Converting Lbp2 Project to Lbp3

Archive: 10 posts

Been thinking its getting too old for me to create stuff for Lbp2. Then had an idea. What if I work on a LBP3 game but I work on Logic,Music and much of other stuff. When PS4/LBP3 comes out I will be able to convert alot of what I had on LBP2 to the new game and create it in more a 3D landscape. Theres Lbp2 project I been working on in the past for very longtime.

My link (http://www.littlebigplanetarium.com/topic/1510-final-fantasy-xi-online-huge-world/)

Things I can convert over...
(Few of these may need adjustments to new Logic in LBP3)

Hate Enmity System (Logic)
Leveling System (Logic)
Attack Animations
Combat Animations for Weapon movements (Logic)
Crafting System (Logic)
Menu System UI (Logic)
Enemy Models
Mission Selection
Dungeons
Boss Battles
Battle System (Need adjustments into 3D setting)
Equipment System (Equip Armor Logic)
Equipment Models
Job System
Music
Other Battle Content

These are all very complex logic and will be super easy to convert over. Adjustments to 3D area will take sometime but core logic is there. Game was never launched on lbp2 mainly because lack of views and time it took to develop. Still quite a bit of logic that needs to be done.

To work on in Lbp2 towards Lbp3.

Finishing Job Logic.
Adding more Music.
Adding more designs.

Things I will probably need to do.

Adjustments to movement system for 3D
Adjustments to melee attack animations to 3D
Recreate Battle Animations for 3D using the 2D designs in LBP2.
Converting Equip images over from LBP2 and creating 3D models of them in LBP3 for equipment displaying on Character.
Coverting LBP2 Music sheets over to LBP3. (Very Easy)
Redegining new UI logic for LBP3 but using LBP2 Logic for UI.
Creating 3D Areas outta 2D ones.
Creating 3D versions of enemies.
Using HD images instead of ones from LBP2.

EDIT:

Will need help with music mainly in lbp2. Will need about 40-50 music tracks.

Once lbp3 out will be doing a copy process of the music notes from lbp2 to lbp3.
Once done will be doing adjustments to the music notes/better sounds in lbp3.

Core logic will be completed for the game and will need to adjust it to better logic options in lbp3 and adjustments to 3D.
Will need to do 3D model creating in LBP3 but will be easy its done. Game will be a hit and have many replays to do other content in the game and having players contune to grow there character.

Hmm... I'm not quite sure about LBP3 yet. I'm mean i'm totally looking forward to it, but you should'nt really jump the gun till they announce it. Plus theres still ALOT to learn how to do in LBP2, i'm sure even the pro creators are still learning new things. I am too. Though i wouldn't say i'm a pro because i'm not, i wish i was. And besides when they announce LBP3 the things you listed here on this thread may or may not be in LBP3. Besides in LBP2 you can already build animations, i've seen levels with that. It take awhite but it can be done, even the Menu System can be done in LBP2 i have one in my upcoming retro looking space shooter survival game Lv called Neo 17. And besides what ever MMR decides to put in LBP3 will be epic any. LBP2 was awesome and it still is. even LBP1 still practically blows mind even now. I'm not trying to put you down or anger you, i'm nearly just saying be patient till they announce it. Keep playing LBP2 and discover new joys and things. Play with others. ^_^2013-05-19 09:35:00

Wow dude, love your enthusiasm but I can't help but feel you're straying a bit off topic here.

LBP isn't supposed to be about fighting enemies, levelling up (seriously?), and going into dungeons. The point of LBP is to use the tools that are given to you to create levels with those kind of mechanics in them by yourself. I think it would ruin the game if there were levels, set enemies, dungeons and bosses, because the beauty of the game comes from making your own or playing other people's levels where they have done that.

It sounds to me that you're trying to turn it into minecraft (crafting, really?) or at least have got an influence from minecraft.
Still I think at this early in the development stage of LBP3, where ideas and new mechanics are more important, since the game hasn't even been announced, are really important so keep thinking of ideas!

Nah not hard. just take 2-3 months to convert everything over.

Can already try an old version of my game on lbp2. thorugh its missing alot of option and tweeks.

illness system,attacks,weapon display logic,better menu system,phy attack,magic atk,phy def,magical def stats.

Was already in he middle of publishing my first field level to exp in. Had enemy spawn system down. THink I had to limit how many players could play also down to 2-3 I think for field level but boss level works with 4.

Made it where player would move away from a enemy for decent period of time the enemy would despawn and enemies not too far from the player would spawn up. Also had problems where enemies would overlap on each other and player be attacking same target. Now enemies suround the player and stand next to enemy in battle.

I have bought LBP racing and logic isnt that far off from LBP3 for 3D set up. I also have Lbp vita and they have some new logic in that where I can learn for lbp3. I already know I will need to change few things which are largely set up in lbp2 such as leveling system. (Memorizer)
If there is a memorizer it will make playing this kinda game very easy for players to jump back into without worrying about progress saving and loading character stats everytime they load into a new level with there characters stats saved on there PSN user.
Theres few things I dont need to change like Enmity System,Menu System layout. Depends might make some improvements on the menu display.

Well dont discredit him for making a true RPG. I am in the same boat, and I think these are wonderful ideas. However, these can already be done in LBP as another guy mentioned and you sort of hinted at. The only thing LBP3 really needs to implement would be a saving system to benefit RPGs( the Text tool from Vita would be good too.)

However, without an official announcement of LBP3, its not a good idea to wait for it. I am trying to push my first chapter this summer, and if LBP3 comes out, you can always just continue the game on that and make upgrades.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/little-big-planet-3-on-the-way-6403577 Yep. That's where LBP3 is supposed to be made. But, if anyone even pays attention to MM, you'd see they're focusing on something new, and much more powerful than Little Big Planet and the likes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=whc7kAi5QgU . I figure that it's important that you stay informed about the studio that you like. But odds are, they won't make LBP3.2013-05-29 05:56:00

Yeah, they have memorize in lbp2 these days, and the label system on em allows you to transfer your data from one level across any with the same memorizer.2014-06-12 16:29:00
