Does anyone have any tips for setting the weapon ratios? I'm not sure where to start. I have a few custom weapons, but they're really just cosmetic differences compared to the normal ones.

As in the rate of which you get certain weapons? For places 1, 2, and 3, i usually do about 50% on all green weapons, 20% on boosts, and like 10% on seeker rockets for third place. Afterward, I go up about 10% for each place for the seekers and down 10% on the green weapons. Positions 5 to 8 is when I put in the boxing glove and put that up by about 5% each position. Positions 7 and 8 are the only ones in which I put the leader seeker, at about 10% to 25%. The only green weapons they can get are triple bombs. Basically, first few positions get crap items, mid positions get alright items with occasional good ones, and last few get good stuff commonly. You don't want to set the last-good items too high or else it will be preeeeeetty hard to win (if you aren't going for that, anyway). Sorry if this isn't exactly what you're looking for!

What Plokster says. Often a good level balances weapons against the skilled (almost always in first) and unskilled (dead last) players, making sure that the good players have a harder time dominating the match with less "auto-kill" weapons once they reach the first couple of places in a race or battle.
