You fill the level with water and then make an earthquake at the bottom. That's how a tsunami works rite? :B2013-05-05 22:32:00

You can't make one with real water, if that's what you're asking. Build one out of material and make it move sideways with a piston or a mover.2013-05-06 18:39:00

Hi extremesacboy. Never actually tried to make a giant wave, but, there's a few things you might try.

If its a game where you have to, say, get from one side to the other, going through buildings and such, you could start by placing all your buildings you will go through at the upper part of the level, (either glued to a little piece of matter or an antigrav) the entrance will be up here too (this is where the action takes place) the player then has to run from left to right through each room. any objects like tables etc in the room should be made out of materials that float and not glued down.
Next step is simply to have a chip on the erntrance gate. On this have a player senseor wired to the input on a sequencer. (so when the player(s) enter the sequencer triggers). On the sequencer is a global water tweaker two or three spaces alongr, set the water level to be higher that the room.and the transition time to be the lenght you want for the room to fill. (the reason for a sequencer is that you csan set different water levels in each room by placing more water tweakers.
Lastly, the reason for the space at the start of the sequencer...
This is where you can place a battery to a cut scenen camera(s) that show a tiny version of your cityscape. You can then activate a water tweaker to make a high wave and have the camera view depict the wave washing toward the tiny cityscape.
set the speed of the sequencer so it shows the sequence then jumps back to the entrance gate (and the action)

Sorr2y if its a long-winded explaination, but i'd be happy to show you what i mean. Just add me , sean88

If you are looking for a "wave effect", like, a wall of water going from left to right, it might be possible, but with the use of sackbots, if you don't mind using them.
You can build your whole level at a 90? angle (or less), and use a camera tilted at the same angle, so when the water is rising, it gives the impression of a vertical wave. The player would control a sackbot that has a gyro tilted sideways, and a left or right mover for when you press X, to give the illusion of jumping. The camera follows the player, and because everything is tilted, what you see on screen looks right.
That also mean you have to put a 100% antigrav on all your furnitures, with a NOT gate when they are in contact with water, so they suddenly are taken by the wave when it comes (or when you touch it).

I haven't tested this method yet, but I might try myself, just to check I didn't forgot something.

I've only seen a wave in one level and that was Ship Wreck'd by Pacjonno. It was in LBP and it was a giant curved piece of glass that drowned our players. It was created very well. I don't think that level is available anymore so check out a video of it on YouTube.2013-07-21 17:46:00
