Just had a look at a well received character prediction video from NinBuzz and if the predictions were even half correct I know I'm personally in for one heck of a disappointment. Dominated by obscure anime fighters and cutesy... whatever the other things were, I wanted to see just one worthwhile combatant enter the selection, I know I can't expect Havik from Mortal Kombat or Yoshimitsu from Tekken but no one even stood out to me, I've already forgotten pretty much all of them. But I've no right to rant, I don't even have a Wii U...

Went on the Smash Wiki, and found out some stages. The Wii U and 3DS versions will have different stages, 3DS stages based off of Handheld games, while Wii U stages based off of main console games. Also there will not be any cross platform play but there still would be something that would interact with both versions. I've been hearing lots of people debate over how the new Smash Bros. looks much worse than Brawl. Maybe it's because I barely played brawl, but to be quite honest, I really like some of the new character designs better than Brawl's. Sure, there are more visible details on Brawl's characters, but the gritty, realistic look given to some of them just feels like they would become outdated more quickly and easily, whereas the Wii U version's characters seem to have a heavier focus on primary colors and keeping some things simpler to the character's designs. (which I think will definitely help in the aging process for the game) They also, in my opinion, look a lot better close-up. Seriously, seeing Link/Mario/Kirby try holding the "Tree" pose was hilarious. I'm really befuzzled why a lot of people I know are no longer excited for it. Sure, it might not be as big of a leap from Melee to Brawl, but still. I will admit, even though I don't play much SSB, some of the new characters seem pretty imbalanced. The villager seems overpowered altogether with his abilities to dig holes to trap others in, and catch and throw back pretty much anything thrown or shot at him. Also, the Wii Fit Trainer's final smash looks practically impossible to escape. (unless you're behind her, I suppose.) Still it looks hella fun, and I'm hoping for Ridley & King K. Rool to join the party. I'm also curious as to what pokemon they'll throw in, assuming they replace Lucario with someone more relevant. (I know a lot of people assumed Zoroark would be playable, but since SSB:B came out around Gen IV, I assume we'll get someone from X/Y instead.)

Been awhile since anyone posted here. So today I'll start off with a couple things. First thing first. RELEASE DATES! Now what I've been reading for awhile is that people would be saying that the 3DS version would be the version to come out last if they were not going to be released at the same time. Well...Funny thing is that the 3DS version will come out sometime in the summer and the Wii U version will come out in winter. 2nd, the characters. What we heard right now is that they announced 5 more characters. Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, Yoshi and Pokemon's Charizard and Greninja will be in the game! 3rd thing, the multiplayer modes. There will be a mode for fun and for glory. For fun mode will be randomized items and stages. For glory is usually going to be a flat stage with no items. For fun victories will only be counted to players records while for glory will count wins and losses. Finally, Smash Bros 3DS will come with an exclusive battle game called Smash Run! Where up to four players navigate a timed obstacle course to collect power ups and fight enemies before ultimately facing each other in a final battle. All sounds good for people with a 3DS while Wii U owners will sadly wait...Hopefully Wii U will come out with their own exclusive games. Maybe the fact that Sakurai decided to give a character slot to Zero Suit Samus whereas we could've gotten someone entirely new like Sylux for example (and probably won't now because people don't see the Metroid series getting many character slots as it hasn't in the past).

I don't think many people really talk about Sylux, but many people want Ridley (Even though I absolutely don't want him as a playable character and people who wants him as a character makes me don't want him even more). I am not into the Metroid franchise, but I think people are so focused about Ridley that they forget about other characters who would fit better into the franchise or don't think they are interesting as Ridley. However, I do not think the fans decide the characters no matter how popular it gets. I can't really explain how Nintendo decides their characters because it is unpredictable on what they would do next.

I was just using Sylux as an example because it feels like Ridley is all but confirmed to not be a fighter, as Sakurai has already commented on him being difficult to implement and the fact that we saw his shadow flying by riiight as bosses and assists were being mentioned.

If I want to play as Samus, I'll play as Samus (and other fighters like Kirby and Greninja of course. <3). On the bright side, Dark Samus was confirmed as an assist in the big Super Smash Bros. direct. It definitely seems like Sakurai's been working to make sure the latest Smash Bros. has less of a clone problem this time around.
