Tl;dr - G.ay Marriage is no longer discriminated on a federal level, and the earlier courts decision on Prop 8 being unconstitutional stands. Effect? G.ay Marriage is now legal in california, and federal benefits are given to all *** couples regardless of home states view on marriage.

Thoughts?

Also, why is there a filter on g.ay?

Hm, nah, I don't want to view fox news comments on something like this.

I want to have SOME semblance of faith in humanity, after all.

What's the point, you'll lose it eventually.

The last straw for me was some of the more insane people on tumblr.

Well, I mean that I have a somewhat happy mood at the moment, and I don't want to dampen it by reading that stuff.

There are lots of benefits that same-sex partners are excluded from; If a male US citizen wants to marry a man from another country, his partner wouldn't be eligible for a green card under current US law...lots of things like that that a lot of people are not even aware of.

DOMA was really just another layer of discrimination against against same-sex couples as same-sex marriage becomes more accepted in the US, so it was never going to last long.

As long as everyone is a consenting adult, I see no reason to say they can't do it. So the slippery slope argument doesn't work.

I even think that, if three or more people want to be in a relationship, why should the government stop them? The only thing is that giving them all legal equality in a three person relationship would be a nightmare, but same sex marriage could just have them take the rules for regular marriage and be done with it.

But yeah, refusing entry to hospital rooms is just almonds :/

Another step in the right direction for something that really shouldn't take this much effort to get done.

Guessing that it was put in long ago on the assumption that it would be used by idiots to go hurr thats ***. Really it should be unfiltered and apropriate action taken for incorrect usage.

Well I am a conservative, but I don't want people to discriminate homosexuals for being different. We should be done with prejudice since the 1960's, including against homosexuals.

Oh, and I hope WBC (the hate group) gets silenced since the DOMA law is thrown out.
