Corrupt File!

Archive: 6 posts

I entered lbpV and as it was loading, a page came up that said my file is corrupted, and I can retry or delete, I retried 4 times, but no luck. Is there anything I can do other than delete my file?
I really don't want to because I have:
over 100 awesome downloaded community levels
4 unfinished level projects that I have been working on simultaneously
loads of tech demos on my moon to test if certain things were possible (most of the time, they were)

I'm going to retry loading my file some more, but has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Unfortunately it sounds like you might have lost all your data.

Same thing happened to me a few months back, but I had my files backed up on the cloud save. Thank god for ps+.

If you have a ps3 you can back your data up on it. If not, upload any levels you are working on to the lbpvita server, and just lock the level.

Make sure you back up your levels like that in the future.

I am truly sorry for your troubles.

Well, I guess I'll have to wipe it. Next time, I'll back it up on my ps3.2013-05-06 20:44:00

This happened to my Persona4 Golden.
Im aware of what caused the issue as well.
When you insert the game card into the Vita a small amber indicator LED starts to blink when its inserted properly. What i was unaware of at the time was that if you slide it in a certain way the Vita wont actually detect it even though its fully inserted and the LED doesn't blink. I ignored it and attempted to start Persona only to have the app corrupt entirely.
At that point i tried to (full) backup and restore but it only backed up and restored a corrupted app. It was becomming more and more painfully obvious that the app needed to be deleated and reinstalled and i was running out of options.

Deleting the app is fine. The only thing i cared about was my save data, so in a last attempt i figured i may as well try and extract it before permanently wiping it out.
I did 2 things:
1- used CMA to back up the app data "Persona4 Golden" Only..
2- Started a new PS+ Subscription for cloud storage and uploaded the app data to the cloud.

After that i deleted the app, reinserted the gamecard, let the app reinstall and then redownload my data from PS+

Long story short... IT WORKED!!!! It was like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. If i had to restore an older backup i would've lost about 12 hours of gameplay. Its better than starting over but at least corrupted apps dont necessarily mean corrupted save data

I don't think that was the case with me, because It's the only game I've had in recently.
I was loading a level named "Litlebigplanet Karting Vita" and it froze, I exitted the game and re-entered it. This probably has nothing to do with it, but I was listening to music, and I didn't want the music to pause when the intro music played, so I was mashing the start button. Then I got the screen that said my file is corrupt.
