Lost Paradise by Kato Regama Level Link: http://lbp.me/v/kmbsbx Previous Level: DEEP OCEAN (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=79625-Deep-Ocean) Level Hub: http://lbp.me/v/k7f-4x This is the final level for Crystal Crisis 2. Barring one small feature you guys won't even get to test right away, it's all wrapped up here. An easy-breezy level with an epic 3 phase boss fight which I've done my best to make Ace-Able. I haven't been able to ace it yet, but that's due to my own carelessness and not difficulty. The battles are actually so easy, that I would forget to dodge projectiles, and just stand there. Scratch that. I aced it last night start to finish. Yeti Cannon is functional and live. This also includes the epilogue cutscene, and I HAVE A REQUEST FOR THAT. I just want anybody at all to play with 2-4 people and tell me if your friends appear/survive the cutscene. I wasn't able to wrangle other players together to test, so let me know! http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/b516327446e3327d04272aff9478f4a46449cc20.jpg Starting from the boss of the last level, Deep Ocean, you explore the crash site of the Black Star to find Praxion and Hermia. http://i4.lbp.me/img/ft/6d4968fc1afb72734c1e7502c3646ad2e2a11b17.jpg The bulk of the level takes place in Praxion's eerie limbo between Katopia and the Dark Matter world. http://i2.lbp.me/img/ft/b827f889c1fe98905279e8e75f3af2e43bad42f8.jpg If you're a dilligent collector, you get one secret switch sticker from every level of CC2. Get all of them to get the ULTIMATE WEAPON and a MUCH EASIER final boss. http://i6.lbp.me/img/ft/d9696bd243ccd5924f7a6ed05b76be39b3e964c4.jpg The Praxion fight is some of my best boss work. I've done my best to make it more fair, and less luck oriented. (Unlike Croaloa...) http://i3.lbp.me/img/ft/873e3508fdaf72c7674ded0f6ec13e8348045b7d.jpg Yep. You guys have fun with that. Author's Notes: Thank you everyone for your encouragement and feedback on CC2. After the first 4 levels, Hero Academy, VR Virus, Miserable Mire and Scorpion Valley was when I joined the boards. Then I went back and over-hauled bits of VR Virus and Scorpion Valley, and made Deep Ocean and Lost Paradise following. Your support has been legendary, and has REALLY improved my skill and quality with levels. I intend to remake Hero Academy, VR Virus, and Miserable Mire from scratch soon using what I know, so you can see how much you guys have improved me. XD Thanks! Pros: Reasonable length level with better platforming than my others. Epic boss fight of the ages. (That I'VE made I mean. XD) And some hilarious cutscene work. A HUGE improvement since I started. Cons: Some of the brightness can get you a bit lost. The level is so bizarre it may be confusing to players. Boss patterns may take a few tries to understand, but there's only three attacks in the first two. http://lbp.me/v/kmbsbx | 2013-06-03 14:07:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |

Let me know if you guys find any of the bosses too hard. They SHOULDN'T be since you have a tremendous amount of time to dodge, but first run you may not be expecting some attacks. This is particularly evident in phase 3 where the ground plasmafies when he hits it. Once you know that's what's going to happen, dodging is super easy since you have 4-6 seconds to get to safety on a small battlefield. | 2013-06-05 13:38:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
First I have to say the visuals are very vibrant and eye popping. Really great job. It was a little hard to see my character at times, but then I got the brilliant idea to dress my sackboy in flashy lights lol. That solved that issue instantly. The platforming is excellent. Jumping from portal to portal is always fun with sometimes challenging grappling areas to pass. The cinematics and boss fights are truly epic like you said. Phase 1 and phase 2 are fairly straightforward, but I had a bit of trouble with phase 3. The problem was I played late at night and by the time I got to phase 3 I was very tired. It is very likely if I play it again (which I will) awake, it will be easier. I'll try to play with another player next time. Great level | 2013-06-05 19:44:00 Author: Greensmurfy Posts: 300 |
Cool! It's great to hear feedback. Let me know if you have better luck if you try again. It's quite a long level I admit. XD So much that the final boss only takes 6 hits. You can always skip straight to the Praxion fight or the Epilogue by way of the hub if you don't feel like replaying anything. | 2013-06-05 20:14:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
Very enyoable level with interesting visuals. Playing this level was a nice experience. You levels have an own style, which is great. I really like how much passion you have for the bosses you create. To be honest! I have really no idea what's to do to beat the final boss Where do I have to throw those "crystals of hope"? However: it's a great level | 2013-06-06 22:47:00 Author: avundcv Posts: 2526 |
I had a feeling this is the case. XD You, Shropshirelass and Greensmurfy seem to have encountered the same problem, which is no good on my part since the ending is really worth it! If you could please wait an hour and try again, I would appreciate it. I will update the fight to explain better immediately! You can skip the level to the fight straight from the hub, or skip to the epilogue from there too. The epilogue is part of the level. | 2013-06-06 22:54:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
Just played it I really liked the visual style and I also enjoyed the use of space. Going through the portals and ending up on the other side of where you just were was really fun. I also loved the bouncy projectiles I will have to make something like that for a future level of mine. Great work! | 2013-06-07 09:20:00 Author: TheClassiestHobo Posts: 51 |
Thanks for the comments. If you weren't able to beat the boss, at least drop by the hub, teleport to Lost Paradise, and watch the epilogue. It's surely worth your time. Though speaking of... Got a lil' behind the scenes. http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/7b02bbc2010e2618c4906aab4f4be8354b9af09d.jpg That was the original final boss before I regrettably noticed he was about 500 feet tall and had no way of reaching the player for smashings without being mostly off screen the whole time. XD Due to some intricate/small shapes, that's as little as he could get! I think I went with the better option, but I'm still disappointed all this work was a waste. | 2013-06-07 19:18:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
Ugh I hate when that happens. Some versions of my dragon had that problem, it's the worst. I will definitely go watch the epilogue. | 2013-06-07 19:40:00 Author: TheClassiestHobo Posts: 51 |
Great finish to one of the best series...es I've ever played on LBP. I loved how even in the most powerful scenes, you never stopped making fun of yourself. That Mm pick line came so out of the blue I couldn't stop giggling throughout the rest of the fight. The ending cutscene was just pure awesome as well. | 2013-06-08 01:53:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |
Thanks. XD I don't actually believe the level is good enough for an Mm Pick myself, but I HAD to take the jab since it's what a LOT of people hope for. XD | 2013-06-08 02:43:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
Hi, Kato. I have your level queued and Listed. I plan to give it some quality time tomorrow. I loves Boss's. | 2013-06-08 05:58:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
I went through your hub and replayed the boss and watched the epilogue. Didn't have any problems. Glad you put in the target words so I knew what to hit. Really excellent job along with the epilogue. Also the floor turning orange was helpful. Don't remember that the first time I played. | 2013-06-08 22:55:00 Author: Greensmurfy Posts: 300 |
Yeah, that's new. The original indication was that you could see the plasmafication in the foreground on the dark stuff when it happens, but it was too subtle I thought. Of course this reveals that the dead center of the battlefield in a safe zone by it not color changing, but ah well. What? I don't want to make the final boss TOO easy now. Hi, Kato. This was truly an Epic level. Although a bit too harsh on the eyes at times, it was worth it. I really enjoyed the Final Boss, especially the way the giant mouths looked. It was just challenging enough, that I never became frustrated. And the movie at the end was classic...I loved the humor and banter, and the credits section was genius. All in all, you get a Bravo from me for your attention to detail, obvious passion and patience to make something of this magnitude, and achieving a result that will be memorable. | 2013-06-09 22:14:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree, it's a bit Overly-Ultraviolet sometimes. XD | 2013-06-10 16:34:00 Author: Kato Posts: 732 |
