Level Four of Crystal Crisis 2 takes you to the desert in pursuit of the outlandish witch doctor; Baron Boots. Living up to its promise, Scorpion Valley has you up against explosive minecarts, flammable scorpions, and other pitfalls as you make your way across the mesa.

Mine carts are combustible, so don't get too close!

You may need some mighty big boots to stomp THESE monsters.

Dynamite will help you clear a path.

The biggest and best boss of the series so far.

Author's Notes: This is version 1, with an entire linked level missing from the middle. A lot of the comments for Hero Academy were that it's too long. The level's mid-section has been removed for pacing issues, but if it's too short now, it can be replaced.

Pros: Some of my best Boss Battle work, and some good gadgets to make direction-changing minecarts. Enemies are more detailed structurally, and there's a more complicated 2-player prize section. Some decent humor, and nostalgic references, and better cutscenes than normal.
Cons: Level length is questionable short, and there's not a whole lot of fun platforming sections like in Hero Academy or VR Virus. Some cameras are a bit unusual, and the enemies can be difficult to evade. Mini-Boss can only be fought in the front layer, but the ease of the battle makes this forgivable. Mid-Level Section is very long on its own, and so was removed.

wow, this looks great! definitely queued. One little pet peeve of mine right off the bat though, is those bounce pads. I love bounce pads, but can't stand when they are just sitting on top of the ground like that. The just look so out of place like that. Either use the merge glitch and sink them into the floor or build a little box around them. Just a little quirk of mine. Still can't wait to play it.2013-05-13 17:14:00

@Bio - I've gone through and tidied up what bounce pads I could. hopefully it won't ruffle your feathers TOO much. XD

@Everyone Else - I've you've played Scorpion Valley prior to reading this post, I strongly urge you to play again. I've just made some sizable edits to the level. (That said, only 9 people have played it since its original publish date, and I don't think anyone's done so in the past few hours. XD )

Yay! You created another very enjoying level.
I like the environment and the gameplay. And I really like the humour you put in your levels

The first boss fight was very good.
The second boss fight was horrible for me (I am a old man with slow reflexes ), but I actually killed this nasty beast :hero:

Very good job

I saw you took some photos for it, AVundCV. They're actually quite funny. The first one looks very pleasant, and the second one he's shooting his FWOOSH lasers at you. XD

Well, the designe looks amazing, to the background, with a high detailed awesome scorpion boss. I love lvls like this. I only wouldnt place the bounce pads sitting on top of the ground. Change only that and the lvl would look great! Cant wait to play it 2013-05-15 12:27:00

As I mentioned in a previous post, I've already done what I can where I can to tidy up the bounce pads.

Glad you all like. Thanks for the plays.

Hey, does anyone else have trouble with the little swinging balls near the end of the 1st part?

It's the very first time you use dynamite. You blow up rocks, bounce-pad over a danger pit, then bounce up to a scaffold. To the left are three swinging balls, and for the life of me I cannot grab them! Is anyone else having this issue? Is it a camera thing? Or should I make the grab things across 2 layers?

Thank you. Saw it when I played it today. Really great new gameplay ideas. The Special effects to the boss and the crocodile are amazing.
