Welcome to "Powers", a fully multiplayer series of levels in which you take up special powers and use them in a quest to defeat the evil Queen Syndra.

So, let me talk about my inspirations a little before getting into the level... (Feel free to skip to the next image if you don't want to hear my life story.) I remember playing a level once called Silhouette of the Elements. (http://lbp.me/v/h1t2k6) Sound familiar? You've probably played it, too. It was featured in LBPC's very own spotlights, once (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/content.php?378-Community-Spotlight-Episode-106). I was presented with a choice of elements and, thinking I would get some sort of abilities based on those, I picked Fire. I was slightly disappointed to learn that that simply changes the theme of the level, but I still think it was a cool idea. I never finished though because, hilariously, my PS3 overheated and I didn't come back. (Though I'm definitely gonna do it now.)

I played another level (that I just can't find now...) where you pick between a mage, wizard, archer or... I forget what the last one is. But when playing, I found that there was really no difference between the characters outside of the look.

Lastly, while playing with my friend and looking through Mm Picks, I got frustrated by how many 1-player only levels there were. Even I started to feel guilty as I made a whole single player SERIES! (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=79019-Mega-Sack!)

And so, I set out to make a level where you get powers, you pick from different characters, and there's support for up to four players! Thus, "Powers" was born. (The name was actually originally a placeholder. I just needed something to identify it on my moon, so I called it POWERS so I'd know what it was, and I ended up getting attached.)

So, you start in a lush place known as Sky Garden, attempting to catch the evil Queen Syndra before she leaves as you suspect she's there. You don't have much of a plan besides just chasing her, but hopefully it works out!

Pick between Fire, Electric, Ice and Rock. Every level features areas specially for each power! Play it once with each power or bring friends and do it all in one go!

And every level features a boss, so don't think that a lack of enemies means you're gonna get through easily.

At the moment, only Acts 1 through 6 are completed, but I'll update as they're made. And please, give me as much criticism as you can! I'm not afraid to go back and alter levels to make them better or fix glitches. So have fun, guys!

Just played this one. The powers themselves are very fun, but the level could definitely benefit from some more details and stickers. The Scoreboard looked beautiful. You ought to kit out the rest of it like that! But.... I got to light my farts on fire for a double jump so all is forgiven. XD2013-05-09 23:41:00

Yay. Great level.

I love the idea with the different element based abilitys.
It's really a bunch of fun playing it with some friends and saying: "Go aside - my power is needed here

We absolutely enjoyed playing this level.

If there is a point, which could be improved, than it's the design.
You don't walk through a real environment. If you would create nice backrounds (whatever: a cave, a forest, a castle, a swamp or something else), this would increase the atmosphere running though a fantasy world and doing something useful (or good, or bad, or ugly, just as you like) with this god-given powers

Yeah, the first level is really just straightforward, and the whole point was to be not really populated like most gardens, but since people seem to think the choice is pretty bland, I'll go back and fix it. The others levels (especially Act 3) is definitely a lot more populated with design.		2013-05-14 22:35:00

I'm apparently on a Unicorn kick this week, because all I can think of are rainbow unicorns. XD I blame MyMagic and her glitter-panda stickers. Started a vehicular contest in honor of building my first vehicle battle. XD I've only just finished the Deep Ocean Boss yesterday. DO has already gotten an Honorable Mention with the Spotlighters, but better late than never! Besides, a level should be able to stand alone without a boss. Of course now I see Cuddles and think 'Dang, I really need to go back and bring some older levels up to speed on quality. XD Her stage backdrop alone makes me happy.


I played through Part 2 Thundertech Industires. It's a step up from 1. It's what I would expect from the series. It's very fun indeed, but the visual style may need some touch-ups. The level relies on the Avalon Background for much of the look. As a functional level though, it's quite fun. I tried electric this time. Next one I'll try Rock. XD Also, ha ha ha the bad guy was hilarious. He was making all sorts of evil-villain mistakes. It was very funny.

Actually one moment in the first level really made me laugh. Queen Syndra has this really outlandish outfit, and then she calls you a freak. Look who's talking lady, look who's talking. XD I'd say the levels are going to trend on the upward incline in awesomeness, so if you guys haven't tried any yet, you should definitely give them a chance.
