Sackbot Sensors (SOLVED)

Archive: 9 posts

Is there a way to make a "require all" sackbot sensor that acts the same as the player sensor and also works on a "same Layer" basis? I only want a section of my level to activate when all players (in their bots) are stood in this small area thats in the back 2 layers. Also is there a way to only turn on controllinators when you want them to display the triangle prompt? Thanks.2013-06-30 00:00:00

For the Sackbots I would try this:
Place a tag on each bot, and name each tag (player 1, player 2, etc)
On a microchip, place a tag sensor for each sackbot tag you've made. Connect all of those to an AND gate, it should function like the "require all" player sensor. Place the microchip in the layer you want.
*I haven't created in LBP2 for a while, but I think you can set tag sensors to be layer specific.

For the controllinator, again I may be a little rusty, I'd try:
Connect a Toggle to the controllinotor's "eject" input. When the toggle on, the controllinator will be set to eject and therefore inoperable. When the toggle is off the controllinator should function normally.
Depending on how you want this to work, you might be better off using a Selector or other switch instead of the Toggle.

This would work assuming that there were always 4 players playing the level. I have an idea that would work no matter how many people were playing if that's more what you'd need, so just shout if want me to explain.

The method described by Pookachoo used the Tag labels just as examples, I believe The labels could just as easily have been Sackbot 1, Sackbot 2, etc.
Combining specific Tag Sensors with an AND gate is a great way to simulate the "Require All" tweak of the Player Sensors.

You could create a Tag Sensor and set it to require [insert number here] amount of tags to activate it. Though you would have to create 8 separate Tag Sensors determine if 1-4 players are playing & if 1-4 players are in the trigger zone.2013-07-01 08:45:00

Here's how I'd do it:

A tag on each bot, let's call it "Bot".

4 tag sensors (infinite range), all called "Bot". Each tag sensor set to a different number of tags required (ie 1-4). Connect each of those to a new tag, call it "Bots in level" (or something.... whatever), and number them 1-4 as per the number of tags required. This will recognize how many bots are in the level.

Then connect each of you "Bots in level" tag sensors to their own AND gate. To the other AND input connect a local "Bot" tag sensor (ie one that just covers the area in question). The number of tags required for each of these local "Bot" tag sensors should match the amount of the corresponding "Bots in level" sensors.

Does that make enough sense? It does in my head.

The controllinator: in terms of triangle prompt, pookachoos should work as long as u have it set to not automatically pull u in.

For the 1st pook was also dead on. Great job panda.

has this been solved yet? If so please post that its been solved!! In the thread title
