Cuddles the Cuttlefish

Archive: 4 posts

One more project I've got in the works, but I thought it might be neat to ask the community regarding this one. Point of fact, I am not a musician! XD I've made a couple of tracks on a wing and a prayer, but nothing particularly good. Anyway.

I've got a full game storyline called Crystal Crisis 2 in the works, with the first levels being Hero Academy, VR Virus, and Miserable Mire, and the one I'm doing now, Scorpion Valley. The next one in the list is called Deep Ocean; an oceanic themed level quite obviously. The boss I intend to be an opera singing cuttlefish, who's battle consists of dodging electrified music notes until she sings loudly which dislodges rocks from the ceiling. you throw these rocks at weakpoints in the walls which raised the water level, causing floating coral to rise to the surface, and put pressure on a wall supporting a boulder above Cuddles. When the water is high enough, Cuddles hits a high note and is crushed by the rock.

So my question is, are there any sequencer gurus or musicians out there with considerable spare time and charity to create music sequencers for this battle? It would need several. No singing is necessarily required if instruments can be manipulated to sound like a voice.

1. Intro/Verse 1.
2. Phase 1 attack sequence.
3. Verse 2.
4. Phase 2 attack sequence.
5. Fast-Paced Verse 3.
6. Phase 3 attack sequence
7. Song ending and super-high/loud note.

Yay! This sounds very funny

Unfortunately I have absolutely no talent to create music.
Fortunately I love to play community levels, so I'm looking forward to play it when it's published

First of all this sounds like an awesome boss fight, and I really don't say that often! Personally I'd simplify it so you just throw the rocks at the Cuttlefish to damage it - easier to build and WAY easier for a player to understand. Also I'd suggest that you simplify that music considerably if you want any hope of someone making it for you - it's a lot to ask and it could be a nightmare to sync a boss fight to it. If you look at a lot of popular levels they credit the music maker in the description, I'd say that'd be your best bet!2013-04-27 13:43:00

I can definitely eke out sample tracks (I mean I have to!) but they won't be very good. Actually, there's no need to throw things at Cuddles. Beating here requires only one step on your part; throw rocks at walls, and the first verse even reveals that weakpoint. The rest is all fluff!2013-04-27 20:24:00
