Disney World

Archive: 36 posts

Oh hi, I'm an evil warlord of unspeakable evil, meaning I loves me some Disney.

... What? Who is more evil than Disney? :/

Anyway, I've gone down to Disney for most of my life because my mom is even more in love with it than I am, so I've become a Disney World Encyclopedia. Now, I live about an hour north of there, so I can pretty much just go down for the afternoon. Weird. Anyway, I loves me Disney World, and thought I should open a thread for it.

So, favorite rides/ attraction/ whatever?

Also, I just got some cool news that excites me way more than it should:

http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201306/3524/

Cars Land (meh) and STAR WARS LAND coming to Hollywood Studios . Yes, Star Wars Land, finally!Wonder what they'll add, since they already have Star Tours. Hopefully something cool and not just shops. Though I want them to open the Cantina. That would be awesome

So yes, any other Disney World fanatics? :kz:

you're Alice? :O

But yeah, it's nice just being able to go for the afternoon, instead of having to spend a whole week. Because last time I took a long vacation (5 days), I didn't do anything the fifth day because I already saw everything. So now I can get my fill in smaller bites instead of having to spend an entire week, because honestly, there isn't enough to keep me focused for that long any more.

Haunted Mansion is my favorite, followed by Jungle Cruise. My last trip was in 2009, and we're planning a new eventually, possibly in 2014. I try to go once every 5 years or so, because they're always adding new stuff. (Or taking stuff out.) My roommate went with me last time. She obsessed over Epcot for all the food. Hahaha. Crouching Tiger Hidder Fat*** she is.

I'm not much of a fan of Star Wars OR Cars, so I don't have an opinion on that.

Hm, I don't think Haunted Mansion was revamped in 2009 yet... so it's been updated since you last went. they also updated Test Track and Star Tours since you last were there, in addition to all the stuff at New Fantasyland. Like the Be Our guest resturant. Go there for lunch someday.2013-06-17 20:16:00

Yep that's cool just steal the image I posted on your profile, you lazy :kz:

The only Disney park I've been to is Disneyland Paris but that was well over 10 years ago It was pretty cool though. Yep.

They were in the process of revamping Haunted Mansion when I last went. The endless staircase room was new, but there was no Axe-Killer bride in the attic yet.

My roomie and I want to go back for Test Track alone. It's awesome. We were giddy when we heard it was revamped. I also heard about Fantasyland's update. Do they have the new Snow White ride done yet? Seven Dwarves Mine Train was its name last I saw.

Nah, they're still working on the Mine Train ride. Can see it's construction going on though.

As for Test Track, it's the same ride. same track. So don't get too excited.

Also a Disney fanatic, though living in CA I tend to go to that other theme park, instead of Disney World. Been a long time since i've been though, haven't even seen Cars Land yet! :O2013-06-17 22:07:00

HAHA, Disneyland is where its at. 5 minutes away from disneyland, I've been there 100+ times. IM THE DISNEY ENCYCLOPEDIA. Ive also been to disney world 7 or 8 times, and 2 disney cruises. Dont get started with me on Disney. My dad makes SHIRTS for Disney. But STAR WARS LAND?!!!!!!1! HOLY **** I MUST GO WHY IS THIS NOT ADDED TO DISNEYLAND. I also have yet to see the new Fantasyland in Disney World, it seems pretty neat. I hate how disney world gets all the changes and all we get is some new track for Big Thunder Mountain.2013-06-18 04:31:00

Oh, come on Domination. You have Indiana Jones, that's more than enough for Disneyland.

Seriously. I NEED THAT RIDE!

You dont have that? I thought we never went on it at Disney World because we always went on it at Disneyland. Yea, its a really neat ride, but it gets boring after awhile.

I really love Epcot. In the England part of it I think there are some really good fish and chips. yummm :kz:

There's a Dinosaur ride with the same ride system, and an Indiana Jone stunt show that may be replaced by Star Wars Land, but no Indiana Jones ride. It was the highlight of my sole trip to Disneyland back on my 14th birthday.

And Epcot is cool I guess, but I'm not one for shopping so the World Showcase doesn't intrigue me.

At least Expedition Everest is eons better than the Matterhorn, even if the MAtterhorn gets points for being the first metal rollercoaster ever.

Oh yea Animal Kingdom is really neat. I remember one time I got a cheetah pen there, and it broke. My hopes and dreams were crushed, along with the cheetah.

Excellent... destroying dreams, my favorite...

So a few weeks ago, on Memorial Day, Disney had the Magic Kingdom open 24 hours. My mom and I went there at 10 p.m. and left at 4 a.m.

It was weird

At first I read that as you went to the Animal Kingdom and saw a small wooden enclosure full of Cheetahs, which proceeded to break. THAT was an image

What was wierd about 4 am disney? I love being in the park when its dark, the lighting adds a whole different magic to the world

It was weird going into Disney World at 10 first off. I didn't even know the entry sign lit up at night since I always left at night haha.

And I just don't usually stay up late.

It was also weird starting my day with fireworks. That's usually how you end the day lol.

But yeah, I here got Disney WORLD. Not like your puny Disney LAND. :kz:

All in all they're not too different World has more space to work with however, so they tend to see major additions first. My one trip to world was when the Astro Blasters had just come in. It was a happy day in California when they announced we'd get them too

Well, Disney land is better than the Magic Kingdom, but Disney World is better than Disneyland

Also, that Disney world map is old, Mickey's Toontown Fair is long gone and replaced by a huge addition to Fantasyland

not really an insane fan of Disney world, but Ive been there once, and once to the one in California, the rides are fun, but food and stuff is a bit too expensive, and boy you walk a lot there..., overall its pretty fun anyways, I only missed epcot, got to see most of the rest of the parks, california has the, umm, california adventure park that has that awesome rollercoaster which name I already forgot...2013-06-19 08:38:00

Cool, hopefully they'll be built by the summer of 2014, because next summer I'm going to Disneyworld :3

They won't.

We'd be lucky if they start building by then.

Current estimate is by 2018 we'll get the first wave of Star Wars land. May get Avatarland by 2015 since it was announced earlier.

... What? Making good rides and attractions takes a while :/

You will, however, be able to go on Snow White's Mine Train. Dunno when you last went so I dunno what else is new.

Well I've been to Disney World around 7 times, and every time I've been pretty much everything has been the same. Last time I went MGM Studios had just changed his name, or something. Probably 2009.

But restaurants can be a good thing...

Remember when Ghiradelli Chocolate was added to Disney World in Downtown Disney/California Adventure in Disneyland? THAT was good chocolate.... <3

No I do not remember that. I never go to downtown Disney.

But I agree they can be good, I myself am hoping the Cantina is a restaurant. I just hope they have cool stuff beyond that.

So I'm thinking about doing the Disney College Program, even though I'm less than an hour away from Disney.

Anyone who is currently in College want to join me? We could be RAWK buddies!

Bumpity.

So, if anyone is a college student, I'm thinking of doing the Disney College program starting this May. It'd be awesome if some other peeps from here did it too. We'd do lunch!
