It's obvious Disney doesn't care about the fans that they just said F U to? I mean, this whole thing is about Disney distancing itself from core games. Why would you assume that Disney would, in a million years, follow up closing a gaming studio with said gaming studio making a new game? I am confused.

nah, battlefront series was all outsourced, lucas arts just stuck their name on it (did they publish it?) all I'm saying is that alot of game fans of star wars will be miffed at this. disney will need to show they respect the whole fan base of the liscence to ensure the success of their upcoming movie projects and the easiest way to please star wars game fans is to outsource battlefront 3 and announce it's coming sometime. also, I'd argue that disney weren't so much saying 'F u' to the fans so much as that development company. they haven't made anything successful scince force unleashed, and their reputation sucks due to its sequel. as far as I'd care to guess disney probably didn't want to take the risk of allowing them to carry on using up funds for their games which cost alot and earn much less then a game like battlefront could.

This is a tragedy. Sure, their latest games were disappointments (Force Unleashed) and pure abominations (Star Wars Kinect). But they made classics like Grim Fandango, Monkey Island and Republic Commando. They published gems like Battlefront, KOTOR and Jedi Knight. And 1313 seemed awesome. So, what will happen to the IP's? Will Disney hire other devs?

Disney is a multibillionare corporation with milions of potential ways to get money. Those are not the types of companies to spend millions developing a game just to "appease fans". If they wanted to "appease fans", they wouldn't have fired Lucasarts and canceled all their products >_>

Okay, I know everyone hates EA, and they're not wrong. EA should be hated. I hate it as much as the next guy, maybe even more. But bear with me for a second. This could either turn out pretty badly, or it could turn out pretty sweet. All EA has got to do is put their best devs to work and refrain from ruining anything with consumer-unfriendly business practices as they usually do. It won't be easy, but they have to be sick of the bad rep they have accumulated over the years. -Either Visceral or Insomniac make Jedi Knight 4. It'll have great sci-fi feel if made by Visceral, or fun varied weaponry if made by Insomniac. -Bioware makes Knights of The Old Republic 3 and tries not to pull a Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age 2. Boom, awesomeness achieved. -Crytek makes a Republic Commando 2 and focuses more on the gameplay than trying not to make it a harbinger of their newest enginge. Chills. -Dice makes Battlefront 3, and the internet will explode. Bringing a beloved gaming franchise back to its former glory could be EA's ticket to redemption. It could also be their ticket to eternal hatred from the gaming community, if they choose to screw this up. And let's face it, we can't hit a lower point than Star Wars Kinect.

well, saw it coming from disney..., but they are a business and in the business world if something doesnt give profit it must be cut out, and such was the case with lucas arts lately

^ insomniac just uses EA as a publisher, they aren't owned by them and take no orders At least this means if battlefront 3 comes out it'll have an endless supply of over priced dlc map packs... yay... if dice made battlefront 3 though I'd imagine they'd try to do to it what they did with medal of honour with the biyearly releases and the gameplay ripped from battlefield, and I really wouldn't want that game...

I don't think this will have a happy ending. I'm just hoping for the best while expecting the worst. Being cynical and jaded about everything all the time becomes tiring after a while.
