I got a new ps3 and did a data transfer and went to play LBP2 and the data was in my save files, but it started a new game and i lost everything, Levels, Moons, costumes, story progress, and my pod customization's. please someone help me.

Well, if you had just done a data transfer, then you can simply reload it to the console via your PS3/PSV (I'm not too sure which direction this is in). If you didn't have a backup, then I am afraid I can't do anything about it.

I didn't have a back up, and i wiped the old ps3.

Hey you're not alone it happened to me too, got a new Ps3 and did a data transfer and it happened. I too lost everything (LBP2 and LBP1) but I think the data's still there (look in Game Data Utility) except we can't access it for some reason. Found my old LBP2 and LBP1 data in there. What I suggest you is either contact sony like qwerty said above OR download a save file from the Internet and import it onto you're Ps3. (Which is what I did... with an 100% save...) Good luck.
