Some kind of "ingame resources", anybody?

Hey guys, hey gurls

For my current project i absolutely need a kind of resource that you can earn and accumulate, but also spend different amounts of this resource. Most of the levels i know owning this kind of money or other resources use the scores for this. But in my case i need different accounts for every single player. So my question; Is there any known way for resource-management? Hoping for help

You need a counter system You have 3 options:

-Counter - which is simple but not very efficant with big numbers as you can move only +/- 1 and you can change number only 15 times per sec
-Selector - based more complicated but efficant
-Analog signal manipulation - even more complicated but even more effciant

Whatever you need depends on how resource work on which number ranges it flows around so tell more about it. If it's just 1 or 2 digit number then Counter could work for you but if it's something more then you would need something more

Na, dats the case, i can't use selectors or counter, the amount of resources will be counted in steps of 25 (min) up to 1000, could you explain the way your idea with the analog signal works? btw thanks 2013-05-10 16:38:00

Well its kind of complicated, you need memory cell (there was thread about it search for it), you lock some snalog signal it, then you manipulate it and swap it, you can do that by lock modified signal to other memory cell and then copy it to original. Then you use normal analog signal probe as display. keep in mind you got max 100 with analog signal, but it can have feactions, so for extra digits use them.
