Well, I certainly just lied about the burritos, but how cool would that be! There are probably a couple of other small details I should come clean about too. First, this journey is not always so relaxing. In fact if you so dare as dip one big toenail into the water you will be fried like an egg in a hot skillet. It turns out that some little green dudes have “FRIED” all the LBP “AQUA” and now it’s up to you to find out why. I personally think they just like to take warm baths. Second, these little green dudes will be chasing you in compact UFO’s and trying to burn you alive with their freak’n lasers! Yes, freak’n lasers!!! There isn’t much you can do about the lasers except get the heck out of the way. I have confidence that you can avoid them and find your way to the mother ship. You’ll need to destroy that mother ship to send those green dudes packing. For those who like a little more than death defying feats, I’ve included a boatload of point opportunities throughout. Make sure you keep your eyes open for coins, gems, surprises and other hidden secrets along the way. I’ll be curious if anyone can combo their way to 4 million points! Who will be the first person to get their picture taken with the pink shark hidden somewhere in the level? NOTES: This level is only for 1 player. If you get stuck anywhere, just hold the triangle button for a hint or two. Beware that resorting to this type of “cheatery” will cost you points. THANKS: …to everyone who helped test. …to the music creators who give us sound challenged folks tracks to use in our levels. …to all the LBP’ers who have provided me with inspiration and made me laugh and rage throughout the years. …to you for reading this far and last but not least, my loving wife who accepts my addiction (kinda). I agree with Bio, great example of how to promote your level on here. You did an amazing job on this. I know how hard you worked on it. Full to the brim with hidden points and over flowing with eye candy, Aqua-Fried is a must play in my book. You have set yourself a high standard to follow now, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next... | 2013-03-23 22:25:00 Author: thespacemonkey187 Posts: 318 |
Play this level. It is good for your health. I mean it. I felt like a better person after playing through this all the way through. Fantastic level. Would play again many times. I have to step my game up for my next big level now. | 2013-03-23 22:56:00 Author: DreJ1212 Posts: 240 |
Long and fun level full of secret points. Although that tide section in third part was frustrating for me, and boss battle not impressed me, i enjoyed very much. Overall it is original and very good level with great visuals. Must play. | 2013-03-24 01:00:00 Author: goranilic Posts: 332 |
Played allready but must replay, I liked what I saw so far. My good friend Mags said he beat it and pm'd me saying it was a great reccomend to him. Look forward to replaying it fully | 2013-03-24 01:19:00 Author: L-I-M-I Posts: 611 |

Now THAT'S what I call a promotional thread! you should get MMpicked just for this thread alone! I hope I can get home early enough tonight to play this! This is sooo in my queue boss. Thanks for props! No worries about playing right away. You have set yourself a high standard to follow now, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next... A silhouette level might be next for me… I have a full moon full of incomplete levels and ideas, but I’m positive that my next project is going to be short and sweet! I’m really sorry to all who thought they could hop in and out in under 5 minutes. Play this level. It is good for your health. I mean it. I felt like a better person after playing through this all the way through. That is pretty funny stuff man! I'm glad I impacted your health in a positive way! I'm looking forward to your next publish! Long and fun level full of secret points. Although that tide section in third part was frustrating for me, and boss battle not impressed me, i enjoyed very much. Overall it is original and very good level with great visuals. Must play. I'm sorry that 3rd section caused you so much grief. Was it the part where you had to grab and hang until the tide went down? Did you know that you could hold triangle to get hints in the level? Hints here would have shown you all the places where you could grab and hang safely. It’s always difficult deciding how hard to make certain gameplay sections, but I do agree that this section isn’t the easiest. What could I do make the boss better? The thermo was really causing me issues to do too much more, but I would like to improve it some if I could. I’m hoping to publish a “cliff notes” version of this soon for players who only have 5 minutes. It would just be a couple of sections and the boss battle. Thanks for playing and providing valuable feedback! Yay! That's entertainment! I enjoyed every minute of this level. Great gameplay, wonderful scenery and a weird story I love it Excellent!!! Thanks for the positive remarks and I absolutely love that you called it weird! Played allready but must replay, I liked what I saw so far. My good friend Mags said he beat it and pm'd me saying it was a great reccomend to him. Look forward to replaying it fully Thanks for playing and let me know if you find any bugs or suggestions for better anything. I actually had to cut out and change a few things last minute today before I published due to thermo issues. I highly recommend not using level links as they are a pain and a bit untrustworthy. There was so much more I wanted to do to this level, but I decided it was time to just publish as is and move on to my other half done projects sitting on my moon. | 2013-03-24 05:16:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |

I agree that it's difficult to decide how hard certain gameplay sections should be and what to show to player. Hints are probably good solution, but i like intuitive solutions. About boss - i don't think it's not good, just expected something that will surprise me like whole level did. There are no flaws, but it's just a plain boss battle. But, i have to say, all that is just me. And to repeat: i enjoyed the level very much. It worth time and efforts and i hope it will get much more plays. | 2013-03-24 12:18:00 Author: goranilic Posts: 332 |
Played it! Enough can't be said about the visuals here. Wow and double wow! You've done a tremendous job of creating a almost believable environment, you know, not cartoony but more towards realistic. The lighting, music and sounds really tie this altogether to create a very, very enjoyable experience. Wow, there are so many details in it that there's no way I can remember even half of them! Loved the little signs and have to admit, I got a little misty eyed when I saw that one. I love the "exploration" factor of this and it really enhances the gameplay and even replay value. The level is no walk in the park but it's not insanely difficult either. To me, I think it's a great balance, although I did clinch my jaw a few times when those smaller ships would make their passes. Gah, I was scorched so many times by those things but smiling the whole time. I did see a couple of things though that I didn't see when I played this before. I chalk that up to being blinded by the beauty. There are one or two places where the "grass" is moveable, it's not glued down. One is at a tire swing and when you swing to the left, it bumps the grass up. No big deal really. The only other thing I saw was that diamond right before the scoreboard and you try to get it and it says "Denied" and bounces you back. Then, you beat the mothership and it LANDS on the diamond! I wanted that diamond! Color me greedy Anyway, terrific level that is severely underplayed right now. Hopefully a MMpick will cure that. Awesome work man. Really, this is like the level of the year. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-OR6fTeI8EDw/TySWVJINsPI/AAAAAAAABR4/aSEUWR2RrpU/s413/APPROVED.jpg | 2013-03-24 17:53:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

That really irks me that there are a couple of places where the grass is being stupid. I know exactly how it happened and I'll try to find them all and lock them down. Gluing anything in that level at this point is certain rage. As for that last big diamond, I'm sure you or anyone else can get it. In fact there are two ways to get it and you just might even get it on accident if you aren?t careful. I think I've said too much already? | 2013-03-24 18:24:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
Hey, I really enjoyed this, I dont think I've ever played a level that uses collectables, secrets and bonuses on this scale before. Lots of nooks and crannys, some very sneaky too. A quick couple of things that I thought would eliminate a few niggles I had during the few times I played. The death respawn lighting change - when you respawn, its basically too dark to make out the scenery. Its fine if you expect the player to stand still and wait for a few seconds every time you lose a life, but I thought it a bit unnecessary. Some of the grabbables don't disappear and trigger immediately, and a couple of times (in a level with so many, I honestly can't remember where they were) I grabbed a bonus, changed to its layer, it triggered, and I fell behind the scenery and into the water, which was a bit of a cheap death and not down to lack of skill on my part. In the third level, near the beginning, I wandered down to the left and then right and ended up at a diamond on a cliff face. Grabbed the diamond, a UFO comes down and traps me on the cliff face. I tried jumping over the UFO but died several times, so dropped down towards the water, where I saw an island with a golden egg. I tried dropping down there a good few times but it wouldnt let me change layer. I restarted at that point, and found myself in the same situation on the second play, and at that point I found by luck that you can actually just walk through the UFO. Things are all bit confusing and inconsistent there, especially seeing layers you dont know you can't transfer to, and die as a result of trying to reach them is another cheap death IMO. The rockets from the creatinator dont feel as if they emit at the same angle as you're pushing the stick, and you have to compensate by actually aiming off to hit your target. These are minor quibbbles, as theres loads to enjoy here, and its the sort of level I was more than happy to replay a third time, even with the running time - which I dont see as something you need to apologise for, as it's very entertaining all the way. Thanks for making this! | 2013-03-24 21:01:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
As for that last big diamond, I'm sure you or anyone else can get it. In fact there are two ways to get it and you just might even get it on accident if you aren’t careful. I think I’ve said too much already… Ssshhhh...too many hints! I got that diamond and bio is still in front of me on the scoreboard, lol! Great level. I had a lot of fun playing. It's one of those levels where you spend a lot of time going "Noooo" or as you bungle yet another combo, miss yet another secret or die in the water despite knowing it's going to kill you. So yes, fun and frustrating - though not in equal measure fortunately! I have to take my hat off to you for managing to produce a level unlike anything else I've played so far in LBP and, as bio says,it's full of great details and bags of challenge and more secrets than anyone could possibly find (pink SHARK!?!....I never even got a whisper of a pink shark shark...!) Very pretty level too. I loved the clouds in particular. A minor nitpick or two. In the section goranilic mentions with the rising and falling tide, i worked out that you needed to grab the rocks above to survive but it was a tad annoying that when you try and jump directly onto the blue bouncepad at the end you die . That just seemed a trifle unfair. Also there was a section where you needed to jump onto a bouncy drum to get up to a ledge on the right hand side. If you just missed the jump but were able to jump back towards the left, there didn't seem to be any way to get back onto the upper level to get enough height to retry the jump. You ended up having to kill yourself anyway which again was a little frustrating. Awesome level, though. I enjoyed the challenge and, finally, thank you for the shout out for the Spotlight Crew! | 2013-03-24 21:12:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |

If you go back further you can indeed get back to the upper level. Did this a few times myself. @peoria I wouldn't glue any of the grass, just stick a gravity tweaker on it set to 100% Here's that spot I was talking about with the grass http://ic.lbp.me/img/ft/ddcb6107251c8cce620dd4f6a4a0c54c7a5853aa.jpg almost. http://i0.lbp.me/img/ft/560522ef62a4b03d46741ff11b68197a8671aaf6.jpg | 2013-03-24 23:52:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |

Thanks for making this! Thanks for playing and for providing a ton of valuable feedback! You make some great points and I?ll definitely take these into consideration going forward. I know of one place for sure where that coin layer switch will kill you if you hang onto the diamond too long. I really did put every effort into making sure you wouldn?t die cheap on those grabs. I did use a ton of layer blocking in the level which can kill you unfairly if you don't make the correct jump in some places. In some instances it was necessary (on the mountain) to keep you from just jumping to the bottom. The part where you get you stuck behind the UFO on the cliff ? you can jump over it or walk ?through? it. I tried to balance that fairly, but it looks like it got you. Sorry. I also fiddled with that creatinator helmet quite a bit to get a good shot, but it was always off no matter what I tried. That part bugs me a lot too! Thanks again for taking time to write all this up. EDIT: Ssshhhh...too many hints! I got that diamond and bio is still in front of me on the scoreboard, lol! Great level. I had a lot of fun playing. Thanks for playing and taking the time to provide feedback. That tickles my heart to hear you say it was something ??unlike anything else...? That rising tide/cave section seems to be causing a number of people hiccups/rage. Sorry. I tried to show at the start that of that section that you would need to use R1 to grab and where to do it, but I know it only flashes quickly. If you use the hint you could see all the grab spots (). I think I might change it so you can grab anywhere on the ceiling. That jump you mention of the water trampoline is indeed a booger. It used to be much closer, but I jacked it up in one of my last updates before I published. The whole level is a boatload of emit/destroy so changing any section is a major pain in the ****. In fact that section with the cave will freeze my PS3 on occasion when trying to copy or paste it into the main level. Fun stuff! I?m not saying he?s easy to find but they is indeed a pink shark to be found. I made the clouds in LBP paint when that first came out awhile back and though they can be temperamental when used in quantity like I've done here, they are my favorite part too. The Spotlight crew does a tremendous job keeping up with everything. I?m always amazed at the top notch you guys and gals do. Keep up the great work! | 2013-03-25 01:56:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
@lass, I take that back. I was mistaken before. Now I know which drums you're talking about. Yes, those are boogers you know what else I like about this level peoria? I love these mega point bonuses! There's just something satisfying about seeing that 10000 or 50,000 point bonus flash up. | 2013-03-25 03:49:00 Author: biorogue Posts: 8424 |
Atmospheric adventure on wasted earth, staying alive while being hunted by completely despicable aliens. Absolutely loved it. Incredible terrain: those clouds look amazing. And i liked how you gave the typical LBP hills with grass a realistic look. Great SFX: you've really put a lot of effort in al the right sound effects. Probably more collectibles then any other lbp-level in existence. (Read somewehere about a pink shark, will have to come back to hunt for that.) A fantastic experience. When a level is as good as this, then it's length is just a bonus. This one really immerses you in its world. | 2013-03-25 08:27:00 Author: pickled-punk Posts: 598 |

You are certainly correct that this booger took quite a bit of time and effort on my part. To find that pink shark it might cost you points. Just echoing my review here. I'm not sure if other people experienced lag to the same extent as me so this is highly subjective. The level looks really phenomenal. Everything from the landscape to the backgrounds looks superb. Occasionally the level looks a bit clustered, but it's pretty much a non-issue. All of the billboards look a bit out of place, but again: non-issue. My only real complaint in the visuals department would be that the standard aliens don't really look that great. The style of the ships just makes them seem out of place. The mothership looked really neat though, as did the effects (which as mentioned in a review, do go on for longer than they need to). The gameplay on the other hand wasn't particularly enjoyable. The lag in tandem with hectic (and semi-random) gameplay didn't really work out. The result was a sluggish and frustrating level. I normally look for secrets but the amount of lag discouraged me at the time of playing. If the lag issue was resolved it would be a much better experience. It may have just been my connection at the time of playing, I dunno. I'll try playing again later as I only got to the second part. Really good work with the visuals though. | 2013-03-28 20:25:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |

Thanks again for the feedback! Lag was one of my biggest concerns from the beginning, but during testing I heard no complaints. I know for certain that when I emit/destroy whole sections, you will notice a blip of lag, but I haven?t heard any other bad reports until now. I have no doubt that it lagged for you and I?m truly sorry about that. It's my fault for overdoing the detail and not knowing when to balance for performance. I?ll try and learn from this experience and see if I can do better in my next attempt. I?m sorry some of the other elements didn?t vibe with you, but it's all good. Hopefully you?ll give the ?lite? version a go when it's published. EDIT: All, Based on the valuable feedback I've received so far, I've made a few minor tweaks and I?ll continue to do so as time permits. If this was too long or difficult for you, keep your eyes open for a ?5 minute lite? version of AQUA-FRIED coming in the near future. Thanks everyone! NOTE: I did make one rather large scoring change and it's tied to the pink shark ?hidden? in the level. How does a million point bonus sound for finding that shark? I like big numbers, so why not! DOUBLE NOTE: I think that pink shark might actually be fuchsia colored and depending on the calibration of your TV, maybe even green. If it's green, I?m sorry for you. | 2013-03-28 22:54:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
This is great. One of those "I see that thing but how do I get it, and what will I find if I poke my nose in here" levels. Love the old-school arcade feel to all the goodie grabbing, which was quite addictive. Visuals are excellent, very moody and atmospheric. I particularly liked the cloudy backdrop and the death effect. Super cool jumping fish too. A few minor layer issues here and there, but mostly nothing a slightly down tilted camera couldn't fix, just to give the player a better perspective on the environment in some parts (the first long jetty for instance) But as much fun as this level is, I couldn't finish it because... http://i8.lbp.me/img/ft/3b8f3f0037e0d07e513b00f299c74e551df8d419.jpg Now how did I get up there, hmm? | 2013-03-29 00:43:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
It's still a great level, and it was probably just an isolated experience for me. I've yayed and hearted it because of how excellent it looked and because of how much work went into it. | 2013-03-29 02:25:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |
This is great. One of those "I see that thing but how do I get it, and what will I find if I poke my nose in here" levels. WOW, that sucks or was really cool! I'm sorry you couldn't finish. You must tell me how this happened! Thanks for the camera tips too. EDIT: This looks like the level link didn't auto-activate like it should have. This one good reason not to use them. It's still a great level, and it was probably just an isolated experience for me. I've yayed and hearted it because of how excellent it looked and because of how much work went into it. Thanks man! | 2013-03-29 04:19:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
Not only does this Series "DEFINE EPIC", it is one of a kind and has found a place in my TOP 10 most enjoyable levels I have ever played in LBP. BRAVO on creating such an atmospheric and incredible experience! This is "SHOCKINGLY" incredible. The Boss fight left me exhausted, yet wanting more. Awesomeness. Pure Awesomeness. | 2013-03-29 16:30:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |

Thanks for the great and AWESOME review. I really thought I had made this thing too easy, but it sounds like that’s not the case from a lot of people I’ve heard from. I know it’s super long and I certainly can’t argue with that! Anyhow, all this inspired me to make a “Lite” version of AQUA-FRIED, which is almost done. This version should hopefully only take 5-10 minutes to get through and still contains a boat-load of collectable goodies! | 2013-04-02 15:51:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
Just played your level. Was going nicely until I got "beamed up" by the 2nd UFO (ie the one after the 1st level link). It just stopped working and I hung there. Eventually I was able to break free of the beam, but I just continued floating upwards. I floated past another level link which appeared to be locked, so that's probably why it stopped working. | 2013-04-04 19:21:00 Author: Ali_Star Posts: 4085 |

Thanks for the heads up and I’m sorry it hung up for you. Ungreth also got stuck there and floated all the way to the ceiling somehow. It’s due to the game’s issue where level link’s don’t activate all the time. I’m not sure what the issue is, but I know that I’ll never use the m again until I know for sure they are fixed. If you re-played again, odds are that it would work just fine. However, the level is so long, that solution really bites big time! PS - I’m looking forward to playing your Contrast level. It’s hot at the top in my queue! | 2013-04-04 22:10:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |

I could actually physically see the level link icon when I floated up and it had a big padlock on it. So whether the game locked it itself or what.... I dunno. I'll make sure to give it another go at some point, because it's a good level. PS - I’m looking forward to playing your Contrast level. It’s hot at the top in my queue! Hmm Seems like a ok level. but some things really bothered me. The level is pretty laggy in over half of the areas. It felt like I was playing in slow motion. When you die the screen gets really dark & makes a annoying noise, It takes to long for the screen color to go back to normal imo. I personally didn't really like how the enemies were flat non-animated cutouts. I got stuck on the 2nd level at the end were I am guessing a level link was suppose to be. A good tip is never use automatic level links at the end of level. Over half the time these things always screw me & others over. Something i had to learn myself too over time. And below here are some things I did like about the level. *mew I liked how you did the spinning coins. surprisingly not many folk bother with such things. Nice job with using Movepaint for clouds. Seems like hardly anybody uses Movepaint stickers these days. | 2013-04-05 17:06:00 Author: Lord-Dreamerz Posts: 4261 |

I’m sorry about the lag you experienced, because I know how frustrating that can be and I was super worried about it. I’ll work on reducing my complexity in my next level. I also agree the death sequence might be too long. I suppose the best way to combat that is to not die so much. I think I’ll reduce that sequence in the “Lite” version which is almost ready. I decided early on to go with the flat cartoony aliens as a contrast to the detail. I just wanted to mix it up a bit. I have so many of those boogers that once that decision was made, there was no way to easily go back and make drastic changes. Thanks for the positive comments on the coins and clouds. I give those away if you finish. I really need to dabble some more in move paint. I just wish we could use anything other than the move for it!!! | 2013-04-05 19:15:00 Author: peoriaspitfire Posts: 359 |
Awesome level. The entire has excellent visuals, including the painted clouds, and the score combo is well put. It's pretty laggy because of too much details, but it's worth making this level epic. PROS: +Layer glitch, painted clouds, and UFO designs +Score Giver use, including hidden objects +Signs +Boss Battle CONS: -Lag -The change of color each time I die needs to be faster OVERALL: A yay and heart | 2013-04-06 01:57:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
I finally got around to making a short and easy version of this with no level links. I hope anyone who had trouble with the long version, will give this short one a shot and let me know how it was. It's a F4F.
