Better late than never, here’s the delayed Episode 114 of the Community Spotlight. Those pesky squirrels may have done for the site (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=80485-About-LBPC-s-recent-downtime) for a few days but they’re not going to stop the Spotlight in its tracks. We’re back with the best of the Level Showcase, slightly bloodied (the Vita Spotlight will have to be held over until the next Episode… but essentially unbowed. Spotlight Crew 2: Squirrels 1, I guess… NO! Hold the front page! A late rally by the Vita Crew means that the whole Spotlight is ready to go! Phew, skin of your teeth stuff!

Without further ado, on with the spotlight (and please pretend you don’t all already know the contents)!

Well, I don't know what I can say that would convince you to play this level, as I'm quite sure every one of you have already played this...this wonderful piece of art. For those of you who have been living under rocks, I suppose I will tell you what you can expect. You take control of a lovable owl who is finds himself deep within a mine and in order to make it out, you will have to solve numerous ingenious puzzles throughout the level. Obviously your owl can fly, but you will also have to control it on the ground, rolling hither and thither to solve more puzzles and to avoid dangerous mine type obstacles. The atmosphere that SnakeOwl has created is really cool and you'll find yourself many times, going, "Wow! Would you look at that!" Excellent level. Play it if you haven't and you have, well, play it again!Owl Mine is a wonderful work of art. It's gameplay is unique and it's style is beyond awesome. In this level you are an owl in a mine. You control it by flying about and even rolling. As you go about solving puzzles in order to continue on with the level. This level is so far one of my favorites by SnakeOwl everything from the atmosphere to the gameplay is really cool and awesome. You should all play this level if you haven't yet. This is one level if you have not played it yet your missing out.My adorable little owl has gotten himself into a jam after bringing home some din din. This was a cuddly cute level from the great Snakeowl and wow the level layout was exceptional from the asthetic feel that the choice of materials and color scheme for the various obstacles that lie before your winged adventure all the way up to the utilization of the layers while controlling a sprite based character. Amazingly well executed and very deserving of every heart, Yay, and Play this level will receive.

http://i3.lbp.me/img/bl/a9389cd46beda678d9932a33e887e8c4467d04ca.png"Ribbit-Ribbit Racing"KomodoBrothersFirst things first, you DO NOT need the Playstation Move to play this level! Use the Right Stick and the R2 button to control your frog buddies to get the best time in this brain crane race! Checkpoint and frog logic all thanks to SharpShot925 (Check my hearted list to find him) and ChessGuy for logic and ideas. Get a score of 35,000 for the costume!

Four and half years I've been playing this game and I'm still amazed by what people can come up with! This challenging platformer has your character plodding along, trying to make it to the scoreboard, but to reach your goal you must use your Brain Crane allies. "But, but, Biorogue, I don't have a Move Controller!" Why the heck not!? Erm, I mean, no problemo faithful reader, for in this level, you don't need it! At certain points, little frog guys will pop down to help you with their fancy head gear. Now, you control these guys' brain crane and use it to manipulate the environment and/or to move yourself around the level. It's gets fairly challenging but with a little patience, you can soon master the controls and find yourself at the scoreboard. Don't deny yourself this treat! Play it now!If, like me, you’re one of those people who have trouble patting their head and rubbing their stomach at the same time, then you may struggle with this level, at least to begin with. The little frogs that pop up everywhere come equipped with brain cranes, ready to hoist you or chunks of the level around the place. It’s not as easy as it sounds, though, believe me! An overzealous sweep of the right analogue stick will send you flying into a wall of spikes; any delay getting those platforms raised in time and you’re headed for disaster again. It may take a little patience to get the hang of things but you’ll have a whole lot of fun in the process! Don’t take too long though, as this is a race and the clock’s ticking against you. This is a level rich in both charm and challenge, so get it queued and get ribbit-ribbit racing!take a bunch of frogs with Brain cranes and I think you would get this. Welcome to Ribbit-Ribbit racing, a puzzle style platformer. That puts your skills to the metal, this challenging platformer is incredibly fun and exciting as you try not to get spiked by all the spikes that want you dead. What makes this level better is you don't need a fancy move controller thingy. So what are you waiting for get this level on your que and play it today!

http://ic.lbp.me/img/bl/8cc32eeafb23f73b901f8e0f6fe92617da724838.pngFists Of Fury (1P only)MicGorbachevLBP meets Kung Fu Hustle. Use your kung fu moves to smash your way across the city. 1 player only to avoid lag.

MicGorbachev is back! And with a vengeance it would seem. You take to these mean streets as a young Kung Fu apprentice who must learn the necessary moves to fight your way through the city. Speaking of the city, Holy Moly! MicGorbachev has crafted a marvel to look at here. With its beautiful downtown lights and signs to the backstreets and alleys, there is a load of details to feast thine eyes on. Traversing the city won't be easy though, as bad guy after bad guy will be coming out of the woodworks to test your skills. Now, if that isn't good enough, if you're old enough to remember it, the background music is from Hong Kong Phooey! Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy. Hong Kong Phooey, quicker than the human eye. I love it! I think you will too.Sometimes a level is just so much the sum of its parts that it’s hard to single out any one element – it’s the package as whole which is awesome. This is so true of this level but if you put a gun to my head, I’d say that for me the cherry on the cake was the music. It gives the whole level such charm and atmosphere. It has a cartoony appeal - it immerses you in the Kung-Fu ethos of the level and makes you want to smile at the same time. The Chinatown setting is so beautifully done too. I just loved those neon signs lighting up the dark and then the story draws you in and you want to defeat the enemies that pop up with their enigmatic smiles and droopy moustaches! On top of all that, the gameplay is great fun – that double jump with the forward roll (sorry, junior school gymnastics terminology coming out there) is just awesome. Kung-Fu moves plus glowing neon signs plus great music = happiness! This level is an absolute joy to play! Journey to an epic Karate adventure where you battle evil Sack-People and kick some butt. This level takes place in a Chinatown setting where you must master the moves of double jumping and basic attack. the atmosphere has a awesome feel to it as you go across Chinatown kicking some butt. MicGorbachev has really done it this time with an awesome level that will make you shout out Bio references all over the place. I would suggest you play this level asap. Cause it's a awesome level.

http://ib.lbp.me/img/bl/fab11bb4a07350df20e5e663f6a4a1112615135c.pngStrang e Hidden Solutions (platformer) (1P)StrawberryHeAtI present you my new plattformer. In this platformer I tried to create an original and mostly funny gameplay for just 1 Player. Try to break the high-score and enjoy it. I hope you like. Its only playable for 1 PLAYER! With more it will automaticly end the game in the beggining. Sorry for using that in it but its really only playable without bugs alone. Special thanks to all my friends for testing. Music by @iChaosclay.

StrawberryheAt has done an amazing thing! He brought a smile to my face. No easy feat I assure you. I jumped into the level dryly thinking, "oh boy, another platformer." I was wrong. It's more than just your ordinary everyday platformer. It's a well planned, well executed, well designed platformer, and it is a load of fun. I really dig the design here, nice clean lines and a nice overall theme. I do have a fondness for the wooden ones. Gameplay wise, it's fantastic. Lots of cool contraptions to convey from one place to another and lots of speedy fun. Excellent work here. Queue it.StrawberryHeAt clearly doesn’t go in much for fancy visuals; his levels have a pared back, clean feel to them and this puts the focus very much on the gameplay. Fortunate then that he has a growing talent for putting together fun and inventive platforming sequences. This level will have you bouncing up and down and shooting in and out of all the layers but it’s not all about speed and last minute reactions. There’s a playful feel to the gameplay as you press buttons and wait to see what hidden doors and paths emerge. Platforms rise up in front of you, bouncepads and contraptions spring into life and your route becomes clear. It’s thoroughly enjoyable, well designed and fun – what more could you ask? StrawberryHeAt is a relatively new creator but he is only getting better with each level and I look forward to seeing where he goes next. Wow what a great level we have here. StrawberryheAt has really shown us what a great creator he is. Great visuals, crisp gameplay. This made it such a great platformer that it is. What I found great about this level is it sucks you in and makes you want to finish this level. I particularly loved the wooden feel that this level had done. the gameplay was fantastic. What are you guys waiting for play this level NOW!

http://ie.lbp.me/img/bl/36ed3f057850eb28b001d268bacca1a095a6f36a.pngHAUS By bonner123bonner123[1P INTENDED!] Just a clean contemporary house with a prototype, state of the art HAUS unit... that may have a few bugs that need to be worked out. Voice acting by SLS10. Black metal is dangerous! | Single player for best experience, yo! Parties with multiple players will experience level link issues. |
You may enter this abode and immediately think, "hmm, very nice 'hangout' level. Very detailed rooms, with cool furniture and deco found throughout." It takes about ten steps into this house to figure out that there is something sinister at work here. It would seem that there is a devious AI (voiced by the incomparable SLS10) in control of this house and it will put you through the paces, taunting your every move, until hopefully, you are victorious. This is a challenging level, full of original and cool obstacles that will burn, electrocute and plasmafy your stuffings. You undoubtedly will die numerous times, but it's well worth the price of admission. Great level. Get to queuing now!Dignity is overrated, right? Well, I certainly hope so, as you may not have much of it left after passing through the tender hands of HAUS, a household management unit for whom Schadenfreude has become a guiding philosophy. You find yourself in a stunning modernist apartment with every detail perfectly realised from wine glasses filled with wine to the art on the walls. This is HAUS’s domain, however. The veneer of slightly batty friendliness with which he greets you soon begins to crack and you realise that he has a not so hidden agenda involving inflicting as much pain and potential death as possible. A series of trials awaits you in this gorgeous setting and you’ll have to fight to survive. The gameplay is ingenious and cleverly designed. The obstacles will test both your skill and your wits…you’ll fall into a few traps before you’re done…but it’s great to have a healthy dose of challenge. And all the time HAUS keeps up a commentary that will have you both laughing and cursing him. So even if you do end up with less dignity than a carpet…or an Austrian mole (or are they the same thing?), this is a level you won’t want to miss. Well well well isn't this a nice hous.... Oh My GAWD. It's gonna kill us. i really enjoyed this level, this levels evil AI wants you dead and it will try any means necessary to do so. The levels atmosphere adds to its feel. This level will add comic relief while you play it so this makes both a challenging and humorous level at the same time. I would suggest you play this level when you have a chance. ALLRIGHT!!!! another Check out my mansion level for me to play, WAIT WHAAATTT!!!! this one has a full fledged home security system that is spot on who it wants in or out of this glorified platforming mansion fully equipped with state of the art hazard systems to test me throughout my friendly adventure, AHHHH!!! Great example of mixing superb platforming into a style of rpg. From traversing the lethal kitchen stove to the depths below of where the security system is most notorious. SLS10 adds a little voice flavoring to thicken the sauce of this ingenious platforming adventuring rpg'ing extravaganza.

A sackperson has been chosen to try out the time machine, but the tasks must first be taken. However, a danger may be lurking at some point in the Lab.
JustinArt kicks off the spotlight with his very first vita level and this one is a treat. With touch based obstacles everywhere you go! As well as I think nearly every gameplay enhancement from, grappling hook, to creatinator and even controlinator. He even chucked in a boss fight for good measure. It is a lot of up fun to play, and is definitely a level that could only be achieved on the vita. This level is strongly worth your play and you will be excited for more levels to come from this series.Justinart takes to creating n the Vita like a duck to water as he makes great use of all the Vita’s unique features in this level. But he also brings with him his trade mark features as an LBP2 creator: great characters, a cracking storyline and an epic boss fight (armed with a balloon I can bring any baddie down, lol)! I only wish I’d remembered that other constant in Justin’s levels: cleverly hidden secrets. If I had, I’d have been spared the mortification of seeing that secrets counter with not a single light glowing on it! Never mind, this has all the makings of a classic series. I look forward to Part 2.

Jaffakree is back again, he is becoming quite the regular to the spotlight, this time with a sequel to his great Druid's tale level. Just like his other levels the visuals are done to perfection. This time Jaffakree was opting for a nature themed level with beautiful vibrant colours. As well as the wonderful visuals the gameplay was a lot of fun as well. With obstacles that make full use of the vita's touch screen without them feeling awkward to use. This level is a must play much like all Jaffakree's other levels.Jaffakree’s levels are just so full of life and heart. The colours sing, the visuals have great verve and the gameplay is a whole heap of fun. I loved the story in this but above all I loved the inventive, playful gameplay. You’re not just tapping the usual blue or green blocks to get them to disappear. No, here you’re tapping sparkling, mystic druid symbols to conjure platforms out of thin air or to set the wind in your sails! You just know this is a level built with love and passion.

Time Warp Chronicles spotlighted? Okay. I wouldn't give it more than a nod, but that's just my opinion.

I'm telling that with respect to other great creators here that made just better levels and deserved their spotlights.

This one just wasn't good enough compared to the other spotlighted levels here.

I'm not actually sure what RPG elements are in my level but hey, I appreciate the sentiment.

Thanks for the spotlight, it's nice to break my LBP2 hiatus with a bang before I (d/r)egenerate back into Esmerelda! levels. There are plenty of fun levels this week, but Fists of Fury is standout in my opinion. Be sure to check that one out!

not rpg in the traditional sense but in the lbp sense if that helps (anything that constitutes exploring apparently is an rpg according to the younger hip crowds )

and yes fists of fury was dyn-o-mite!!!!

This is true, but try to keep in mind that negative or even positive criticism needs more than just a 'no' or a 'yes'.

I mean I could just say 'Your post is not as good as the posts around it' and it doesn't help anybody.

I could say "I felt that your post wasn't 'thank-worthy', not because it was a negative criticism, but because it didn't really have a supporting argument."

You could say that you didn't really like a level as you felt it lacked a certain polish, some of the areas seemed hard to navigate, the was a game breaking logic error... etc

At least you are providing something constructive for a creator to focus on making better like this. Saying 'It's not as good as another level' doesn't really help the creator. By all means, you can compare the level to another one in a similar genre and highlight where any why you like it more, because this helps everyone think deeper about game design'.
