What are your LBP1 Classics?

Archive: 23 posts

LittleBigPlanet has come a long way since its humble beginnings. LBP.me is absolutely filled with hours and hours of amazing levels to play. Although there are many great levels out today, what would you consider an LBP classic? LittleBigPlanet 1 had some of the most creative and inventive levels of all time. Which LBP1 level do you consider a classic and why? (Can be a level from story mode or from the community)2013-06-02 15:01:00

I liked the Subway, maybe because I like more realistic levels, it was like they took the hazards of everyday life (riding atop a moving train) and made it into a level.2013-06-02 17:33:00

From story mode, probably The Bunker. That wheel portion was possibly the hardest part of the game if you wanted to ace.2013-06-02 18:25:00

This is one of the first levels I ever played in LBP. This level was so atmospheric! Little Dead Space.

Looking back, a lot of things could have been better. (Like the platypus monsters.) But I consider this a classic. Many people re-made this level later on, but this will remain as one of the coolest levels to hit the cool pages.

Summer,Sea and Hawaii!! 夏だ!海だ!ハワイだ! ☆REAL WATER☆ http://lbp.me/v/pxge8t

I think this level was one of the most memorable LBP1 levels I have played.

Too many to count! You should queue these levels, also, I recommend playing them in the original LBP1, sometimes things like lighting messes up, and sometimes the level even breaks.

The Movies! (http://lbp.me/v/gmgj0) (With actual animated movies, very magical)

City on the Sea [from WATER BETA] (http://lbp.me/v/qw75x1)

technicolour5 (http://lbp.me/v/p897n8) (Or any technicolour level)

Yggdrasil (http://lbp.me/v/pdy8xb) (Those lights hooked up to the sensor with the speed sensor were amazing at the time!)

illumina garden 3 (http://lbp.me/v/qwc8xe)

Malugara Temple[?] (Long-since locked, but a really nice level. I believe the creator said it was their first level, and the level was extremely good!)

Emergency Protocol (http://lbp.me/v/r6rncx) (It may not have the smoothest gameplay, but the visuals of this level are quite neat!)

Pitfall! (http://lbp.me/v/sjn-j2) (One of the first levels to have accurate pixel art aesthetics.)

Tomb of Light (http://lbp.me/v/dh6e9) (A classic, atmospheric level with a very suspenseful ending.)

Fly me to the moon... (http://lbp.me/v/0rkb) (A classic by non other than James Spafford; I really like the look of the level, everything about it seems beautiful, despite its lack of all those fancy creator tricks.)

Security Breach (http://lbp.me/v/r6epmq) (Awesome action!)

The Bunker (http://lbp.me/v/pf0mtr)

The Lighthouse (http://lbp.me/v/pywysb) (Atmospheric with an interesting story!)

superSACK Market (http://lbp.me/v/pq9hgw) (A cheerful and charming level!)

(Real City 3D) (http://lbp.me/v/qfxkqj) (One of the best applications of the 3D layer glitch, still is!)

Attack of the flying donkeys! - Old Version (http://lbp.me/v/qfp2dh) (A very humorous level.)

GUN&RUN (ver4.2) (http://lbp.me/v/p7mb35) (Action-packed classic.)

Whichever Way The Wind Blows- Blue (http://lbp.me/v/pzw6-7) (Part of an awesome series.)

Post-apocalyptic (http://lbp.me/v/pz6q5w) (This level really focuses on explosive effects!)

METAL CITY (http://lbp.me/v/pqe7sw) (A level with an awesome rusty city aesthetic. May break in LBP2!)

Up & Away In Sky Town (http://lbp.me/v/ptrqpt) (The balloon mechanic was always fun.)

Media Molecules Next Level Pack (http://lbp.me/v/pmthxq) (A hilarious movie level.)

StarCruiser (http://lbp.me/v/pf1pgh) (This is one of the first levels to redefine LBP level aesthetics.)

LIBI FORCE (http://lbp.me/v/pd-00m) (One of the first levels I ran into where you can play as a spaceship, really revolutionary in a time of no controllinators and such.)

Future warzone 2 teaser trailer (http://lbp.me/v/pfzbg5) (Awesome movie level, sadly the final level never came out.)

TeddyCrag (http://lbp.me/v/5-dmb) (A strange, fun, and difficult level.)

Retro Man survival challenge. MmSC (http://lbp.me/v/03jq6) (Neat to play as a different character than Sackboy.)

The Showdown (http://lbp.me/v/0mq27) (Awesome reflex level for 2 players.)

Tale of the Magnificent Ruby (http://lbp.me/v/vr2es) (Cool story, great aesthetics, and awesome gameplay with a boss fight!)

The Scary Factory Overlooking the Small Village (http://lbp.me/v/mczwp) (A classic, be careful though, this level breaks for some in LBP2.)

Distress in Ocean (http://lbp.me/v/cz1-j) (A classic, fun, and suspenseful level. And who can forget that awesome cannon near the end?)

I love LittleBigDeadSpace! That was one of the first levels that blew my mind. If I reccall Darkness Bear hasn't made any LBP2 levels has he?

Others that I am remembering right now are Distress in Ocean, the Calculator level, Maxed Out, and that God of War level by Geosautus that was taken down a long time ago. I may remeber some more later.

Wow, some of these I don't even remember as LBP1 levels. They were so great that when I look back on them I can't imagine how they were made!
What's an LBP1 classic list without POMS?
Spice & CO (http://lbp.me/v/rf1x4d)
The Miracle of Life (http://lbp.me/v/sh8j-m) - I believe this was moderated at one point. Scandal of the day
The Bunker (http://lbp.me/v/pf0mtr) - I'm sure you all played this one since it was one of the most copied levels back when that was an issue.

There are so many more "classic" levels from LBP1 than there ever have been in LBP2, in my opinion. I can't think of any LBP2 levels that I've particularly enjoyed that much, or any that I could be bothered to play again. Off the top of my head, these are the 3 most memorable classics that kind of define LBP for me:

World of Color
Azure Palace
ramp

ramp (or Ramp as it was later known) always got a lot of hate, but I liked it. It was fun. I also loved all the bomb and shark survivals that turned up later on. Anyone who disliked ramp or those crazy survival levels is an idiot who doesn't know how to have fun or enjoy the game. World of Color and Azure Palace were just the first levels I remember playing almost 5 years ago now and they're still better than pretty much anything I've seen in LBP2.

I developed an appreciation for a good level pretty late into the game, but I'd say those sackzilla levels by fireshire. Just because I had so much fun playing them with people.2013-08-21 02:03:00

In lbp1 the most classics I'd say are little dead space, the bunker, and distress in ocean. the best levels though were Steve big guns' sky factory and something beneath. And LBP 2 I'd cite super lbp turbo fighter and corridors of madness. But the overall best level ever made is felkroths sealed fate.2013-08-23 20:52:00

Darknessbear did Little dead space 1 on LBP1 and Little dead space 2 on LBP2

There are so many LBP1 classics to choose from, but here are some of the community creations that I find to be the most memorable:

LittleBIG Ninja Warrior - https://lbp.me/v/x7pv
Little Big Calculator - https://lbp.me/v/eem9
The Bunker - https://lbp.me/v/rtczec
LEGO World - https://lbp.me/v/qq33d7

...aaaand the first community level I ever played, which was Super Mario PS3! - https://lbp.me/v/rsgj6y

I could list MANY more memorable classics, but the list would just go on forever.

Distress in the ocean (https://lbp.me/v/cz1-j)
Don't wreck daddy's new Car (http://lbp2.me/v/27qwe-)

I miss LBP1; where Roller Coasters, Bomb Survivals, Train Survivals, Shark Survivals, "Kill your best friend", Arena Levels, Total Wipeout, Ninja Warrior and ramp levels were in... No-one plays them anymore which is a shame. They hold a special place in my heart despite how bad they might be by LBP2 standards. I also miss being able to dive in and play an actual level with new people which doesn't happen anymore.

Kevio's "The Great Race". Hands down my favorite - I can't explain why. I guess because it's challenging, yet it's simple, it has the LBP1 charm that I love.2014-08-25 00:17:00

This is probably a difficult question, but does anybody remember the name of a level which started with your sackperson on some sort of aeroplane on another planet - some kind of tour, if I remember correctly - which then crashed? You then went to a sort of alien temple, all purple-lit and stuff. I don't remember the ending, so I'm hoping some kind fellow out there can direct me to the proper one.2014-08-31 19:13:00
