It's been 6 months now since the game's release and still no new level DLC. Has there been any more news on this? I need something to get me back into LBPV.

Well there was the extra objects issue that you got if you bought the Time Saver pack (now fixed and blocks users from using it so don't try it). So it does look like a Marvel Pack is on the way. And there's also a More games section in the arcade.

The Hessian Sackboy Fragrances were released in 2011 as an April Fools Day item.
