Follower 'Judders'
Archive: 4 posts
Ive set up a sack so players control him without knowing when they enter a level (I want them to wear the space pilot costume coz it fits in with the level) but when sack enters anything that moves quite fast everything 'judders' for want of a better word. I've set speeds and strengths to maximum, but still have the jerking. Is there a trick to this?? thanks steve | 2013-04-16 11:53:00 Author: futureboy Posts: 74 |
What do you mean by "everything judders"? If it's the object the sack (bot?) has entered, it could be that you have 2 followers active on that object that are in conflict. | 2013-04-16 12:06:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |
So your Followers are juddering? You haven't really specified exactly what's moving. Just... everything? If it's the Followers, and you have multiple identicle Tags, Yeah, this issue is a pain in the butt. Place a Tag Sensor in a Microchip, the same as the the Tag the Follower is chasing. Give the Sensor a small radius - let's say 20.0 Place a 2 port Selector down. Wire the Sensor into Input 2 and wire Output 2 into Input 1. Copy paste your Follower. Wire both Selector outputs into their respective Followers. Give the lower Follower a radius of 20.0. What will happen is, by default, the max radius Follower is on. When the Followers get close to the Tag, the smaller radius Follower takes priority. With a smaller radius, the Follower won't jutter between multiple targets. | 2013-04-16 12:06:00 Author: Ostler5000 Posts: 1017 |

In the meantime, I came up with my own..disabled the follower....stuck the player controlinator to the contraption with another piece of sticker material which is then destroyed when the vehicle hits its target (tags) which then activates the follower again. Smooth as a babys bum. But I'll log your technique. not wasted. | 2013-04-16 16:17:00 Author: futureboy Posts: 74 |
