could see everything and nothing at the same time. Her meditation helped with this, calming herself until these factors were merely trivialities. Then she moved the knife. One second, it lay still on the table, the next, it was gone, only to reappear in her loose grip and clatter to the floor. Noel knew without looking that The Master's expression would be unchanged, but that did not stop her from turning with a smile.

__________________________________________________

The Master left several months later. Noel was practicing summoning while moving when he returned. There was a boy with him, about her age or younger, looking around the temple in amazement.

She got to know the boy, Mathias, over time. Together they studied, sparred, and learned to control their powers under The Master's tutelage. At first, Noel respected Mathias' wish to keep to himself. But after some time she realized that he didn't withdraw out of shyness. There was something in his eyes, held back behind his expression. A shadow lingered there, one whose cause she did not know.

She never actively questioned him about his past. In fact, Noel hardly changed her demeanor at all. She remained cheerful and energetic, subtly letting Mathias know that he was not alone. Constant companionship made them familiar with each other. Familiarity gave way to trust. Mathias eventually told her of his past, the attack on his village, the death of his father. From then she respected the strength, not of his powers, but of his ability to control the emotions he felt. In return, she told him of her life. While she had few exciting stories and none as tragic, they helped Mathias remember the happier times of his life. Just by being herself, she helped him heal.

Over time, they grew closer even than mere friends. Not that they viewed each other as boyfriend and girlfriend. Rather, they simply knew they belonged, forming a bond like a right hand and a left, joining to make a complete whole, themselves.

__________________________________________________

The day came when the temple was attacked. Noel didn't even know there was danger until The Master was struck down. She froze, and it wasn't until Mathias grabbed her, sounding so far away as he yelled for her to run, that she came back to herself.

They fought their way past several guards. The two were stronger but it didn't matter. The enemy was too numerous. Noel and Mathias were beginning to tire.

Finally, Noel was hit. Her leg felt aflame from the shot that pierced it. She fell to the floor as Mathias dispatched the remaining attackers in the corridor. He rushed to her side, calling to her to get up, bending to help her. Noel looked into his face. There was fear of course, and concern for her, but also the streak she had seen before. The shadow lingered in the recesses. She knew he would stay and fight, because there was no chance of her escaping on her bad leg. But if he stayed, he would die.

?Go!? she ordered, ?Get out of here, we'll split up, they can't get us both!?
Still he remained, ignoring her command. She considered drawing a knife and threatening him herself unless he would go.

Can I do that? she wondered, I just had my first glimpse of death and I panicked. Now am I the kind of person who can threaten my best friend to leave me to die?

She looked into his eyes again.
Of course I am. I'm not the same as I was before.

She did not draw a weapon. Instead, she held out the amulet from her mother, the final memento from a life now over.

?Take this,? she said, ?Hold onto it until we meet again so you can give it back.?
He took hold but still remained.

?You can't do that if you die here today!? Would she have to draw a knife after all? Can't he see how much I want him to live, regardless of the cost? He did. He understood. She could see how much it pained him, but finally he listened to her final wish, accepted her final gift.

__________________________________________________

It was only minutes later that reinforcements found Noel in the corridor, but she was ready. Utilizing the full force of her power, she summoned every weapon she had marked in the passing years and launched them towards her foes. Many dozens of blades cut the air in their path.

None of them hit their mark, instead ricocheting against an invisible barrier away from her targets. Noel maintained consciousness just long enough to see one of the invaders switch off a machine.

__________________________________________________

She awoke with pain radiating over her entire body, a side effect of overusing her powers. With effort, she lifted her head to find herself in a windowless cell. The only opening was through a metal door. Food was shoved though a slit near the bottom every day, but otherwise she was left completely alone.
That suited Noel just fine. It was several days before she felt that she regained enough strength to make her escape. She examined the door, taking in every detail she could. It was big, it was heavy, but she could move it.

She made the mark using a pebble she found on the ground, took a deep breath, focused her mind, and placed a hand on the door. She began to access the energies necessary to move it, but could not hold on, could not focus the power.

A bead of sweat dropped down the side of her face as she realized the implications. She would not accept it. Again and again, Noel tried to access her power, growing more desperate with each failed attempt. She tried over and over, practically slapping her hand on the door, the repeatedly punching it while yelling obscenities to the air. Finally, exhausted, her knuckles bloody, Noel collapsed to the floor.

The feedback of a speaker system. A voice in the air.

?Excellent, now we can begin.?

__________________________________________________

A month passed before Noel stopped bothering to keep track of the days. She was kept in constant solitary, except for the voice that would arrive at random intervals, mostly to keep her from sleep. Always it questioned, asking about her past, her powers, her training. Sometimes it asked about The Master, or even information on the Big 3 organizations. Whether she knew the answers or not, Noel never responded. Occasionally they would try to break her by heating the cell to an almost unbearable degree, or else drop it to a chill for seemingly endless hours. Sometimes, instead of the voice, the speakers let out a high pitched screech to deafen her. Still she held on.

It was many more days before Noel formed a new plan. She began ignoring the meals they brought her. New trays would fall over the old ones, spilling their contents to the floor. She took nothing, not even water, for days. Finally, she was able to access the energy she needed. She had guessed that they were drugging her food, but no food, no drugs. Still, her confinement and fast had left her weakened. Even though the mark was still on the door, she did not have enough reserves to use. Even if she got out of her cell, she would not be able to fight off the guards who would come.

So Noel would move one thing only. Herself. She gathered her remaining strength, tried to focus on everything she was, and imagined herself somewhere else. Anywhere else. Anywhere at all.

All of her went out, but not everything came back in. She appeared in the middle of an office, cuts covering her entire body, gashes in some places where parts of her could not make the transition. Numbed as she was by the pain, Noel was unaware of the workers scrambling about her, trying to keep her awake. She knew nothing of this, not even if she was free.

__________________________________________________

Again Noel awoke in pain. All parts of her body, everywhere at once. Except in one place where she was aware that she could not feel anything at all. With great will, she lifted her heavy head to look at her left arm. It was not there. In its place was a machine, a robotic arm, wires still expose, sending electrical signals where once vessels pumped blood.

?We had to amputate? a voice said. She did not look up. ?We were able to heal most of you body, but your arm was too damaged after...? the voice trailed off. Noel stared, seeing nothing for a time. It could have been seconds or hours to her. She began to laugh, first quietly, but rising to a deranged level. It was disturbing for the person in the room, to see the last of this Noel leave the world.

__________________________________________________

Executives from Microsoft visited her during her recovery. Their purpose was clear. They wanted payment. It was their technology and personnel that saved her life. In return, they wanted the full force of whatever power she possessed at their command.
She agreed.

Noel retrained her body, adapting to her new arm. The executives she met were impressed with her abilities. For years they funded games where the characters carried a plethora of weapons seemingly from nowhere. Now they had someone, mostly of flesh and blood, who could do the same in real life. She made several changes to the process. First, she added guns, explosives, and other arms to her training and arsenal. She also changed the mark she placed on every item she summoned. No longer did she use the symbol The Master taught her, but instead replaced it with the four squares of microsoft.

When she honed herself into a deadly fighting force, Microsoft employed Noel for infiltration missions, stealing or planting intel, assassinating key targets. She did all this with cold efficiency, earning the codename Shadow X. She went into the field alone, but worked with a team of three other people acting as her information banks. Together they could hack into many networks, and could access any Microsoft device or database to spy on the the user. This is why she remained. She would work with this team, accomplishing whatever task Microsoft set for her. But in the end, she would use them for her own purposes. Out there was information relating to a certain group. An organization responsible for the death of three people Noel once cared about. As years passed there was no sign of them, no trail to follow. But she was patient.

Her time would come. She would be ready.

“We had to amputate” a voice said. She did not look up. “We were able to heal most of you body, but your arm was too damaged after...” the voice trailed off.

Nice application but just one question, if you were to injure this character (break her arm or something) in theory she would not be able to use her teleportation powers because it requires concentration and her focus would be on the pain wouldn't it not?

In the case of where she was shot, I actually cut some lines where she blocks the pain but only because she accepted that she would die anyway. (In hindsight that was not such a great cut on my part).

To answer your question, yes. For many things. Something simple like a knife(most common weapon so she's used to moving it) may come through. Something like a gun(complex and summoned less often) would be beyond her if she is in Major Pain (ha). Anything could also be incomplete or not arrive where she intended. She would definitely have less multitasking ability. For instance, I mentioned she was training to summon while moving. Do something like break her arm or leg and she can definitely to a lot less of that.

That is a reason she carries weapons on hand, rather than summon evreything. It saves both energy and prevents situations where her powers don't work.

Granted her tolerance for pain may be at least a bit different. Put in perspective that she failed to move herself completely. I understated his but, that hurt, alot. She can still feel pain, she has no resistance to anything, but chances are she will have always felt worse. That could help in her mindset, keep her from panicking.

“You have a happy life, but it is incomplete” he had said, “Join me and discover what you are truly capable of. Let me train you so you may be whole.”

“Your power requires you to understand every detail, every possibility inherent in your target,” he told her, “but your vision is too narrow and you cannot focus on the entire thing. Instead, focus on this symbol, call it as you would the object, keeping the whole of it intact.”

“Go!” she ordered, “Get out of here, we'll split up, they can't get us both!”

“Take this,” she said, “Hold onto it until we meet again so you can give it back.”
He took hold but still remained.

“You can't do that if you die here today!” Would she have to draw a knife after all?

“Excellent, now we can begin.”

Wow, another great sign-up! Adding her to the list. Just to clarify, the only problems I had with Mathias is the idea that he could control four separate elements, and having watched Avatar: TLA which had a similar concept, things could get out hand having easy access to all the elements. Then again, I'm not sure if Mathias can only control one or all four but with limited use. But yeah, great to have you on board for this, MATEOS.

EDIT: Brb, better read what gdn's got now. :o

Believe me, I get it. I'm reworking Mathias as we speak. Right now the only thing standing between him and TLA status is the energy restriction. I'm adding more restrictions, dampening the power, and later ill establish exactly what last airbender shenanigans he will not be able to do.

Its in the process, hopefully be ready to edit the post later today.

Oh, okay. I don't want to seem peeved or anything, and I'm not rushing you either. I'll go ahead and add Noel and gdn's characters to the list.

One thing though. Kato, you should totally keep your character in.
Think of the crossover potential.

The angry assassin hell bent on revenge and kills anyone in the way meets the bumbling clutz with a heart of gold and cant die.

Probability of ensuing hijinks: Astronomical

I have a good idea for this (if not already used). How about each faction has a secret group chat (like ones used for a LBP level project) so that everyone can discuss their plans in private?2013-07-14 00:54:00

I suppose, but sending PMs to other members, allies/enemies alike, has worked out pretty well. Also, just because the factions will be against eachother, people from separate factions can still work together, and people on the same faction could also be working against eachother, etc.

Well, if you do want to try it, you're welcome to. I have nothing against the option, it certainly wouldn't interfere with any of the rules, I'm just not sure where one of these secret group chats are. :o It's certainly a neat idea, and if you link me to one of them, I'd be happy to post it in the O.P. for when the game begins, as an alternative to just sending other writers PMs. (or vice versa, depending on which option people would prefer.)

Click on you're profile and scroll down until you see "Groups". Then, click on "Join Groups", then click on "Create Group". Then make the group whatever you want to call it.

Ooh I see. Sorry, I thought you meant like some separate site. So wouldn't that mean we'd have to create three separate groups for each faction, plus one for unaffiliated? Plus people with multiple characters would have to switch between groups with different discussions...eeh. I'm too lazy to create something like that, but if you really want you can. Then again, that'd give either of us access to everyone's secret discussions, plus people are bound to have secret discussions with individual people. :F

Alright, if you guys wanna do it, that's fine. I guess I find PMs easier because most of my collisions might not be with a large group, and there will probably be intertwining I plan with just one character, hence why I wouldn't want to share it with the rest of the group, but again, giving the option for groups works too. Should I be the one to create them, or maybe a member from each faction creates one so there isn't that one person who has access to all group discussions?

Okay, so here's how things will work with the corporate empires. In case you're not sure where to start or like some fictional places to intertwine in your story, each faction will be given a capital city, as well as a back-up city. (a.k.a. another fictional place where forces of theirs reside.)

Thanks to the suggestions and beautiful inspirational pics from gdn, Microsoft's capital/back-up city has been decided, as has Sony/Nintendo's back-up cities. But Sony and Nintendo still need capital cities set up. And since time's a-ticking and I recently discovered that I'm terrible at making capital names, you guys can throw some suggestions out if you want. Would be nice to have something that's not just an obvious reference and such, but something cool, like Microsoft's fictional cities through the wars, known as "Old Natal" and "New Natal."

Guys, we're at fourteen writers right now, whereas TCW IV still has the most people to have joined up, sixteen to be precise.

We've got 32 hours to change that. :kz:

15/16 PARTICIPANTS CONFIRMED.

Name: Gideon Albatross, alias Jeremiah Frink
Age: ??? (Looks to be in his late twenties)
Faction: Sony
Faction Role: Engineer/Weapons Manufacturer

Appearance: 5'10", dark brown hair & eyes, well-built but not exceptionally muscular, hints of slight Hispanic heritage.
Personality: Usually keeping to himself, Gideon's pretty distrustful of others. However, he manages to keep a calm and charismatic aura about him in order to keep his cover. When it comes to morals, he isn't exactly a saint. His loyalty lies with whoever is willing to pay for it.
Skills/Weapons: Ever since his childhood, Gideon has had a knack for building and inventing things. These days he's a very gifted weapon/gunsmith. He's a quick thinker, but not much of a fighter. He always has a pistol on hand, just in case, but his current "project" of choice would be a peppermill-style Gatling gun.
Bio/Backstory: Gideon was raised by his mother alongside his two younger brothers in Lazarus, a quiet, small town located in the neutral zone. Growing up, his cleverness definitely showed in his schoolwork and early career work. As soon as he was old enough, Gideon was sent to work in the factories where he learned a great deal about various types of weaponry. Later on (during the Nintendo occupation of Lazarus), he realized that, at the current rate that tensions between The Big 3 were rising, the world wasn't about to get any better. He made a vow to earn enough money to take himself, his brothers, and his mom away from all that, and to give them a better life.

Gideon became a travelling freelance weaponsmith, taking full advantage of the rising conflicts. Perhaps he took a little too much advantage, as he quickly made many enemies and developed a bad name for himself. He continued his life on the move until a Sony representative offered him a deal he couldn't refuse. He changed his name to Jeremiah Frink and is now settled with small shop in a sketchy but generally quiet part of the outskirts of Sony's capital city. He's received news that Lazarus is now being occupied by Microsoft forces, but has yet to hear from his family. Hoping for the best, Gideon continues to strive for his (now very distant) dream.

And, if we're still on that subject of theme songs...

~ sign-up ~

:kz:

Sweet, good to see you're now officially on board, Frinky. I'll get you added to the list before I hit the sack, although we'll still need two more apllicants if we want to beat the fourth war's record.

Also, with only a day left and five writers now on board with Sony, I'm officially closing access to signing up for Sony. (unless it's for a secondary character) Basically this is just a sneaky tactic of mine for more people to go for Nintendo, since.. well, yeah, we need more recruits there. Also, if you guys have any suggestions for names for Sony/Nintendo's capital cities, feel free to say so here. I'm having a hard time coming up with capital names for those factions, and there's only a day left before we start, SO SUGGEST AWAY.

Sure, I'll go ahead and add vezon's and Frinkle's then. As to everyone else, find some fun tune to give to your character, and I'll be happy to add it to the list.

Guess you won't be seeing this until tommorow but I edited my post on Mathias. I reworked his skills/equipment and expanded his backstory, quite a lot actually. Sorry for the length. I'm treating this like a double long pilot episode at the start of a series. I'm also experimenting with changing writing styles between each character's story. You might have noticed the lack of imagery in Noel's story. This was on purpose partially to cut length but also becuase it kinda sorta matches the idea of her acting rather than lingering to view everything, figuratively speaking. On the otherhand, Mathias is a watcher, not as quick to make a move (under normal conditions) so there's more time for description. The result is having to fit in plot, character, and at least some visual descriptions, equaling longer writing. Plus the plot just got away with me. I would make a terrible editor.

I also added a companion animal becuase, well, the guy lived in a temple without technology and only two other people to talk to for 5 years. He deserves a puppy.
Not to mention he's like your basic fiction protagonist, and basic fiction protagonists get some sort of non-human companion.

And for the most important reason to edit, I dropped alot of power from him. I agree he was too strong before. I dropped the manipulating energy thing as well as the knives that make it easier to control it. I wrote his story from scratch twice and both times forgot to mention them, so they're scrapped. I also limited him to only using two elements in a single attack. He can switch between different uses of each of them but there will never be a giant vortex of doom inviolving them all.

Speaking of avatar...

Here's some stuff from the series I wanted to mention as it pertains to Mathias

Earth

No metalbending
No holding up giant temples from sinking into the sand
No Metalbending
No super powerful rampages that let four kids, one without powers and one not fully trained in his, fight their way past an entire army
NO METALBENDING

Air

No flight - can fall with style
No forming tornados or super giant, long lasting spheres of air - only small or moderately sized ones

Water

No bloodbending
No fullmoon buff - moon has no effect whatsoever
No pulling water out of the air
Also no "bending" plants but water may be pulled out, I don't want to eliminate it just yet (unless you'd prefer)

Fire

No lighting (actually decided this [and gravity powers] would not exist from the beginning)
Lava probably won't exist but i don't want to count it out just yet
No comet that inexplicably grants super duper party pooping powers
And that's that I think. Even with the stuff he can do, its all based on his energy at least.
Hope this helps legitimize him some.

Let me know if he needs more tinkering, I'd be happy to keep working on it if I can.

ONE MORE DAY.

Okay so here's my little fifteen window of opportunity after waking up and before I get dressed to head out & stuff for the next six hours or so to reply to what people's got here.

@flamingemu: Alrighty, I'll add it to the list ^_^ ((now or later))

@gdn001: Aah..yes, in fact, I'll be sending you something (hopefully before I head off) if that's alright, I just want to make sure I've got everything in check & stuff.. oh, and yeah, I'll add your tune to the list ((now or later))

@xxMATEOSxx: Thanks a lot, I'll read through the edited sign-up and make the changes to the player list when I get back. I'm glad you took my feedback with deep consideration, and while I can't read through all the changes right now, I certainly don't want to under-power your character. (But I'll probably go deeper into that once I get back with a bit more time on my hands..)

@Xtrahuman: I appreciate the enthusiasm, but we've still got one more day left (today) for any more people to sign-up. So yeah, the deadline is 11:59 PM, peeps (EST), so I'll either post TCW: Reloaded official thread when I wake up tomorrow morning or when I get home later in the day. ((no later than 2:00-2:30))

@Ryan86me: Sweet, I can't wait to hear what it sounds like. Oh, and to all you guys/gals, it's not like the theme needs to be sent in before sign-ups end and the game begins, it can be any point in the game, although if you would like some optional theme to listen to with some of your posts, sending one in early on might be beneficial.

*Explosions* *Gunfire* *Screaming*

I couldn't help myself. I'm in, if you'll have me. I've also invited Nerz as well, so, would it possible to extend the sixteen player cap to seventeen? Because I assume he may very well want to join.

Also, I apologize for pretty much leaving without saying a word in the middle of TCW 5, and also for replying this late, because I only found out about this thing half an hour ago.

I haven't thought of a character yet, but I'll aim to get a character bio up within a few hours.

And @rialrees, I'm glad you liked my posts in TCW:B. I'll try to keep them up to standard this time around.

To be perfectly honest, I completely forgot about the record mentioned earlier and read the numbers 15/16, later in the thread, and instantly thought: Cap. Haha, I'm such an idiot.

heres my character

Name: Cassidy Rayne (yes, hes a guy)
Age: roughly 30, but he thinks its ‘evil’ to not remember and stopped keeping track.
Faction: Microsoft
Faction Role: cleaner

Appearance: chiselled features, quizzical eyes and dark brown hair, looks aged but somewhat attractive. Tall and slender, fairly weak. Wears leather harness and holsters over a white suit shirt. Over the top he wears a black coat that reaches to just above his knees. Has a small hummingbird called Paarthurnax (named after the dragon atop the throat of the world in a classic video game ‘Skyrim’ in a tiny cage around his neck.

Personality: He wants to be a standalone villain due to some serious internal conflict issues. He believes himself to be devious, but really he just ends up in the right place at the right time (or the right place at the wrong time) hates all factions, hates most people. Warped concept of love. Has intense disregard for Paarthurnax’s wellbeing, despite the bird himself being incredibly attached and loyal to him.

Skills/Weapons: Carries a musket, a pouch of gunpowder and ammunition (concealed). Supposedly Paarthurnax can ‘Shout’. At least that’s the story he tells at bars.

Bio/Backstory: He had every kind of mental illness treatment known to man as a child and all it did was mess him up more and more. He came out feeling confused and alone, but as the world continually spat in his face he grew hardened to it, and bitter. The bitterness got completely mistaken for a desire to be evil after a long bout of opium smoking. He’s now fixed on climbing the ranks at Microsoft ((Idk what the main building for Microsoft is, but he cleans up on the basement levels)) and taking the company for himself, if some other evil opportunity doesn’t arise first.

HOLY CRAP WHY DOES ALL THE GOOD STUFF HAPPEN WHEN I'M GONE.

Abyssal finally got back on LBPC and is joining this game. Somehow she hooked up with nerz and got HIM back into this game. With both on board, we just shattered console war records, and, and, and....

-Crap, I have to leave again. ._.

Still though, this is flipping amazing. I'll read MATE's edited post when I get back, add all those tunes, yes flame added battle tunes are fine, also abyssal I must ask if you'd be so kind as to join nintendo since Sony and MS have enough writers each and I'd like to at least get one more person to join Ryan, butter and I over on Team N.

I don't want anyone to have to change factions because of the number mix-up. (Even though I'd love to somehow intertwine with your character ria) Same goes for you Xtra, although if you haven't already decided and would like to join Nintendo, that'd be great. But again, your choice.

Also, expect lots more news by the end of the day to uhh, prepare you for tomorrow. Also, does anyone have suggestions for capital city names for Sony and Nintendo? I want as many suggestions as I can get to pick the bestest name there is before Reloaded officially starts tomorrow.

Thank Swiss/Techzoors/Cheddars for notifying me through Steam. If he didn't say anything this wouldn't have happened. And me and Nerz have been online friends for ages, so it wasn't exactly too hard to reach him.

But I have one more surprise under my sleeve. And it might not work. But it might. And if it does it may very well make your day.

Name: Jackson Taylor
Age: 23
Faction: Nintendo
Faction Role: Nintendo's Geek Squad (hencefor called Nintendo's Console & Handheld Repair and Maintenance Division)

Appearance (at job): Khaki pants, white shirt with a Nintendo logo on the right breast, and lensless glasses (to look smart).
Appearance (everyday): An unbuttoned jacket like this, but one size too big. (http://www.6pm.com/prana-belay-insulator-brown) Underneath is a white pocket t-shirt with a necklace tucked into the pocket. He wears old blue jeans and inherited (stolen) shoes from his father. His brown hair is usually messy and unkempt, but is always a bit on the short side. His green eyes are usually considered judgmental and few ever look directly into them for an extended period of time.
Personality: Bipolar. He can switch from cold and unforgiving to kind and joyful to the biggest smart alec in the world, partially due to his extreme visual hallucinations.
Skills/Weapons: Is very familiar with most consoles' hardware, more so than his superiors even. Tends to be very charismatic, in that unsettling, sociopathic way. Once shot a BB gun at a rabbit.
Bio/Backstory: Jackson's hallucinations were there for as long as he could remember. It wasn't exactly a giant selling point for an orphan though, and he lived in an orphanage until age seven, when he was adopted by two religious fanatics. He was never interested in their gods and rituals however, and at seventeen, managed to get kicked out of the house for being in a romantic relationship. With nowhere else to go, he headed to his aunt's house in , where he managed to get a job at Nintendo's Console & Handheld Repair and Maintenance Division. He has been working there ever since, dreaming to one day join Nintendo's console development branch. Also, he has a pet turtle named Michael.

Why didn't you call this The Console Wars: [I]Rebooted gosh darnit.

Holy crap Clay's back.

That means... that means we have every main member from blackout now... EXCEPT WHALIO. EVERYONE SPAM HIS PAGE UNTIL HE JOINS.

Okay, so I'm back, and that was awesome, and... wait, Jackson's back? Just making sure you won't sneakily morph Jackson Taylor in Reloaded to the Jackson Taylor we know and hate in Blackout/TCW5. Also, I chose reloaded because it sounds matrix-y, and I was hoping people would catch on that it's reloaded, as in "the gun was reloaded." You know, it allows for interpretation on the weapon side of things and the sci-fi side of things, so yeah, I thought it fit well. Anyway, adding you and nerz to the list finally.

I've been trying to do so for the past hour, but his Steam doesn't have a comment box for anyone who isn't already friends with him, so I sent him a friend request. Might as well try his LBPC page.

I certainly appreciate it, thanks abyssal. Which reminds me, I'll have a little "Special Thanks" section in the O.P. when the game begins, to thank several people for all their efforts. (including you, gdn, and many others) Also, to anyone here who played through TCW IV, I'll go ahead and say that The Console War Newsroom will be returning.

Every week, I'll post a new issue, recapping the events that occurred for everyone. What makes this different from the news reports in TCW 5 is that it used a faction point system, which I won't be using for this reboot. (Not that future wars can't use it, I just want to keep the game mechanics relatively simple at first, and then whoever hosts the next game can decide what's best.) So the newsroom will basically be a way to recap everything going on through the war, on a week-to-week schedule. I'll probably try updating it every monday night, to allign with us starting on tuesday. (a.k.a. tomorrow)

And now for some music madness.

With Mathias being our basic fiction protagonist, I can't help but make the jump to basic shonen anime hero. and when I think anime, eventually I'm going to hit DBZ. Combine with video games and i think this one fits.

Noel was a tougher find. There's a few that I think could work but for some reason or another decided to drop. Normally I'd prefer just instrumentals so I don't have to worry about lyrics, but I decided to settle with this cut of Devils Never Cry.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a1c74euB5w

Ignore the scream bit at the end.

I also have an ending song picked but since any plans I have for the story are written on water, I'll have to hold onto it for te time being.

So we can have an unaffiliated second character right?

Name: Enn
Age: 35
Faction: unaffiliated
Faction role: lone warrior

Appearance: Black jacket over a plain white t-shirt, black as the night jeans with a golden belt.

Personality: Unforgiving, brutal and can be the deadliest guy around however he does occasionally show signs of human feelings, such as sympathy or compassion. (Emphasis on Occasionally) Will do whatever it takes to win and will always get up after being knocked down, he is just that ruthless.

Skills/weapons: Extreme strength, stamina and persistence. However this can often lead to his downfall as arrogance takes over. He carries whatever weapon he finds useful at any given point of time. He will kill you with a gun and a Paperweight if required.

Bio: Wanted for special position in Nintendo. Declined and now he is on the run.....

http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp312/Whaaaaale/whaletcw_zps6bcf4878.png

Name: Edin Jr. Cappuccino
Age: 24
Faction: Unaffiliated

Appearance: Standing at a height of five feet eleven inches and weighing in at one hundred seventy-four pounds. Edin Jr. doesn't look any different from the 'norm'. He has blue eyes, and dark brown hair. His taste in clothing is also normal. On more casual days he likes to wear a t-shirt and some shorts or jeans. However he is usually seen wearing a buttoned up shirt, and some jeans. Sometimes he likes to wear a tie, even though it is always crooked.

Personality: His personality is like his fathers... Of course, what he remembers anyways... He likes to stay quiet, tries to blend in with the crowd. He does not try to garner any attention, he does what he needs to do to get through the day and likes to stay in his comfy abode whenever he can. Who could blame him? His father passed away when he was seven and he never met his mother. In fact, the only reason Edin Jr. didn't end up in a ditch somewhere, being chewed up by some local strays, was because of the money he inherited from his father.

Skills/Weapons: No weapons, his skills are somewhat ordinary. Although since he has so much spare time, he is pretty knowledgeable about most things. Lots of reading.

Backstory: Edin's story is mostly mysterious, even to himself. He doesn't remember much about what happened to his father or why he would always talk about some guy named Michael, and then proceed to go to the bathroom to cry for a few minutes, come back and pretend nothing was wrong. He also didn't know why his dad loved that stupid turtle so much. Sometimes he swore his dad loved that turtle more than he loved him. After his father passed, Edin tried to find out what had happened all those years. He felt his dad lived a double life and wanted to know more. Unfortunately for Edin, he couldn't find much about him, and going through his dad's stuff didn't help either. So he ended up just trying to remember the good things about his dad, and learned to forget about the hidden life he had probably lived.

HOLY MACROLL WHALIO IS HERE.

So like, everyone from Blackout (well, those who stuck with it) are here. That is so. Freaking. Great.

But seriously Clay/Whalio. Are you trying to mess with our heads by reusing Edin, Jackson, and Michael's names? And the reading through the father's journals bit, and the turtle, and.. oh man this is weird. (but great) Just remember Edin Jr.'s father can't exactly be Edin Cappucino from Blackout, since by reboot this isn't just starting over with the same events, same characters, thingamabobs, etc., but a different earth with different capitals and such. But yeah, I'm very interested to see how this all goes. (Adding you to the list in a bit.)

Okay, TWO THINGS:

1. I updated Gideon's character info. (I literally just switched out the name 'Esperanza' for 'Lazarus' xD).
2. I have another very minor character I'd like to include. I wasn't even planning on making a bio for him, but then I figured, WHY NOT?

Name: Atlas Albatross
Age: ???
Faction: Unaffiliated
Faction Role: AI/Robotic Companion

Appearance: 1'6", humanoid robot, large green LED eyes, detachable/'upgradable' limbs, kind of bulky and clunky.
Personality: Although Atlas is 'intelligent' by definition, he is severely lacking in street smarts. He's a curious little fella, and very analytical as well. Despite his seemingly cold robotic shell, his feelings are sincere.
Skills/Weapons: The original plan was for the ATLAS units to have an arsenal of interchangeable arms and legs that came equipped with different weaponry. However, since Sony stopped funding Project ATLAS, there isn't much Atlas can do. Apart from unfinished weapon upgrades, Atlas is very intelligent (as one would expect).
Bio/Backstory: Atlas is a tiny little thing. Gideon created him when a group of Sony representatives commissioned him to design and build small autonomous robotic spies for use on the field. It was to be nicknamed Project ATLAS. Unfortunately, its AI wasn't exactly what Sony had in mind. They were looking for something more along the lines of mindless warrior. Programmed with tons of emotion and morality, the ATLAS units were rendered useless to Sony's cause. The models were disposed of, apart from one, "Atlas", who now lives with Gideon in Sony's capital city.

...BUT SRSLY. You don't have to include this one on the list if it's feeling too cluttered up there or something. He probably won't amount to very much of anything. This is just nice for me to have. xD

Alright, I'll make the adjustment to Giddeon. Also, adding Atlas to the list is fine. I will admit that the list is getting filled up quite heavily, but na I can toss this one in. xP Very cool character I must admit, although now we've got three robots/cyborgs associated with Sony. (Trevor, amoney, and Atlas) Possible robot model intertwin-ation battle later on?

And uh, yeah, I guess I'll start adding everything I forgot to to the player's list. THEN I will start my opening post. Blarf.

EDIT: Btw, thanks for going ahead and bolding each segment of the sign-up. ^^

Okay, so sign-ups end at 11:59 PM tonight, in eastern standard time. Then sign-ups begin tomorrow, in Eastern Standard Time. Because I'll be busy in the morning, expect to see everything posted somewhere between 2:00-3:00 PM EST. I'm not sure what time zone you're in exactly, but I searched London time zone, and it says that the current time is around 12:15 AM. So basically the game begins in about 19-20 hours from now. So technically, it should be "tomorrow" for Londoners as well, only at 7:00-8:00 AM.

Some of it was found and shown to me gdn. The rest I found on deviantart and google images. Thank you kindly btw.

But anyway though, don't let any of these art pieces mess with your story. Each city should still allow for a good bit of interpretation, but I just want to get the writing juices flowing inside of everyone, while also giving each faction options of where to start and such.

HOLY SMOKES I BETTER SIGN UP FOR THIS.

Name: Virgil Lee
Age: 30
Faction: Nintendo
Faction Role: Political Chairman/Field Ops Expert

Appearance: Caucasian yet tan with dark brown hair and blue eyes. There are a couple scars lined across his face, as well as some kept hidden under his clothes. Given his role for Nintendo, Virgil usually will dress nicely but is very adaptable with his wardrobe, in case he is visiting other countries. Casual clothing at home and a suit & tie at work should do the trick.
Personality: Well-versed in his speaking and methodical in his actions. He can warm up to the right people and will try to keep calm under the circumstances. Despite some tragic events that had occurred in his life, Virgil can typically stand his ground and remain psychologically stable in extreme events. He still keeps to himself and doesn't let too many things get in the way of his job though.
Skills/Weapons: Experience in multiple forms of martial arts, fairly good at using a firearm. No superpowers known of or anything like that, but he does try using his brain a lot.
Bio/Backstory: Not much can be said about Virgil at this point. He's worked for Nintendo for several years, working his way up and helping represent what Nintendo's about. He's gotten himself involved in the political and console-based religious side of many debates while not becoming too involved in the media's iron grip.

EDIT: Thought this would be a nice song for a tone like a war like this. :o

~ le song ~

Is that your character's theme song?

I'm done...

Ah, it appears I've been writing for five hours...

And, it also appears that it's over 2 A4 pages long. I apologize, but I got a bit carried away and couldn't help myself.

BASIC INFO

Name: Nathan "Nate" Outland.

Age: 29.

Faction: Nintendo.

Faction Role: Lead game designer at Nintendo's flagship subsiduary studio.

DETAILED INFO

Appearance: Male. Six foot two. Ectomorph. Black skin. Unkempt stubble. Frameless glasses. Short, flat mohawk, with the rest of his hair buzzed. Maintains a permenant “Bored with your ****.” expression.

Bio/Backstory:
When Nate was young; he lived, ate and breathed video games. Literally. At the age of two, he had joyfully consumed half of his older brother's DS game library. One particularly stubborn cartridge had lodged itself within the gap between his throat and trachea, requiring invasive surgery. The procedure left him with a permanent defect within his lungs, treatable only by the mechanized breath of an inhaler. Eventually this all consuming interest, being mental in addition to physical; had dragged him into sporadically quitting his job stacking shelves at his resident Walmart and pursuing indie game development, full time. This apparent lack of forethought had resulted in being openly ridiculed by former colleagues, cast aside by former friends and eventually, brazenly disowned by former family.

After half a decade or so of slumming it in a studio flat on the wrong side of the tracks, he had released his twelth game. It hadn't sold enough, anywhere near enough, to cover the rent. So, to Nate's surprise, a few weeks later, he was approached by a Nintendo executive, who had stated that he had flown out to personally offer him a lead designer role on a well established I.P. Said Nintendo executive had arrived over an hour later than intended, to witness Nate being spectacularly thrown out onto the curb. His flat was on the third floor. Nate; crumpled on the concrete sidewalk, legs buckled beneath his slender frame akin to a particularily grotesque voodoo doll, signed the papers, and by doing so, signed away his life, in return for the assurance of it's preservation. You might now be preoccupied with thinking that, such an occurence surely couldn't be a coincidence, could it? Why, yes. It could. Said Nintendo employee had arrived an hour late, because he had gotten lost. Y'see, it's rather hard to distinguish which side is the right side of the tracks, and which side, is the wrong side of the tracks, when the tracks in question had been harvested for scrap metal two weeks previously.

It was soulless work. But it paid. And after the sheer amount of Facebook friend requests he had received in the space of the following month, he had decided to drop the word, former, from his vocabulary. He also decided to drop the words, "friends" and "family". What was the saying, again? Forgive, but never forget? So, of course, Nate chose to forget, but never forgive. Yeah, he forgot. Forgot that they even existed in the first place.

After spending a good half hour trawling through the sea of messages clustering up his inbox, his favourite of which, had to be: "My phone got flushed down the toilet three years ago and I didn't have your number written anywhere other than my contacts even though I've like known you since we were in fifth grade together and remember that time that there was that big test on state capitals and I loaned you my notes cos YOLO and suddenly out of the blue I decided to Google you and wow you've done well for yourself so what's up man do you want to hang out sometime I'm free tomorrow but tonight's good if you can't make tomorrow wait don't you live in Japan now oh well it doesn't matter you can fly me out right?" he came to a rather concerning conclusion. Every single person he had ever known, was a complete d-bag. And every single person that they themselves had ever known, was an even bigger d-bag. Which meant that, due to the highly scientific nature of probability; he was almost certain that he was also a complete d-bag. And POP! went the existential crisis.

He had then proceeded to go through one of his old phones, for old time's sake, sequentially ticking off every person he had ever met against every person who had ever messaged him. Bar his parents; who didn't know how to work that newfangled Bookface thing on the interweb, and had chosen to bombard him with three figures worth of two dollar a time voicemails, (He was going to request that they send a cheque to cover the damages, and by request, he meant demand, whilst holding the threat of a court case over their unrespective heads for good measure.) there was only one person who hadn't contacted him. A woman by the name of Ava. He assumed that she still thought he was a worthless piece of ****. He liked that. So he contacted her.

They would have lived happily ever after from then on, if the beauty that is crunch time didn't exist. A day of crunch had extended into a week, then a month. Two months lapsed into three, then six, into a year, two years. They had stopped referring to the mind numbing, back breaking void as crunch. It was just game development. An eighty hour week was child's play. Better than the guys at Sony, who had been confirmed to work ninety, or the devs at Microsoft, who had been rumoured to work a hundred. They were getting off easy, as far as they were concerned. They were making games. Better than placing boxes on a conveyor belt, or taking out other people's trash, right? And anyway, they could leave at any time.

Ava did. Nate didn't. In fact, none of the development team did. Except for one individual.

The individual in question was a shrunken gentleman by the name of Kenji, holding the position of Art Lead, at the ripe old age of sixty seven. He calmly walked into the manager's office, bowed, and explained that he wanted to spend more time playing games with his grandkids, not making them. He then proceeded to tender his resignation, bow once more, and leave the office.

The manager didn't utter so much as a syllable of protest.

Two weeks later, when he finally walked out of that hellhole, he had died of a heart attack. Just keeled over; right before he'd even reached the very first set of stairs.

They say that you learn something new every day.

Nate never knew that a .50 Calliber bullet could induce a heart attack.

Is that your character's theme song?

If you could call it that yes. How exactly do I incorporate it into the story? Do I just play that song when you know, something ba******* happens or something? :3

EDIT: Abyss, you should seriously make a book. That was amazing. Welcome to Microsoft.

EDIT #2: We should get a book publisher to publish all the console wars o_O

BASIC INFO
Name: Swiss
Age: 32
Faction: Nintendo
Faction Role: Engineer (Manufacturing & Development)

DETAILED INFO
Appearance: Adorns the official Nintendo employee garment which consists of a pristine tucked-in, white-collared shirt and tie as well as tidy khaki pants that he regularly irons every morning.
Personality: Both officially (by physicians) and unofficially (by many displeased co-eds), Swiss has been diagnosed with a severely unusual case of OCD. Swiss' obsessive nature seems to come and go with the wind but is particularly noticeable at times when stressed or focused on a particular situation where he becomes an extremely agitated and disagreeable character.
Skills/Weapons: Carries around a backpack that contains an array of handy tools and instruments that includes a small pot cooker and portable ironing set.
Bio/Backstory: Is generally disliked by the majority of the division due to his OCD nature.

((I'll probably add more character/background to Swiss later on in the story but this should give an idea of what he's like.))

Crap. I forgot your character was called Ava. I just looked through a list of popular girls names online, because I couldn't think of a name, and Ava jumped out at me. Probably because of the deja vu of your character being called Ava and being a female medic, myself also having written a female medic in the last TCW.

But that gives me an idea. What if we crossover at a later date? Might be interesting. Or alternately, if you think our plotlines might not merge so well together, I could simply request that DV change the name?

I see your closed and raise you a finished application.

Name: Hope Tanner
Age: 30
Faction: Microsoft
Faction Role: President
Appearance: 5'8, Blue eyes, Bright green Xbox dress shirt, rolled up sleeves; Jeans. (Much more casual than Jack I might add.) Black hair; ponytail (I'm not yet adept at giving full facial descriptions.)
Personality: - Passive Aggressive; usually avoids physical confrontation if the option arises, and instead uses her snake-like tongue to get what she wants from other people, and always has someone standing by to do her dirty work. This is usually to maintain an image of power rather than to mask what she can do on her own.
- Tries hard to get people to trust her, but still doesn't easily trust people; often more hostile towards those she knows than those she doesn't
- Nothing is ever perfect for her, and she must always come up with better ways to handle situations, yet despite this is very optimistic.
Skills/Weapons: 5 years of combat experience as a sniper for the MS military. Usually carries around a modified M9 baretta.
Bio/Backstory: Came into Microsoft military service at the age of 23 after unsuccesfully searching for a job in business. Obtaining destintion in her 5 years of service, and the rank of Staff Seargent, she later became an invaluable asset in upper management, with her combat and business knowledge. After the spot of CEO opened up in Microsoft, she quickly jumped into the race, winning over the rest of the company and voters with her "Have Hope" campaign and new policies to allow better jobs and cheaper games while maintaining profit. The one year anniversary of her instatement is about to arrive, and she's incredibly anxious to relive the glory and excitement of that time, so who knows what she might do...

Figured as much lol. But let's call it a happy coincidence - I'd like to do a crossover Ava's history is fairly underdeveloped atm so there's no problem adjusting it a little to fit (ie making her an ex-game dev?) - send me a pm if you like and we can figure out when it might work as we go along i guess

@Ryan86me: Thank you kindly Ryan. ^^ Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for Kuzanao (and everyone else's stories to begin. I'll get on those first posts right now.)
@abyssalassassin: Yeah, I can change her name. Just tell me what I should change it to, and I'll be happy to.
@Shooter0898: Heh, glad to see you're excited. Just remember to ask other writers before trying to damage their characters too badly. Also remember, when the game begins, the factions won't be at war yet. It's our job together to spark conflict and bring them into war.
@Merc: Hold your spot in the cast only to edit it after the deadline to be considered the last to sign up? Classy.
rialrees: Yes, crossovers. Crossovers are good and important in this game.

Also, here's Virgil's theme. Not only is the tune epic, but Pacific Rim helped me muchly in my writer's block phase as this was going through sign-ups. :kz:

It doesn't need changing. I've discussed it with Rialrees and we've decided to crossover.
