Hidden Cave (first level)

Finally, after a few day's work, I've finished my first level, called Hidden Cave. It's basically a dark obstacle course.

What do you mean by that? Just search for "hidden cave" and it should be there.

I would definately change the title of the level, if I were you. I dunno, maybe the funky fissure, or the Undiscovered Crevasse. Hidden Cave sounds too cliche.

Eh, "funky fissure" and "undiscovered crevice" both sound strange to me. I just can't think of a good name. And sure, I'll play your level, I'd just like some comments on my level, not the name, first.

A tip for people when searching for levels: put an @ symbol in front of the person's PSN name and they will come up already selected. In this case, type @pixelparagon in text search and bam, there it is. Works perfectly every time as long as you spell their PSN name right.

I played the level but didn't complete it. Maybe I was having an off day, but I stopped playing after 4 restarts barely got me past the third obstacle, and it seems that most people stop after the first restart. It was unnecessarily difficult in all places and you often didn't know what to do next after you grabbed a sponge or hit a button.

First obstacle. You have to perfectly time constant jumps while also using the paintinator (at the end of it) with only a 3 life checkpoint. The hazards are moving too fast. My first and second restarts were here.

Second obstacle. Not too hard to pass if you just barrel through and don't worry about dying, which you will do, because the falling objects are too fast and don't have much pattern too them that allows you to avoid them with the slow moving trolley thing you're on.

Third obstacle. I see what you were trying to do, but again it's too fast and too difficult. Pure dumb luck got me past this part. Third and fourth restarts were here.

Fourth obstacle. The camera angle turns and this time the hazards come at you from behind, so that you can't see them until it's too late to jump them. After getting all my lives used up on this part, I didn't feel like trying to do it all again.

Sorry if I sound harsh, that's not my intention. It needs to be worked on in my opinion. Basically, start by toning the difficulty way down because I don't think many people would have enough patience to deal with this level unless they're really stubborn and into that sort of thing. After that, well I would have to play it again after that and see what the level is like since I didn't get very far. I wish you good luck with it though.

Well, I guess I will slow them down, but I'm able to get past it without dying easily. I would have added a double-life checkpoint, but you can't make one that you start out with.

That is one of the things that I will vastly improve on in my next update.

You're talking about the part with the bars that drop in each layer, right? All you have to do is figure out the pattern and rhythm, and you'll breeze past it.

After getting all my lives used up on this part, I didn't feel like trying to do it all again. Yeah, that was actually the hardest part in the level. However, when you make them go slower, it's much harder to jump them. Hard to believe, but it's true.
