Level Five of Crystal Crisis 2 sends you under the sea to contend with the dangerous denizens in the dark below. Swim the fathoms to avoid painful murder at the flippers and tentacles and jaws of jellyfish, eels, sharks, and an octopus. A fully-underwater adventure not often seen in LBP with nice looking scenery and fun environments.

Swim this way for adventure.

If you're not careful, stones pushed by currents will squash you.

Why yes that is a shark with a laser beam attached to its head.

Hermia is a fashionable crab with the brain of a goldfish. And yes, she's the villain.

The Boss Fight involves avoiding bad music from a musically inclined, opera-singing, viking, cuttlefish. Yes, you read that right.

Author's Notes: Boss is added fashionably late, and this level segues right into Lost Paradise where you'll start by exploring the wreckage of the Black Star.

Pros: My best scenery and level length, with some more cinematic level events. A well chosen music selection, and intricate atmosphere makes it a lot of fun. First boss is fun! Second one is my first ever try at top-down stuff so, it's not perfect. At all. But you can't die unless you somehow get crushed on accident, so hopefully players will be fine.
Cons: Top down section isn't very detailed, and I would have liked to have done more with Keiji. Indigo Crystal is hard to see being abducted, but I promise it's there! I may touch that up later. Hopefully the Boss is easy enough to interpret what to do, what with the big pink arrows. XD

I was really enjoying playing this with a friend until we hit a problem with the boss fish (I think, lol!). Here's a pic of the guy I mean

http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/021d3d3563c3eb115bec82321a994664b0863569.jpg

I died close to the end of the run and was thrown back to the checkpoint at the start of the section but the fish did not reset and when we swam back to him we were killed by gas every time we got to his tail. That meant we were stuck as we couldn't get past him. I'm not sure what was meant to happen at that point but it would be great if you could fix it and I'll happily replay.

Very cool level otherwise - loved all the hazards and evil sea creatures! XD

I'll have to check on it. You ARE supposed to jump back to the beginning, but the Shark is supposed to respawn every time. I will have to take a look why he didn't respawn, because I tested that several times successfully.2013-05-08 13:33:00

All righty, I found the problem. XD

What's happening is that the complexity meter is so close to maxing out, that it can only spawn 1 shark at a time, and it needs to be able to spawn two. Not that there will ever BE two, but when one is spawned, it needs room to spawn another that can destroy the first. So I've deleted a few unimportant background items that will never be missed, or even noticed really, and I re-tested it. He should spawn correctly now, but let me know if you have continuing issues.

I don't know if having multiple players makes a difference on the complexity meter. I assume it wouldn't but....

I can only imagine how large your Queue is Bio. D: I think I would probably have a crying fit if I had to check through that many at once. Actually, had I originally known all of the spotlighters had to play EVERY level in the showcase, I would never have posted three at once from the start. XD You can skip mine if you guys want, I know how busy you all are!2013-05-09 21:19:00

Got a nice juicy update for Deep Ocean. We now have an accompanying BOSS FIGHT level in store for you.

For easy access (That is, to skip the long swimming level) the Boss Fight can be found directly through the level HUB. So play this one:
http://lbp.me/v/k7f-4x

Then hop on over to the Hub section, and either walk or teleport to Deep Ocean and its Boss. This is my first ever top-down shooter-esque level, so go easy on me. XD

Did you happen to get to try the level boss, Avundcv? The shark is just a level extension really, since people seem to like sharks. XD

The actual Deep Ocean Boss was posted only just the other day. You can skip to it through the level hub so you don't have to replay anything. The Boss is an opera-singing cuttlefish. :3

I loved this. Maybe one of the best levels I have ever played. You get a level of complexity in your graphics that I envy. It reminds me of the sort of stuff I like to make. Back in LBP1 days I had a series of nature based levels that I am pondering redoing and publishing as my next series on a new PSN account. Anyway I had 2 sea levels in it and you did a lot of the same gameplay stuff I did. eels, jellyfish and octopus but man yours looks so much better than mine. Granted it was LBP1 and I had way less experience but still I would never think of using those monster arms as jellyfish tentacles, just great stuff. Super impressed I will play more of your stuff for sure. and I will be working on remaking my other stuff and giving you a run for your money. Not meant in a competitive way but in a you inspire me to do better way.2013-05-30 19:43:00

Wow, I appreciate the compliments.I don't think Deep Ocean was THAT good but... thanks!

Don't sell yourself short though. I quite liked your Magic Cinema Hub, I started playing The Annoyingest Night, but my sleep hour rolled around before I could get very far. It had a pretty strong set up.
