Yeap , thats a good question .
I have the same problem . Like many others people trying showing their levels.

I'll tell you what in my opinion is best for more plays :
1. Post Your level in " Level Showcase " thread on this Forum.
2. Ask people about Review in another thread in this Forum (It is better if the level recommended someone more objective than you yourself).
3. Test Levels of other little-known creators and ask if they would like to try your to.( I'm already add You to queue )
4. Make video of your level on YouTube or ask someone who can do this . ( I'm never try this yet , but i'm think it's the best way to get noticed )
and, don't think about copied levels , mortal kombat level is so funny and i'm congratulate creator who made this level , not someone who just copied this and republish .
I'm from Poland and my English is not so good to , but i'm think here on this Forum are only cool people that understand Us and forgive some mistakes

It's quite simple actually, you need to impress your public with new/creative stuff or entertain your public(works really well with multipayer levels and survivals), which somehow mortal kombat levels achieve within it's simplicity...The vast majority of players are under 13 years old (Easily impressed for the most part). When you publish a level, the moment hype start building up on it with hearts from other famous creators or regular people who like playing online you are on the spotlight, not necessarily cool pages, but trending levels and such. There are also MM pick feature list and community spotlights from various websites including this one:Note that these options require you being noticed.2013-05-11 01:34:00

I'm not bothering to read this thread too closely because it's really straight-forward. In absolutely any area of life if you want your art to be popular, you make high-quality art. Advertising your level can be very important too but at the end of the day all that matters is that it's good. How do you get good? Practice, always strive for creativity and innovation, and be brutally honest with yourself about how good or bad your work is. Worry about making a level that YOU like before you worry about impressing everyone else.2013-05-11 16:06:00

Do you want to be popular or really good at creating?

Popularity is a fleeting thing. Heck.. used to be creating levels with bombs, toilets or nasty things to do to pop stars were popular. Were they good? No... not really. Though some of the bomb levels were kinda fun in certain groups. lol

If you want to be really good as others have said, post your levels in the level showcase. Use F4F (feedback for feedback) and use it proactively. By that I mean go play a ton of other F4F levels in the showcase leaving them very detailed and constructive feedback. Not.. "Wow.. really cool level" List what you like as well as what you found confusing or possibly in need of improvement. Then and ONLY then.. mention which of your level threads to visit to honor their F4F commitment. ...and I repeat do that a bunch of times, not 4 - 5 times. Do it 20 or more times until your fingers fall off. lol ..and I suggest trying to find other creators doing F4F that seem more serious about their creations. Not the level threads that simply say "Play my level.. I worked hard on it". You want feedback!! ..and feedback from those good at what they are doing!!

What this does it not only getting you a high degree of visibility to others, but gets you a ton of feedback in helping you improve as a creator. It also helps you build a network of friends.. and if you are really serious about your creating, then by all means getting to know other serious and great creators here on LBP is quite a wonderful thing. They already have a trained and critical eye and that is what you need to learn.

Another thing is start looking at all the wonderful tutorials we have here on LBPC. ..and if you ever have any need for help that you cannot already find listed in the help forum, make a post in the help forum and ask a question! There are many here that love helping creators find answers to challenging things.

One more really helpful thing is to create a thread in the Ideas and Projects forum on a work in progress. There you can get ideas, help and advice well before you ever publish the level live. What I have done many times here is make a locked level and hand out keys or better yet with the level linking, make a lock box level and give out the combo to those willing to help test and look over your WIP. You can iron out a ton of issues and really make the level so much better with so much wonderful insight!

Another good way is to do weird, unique things with your levels. Like my new one coming out...

And build hype for them, like that. I'm not super popular, but I'm not super active either. Just keep creating good, unique levels and one will be your winner.

The best way to become a good creator is by posting your levels in the level showcase.

And advertise your levels with a signature.http://littlesigplanet.com/

A great writer wrote one day:
"To be successful, you need 3 things: skills, work and luck. But 2 is enough. Skills + work, you do not need luck. Skills + luck, you do not need work. Work + luck, you do not need skills. Since we can not rely only on luck, so it's worth the skills and hard work."

In English:

I would post in the level showcase portion of this site and on anything that could earn even 1 play. Also, gather some other creators (especially on this site) that can help you make it as good as it can. Hope this helps!

My biggest tip of advice, is that if you want your levels to get played, at the very start of it all, you must make good creations that will interest people, yes. But, what does help, is becoming a very sociable online person. Meet lots of friends, talk to lots of people. Be friendly, nice. Make buddies with friends who care about what you build, who will want to see your completed work. But it is not a one way train, you must as well help your friends when they need it. Truly care about what they do and say. Be excited when they publish a new level, because you are just genuinely happy to see new creations come into play. Just be all around enjoyable to be around! Because when you first publish a level, your friends will be the ones who play it right away. And if they enjoy it, they will tell there friends about it, and there friends might tell there friends, and so on and so forth! So, what I am getting at here, is that having good friends who care about you truly does matter when you turn your dreams, into a reality, a virtual reality 2013-06-16 22:11:00
