Midnight City (New Community Level)
Archive: 13 posts
Oh hi! If anyone played my previous level, I made 'Sackship Enterprise!'. I've made a new level called Midnight City. http://i3.api.vita.lbp.me/img/bl/173765ce05eb039cbb1c46645e64cc5630191a2a.png http://vita.lbp.me/v/bp97b I would post pictures, but I experimented a lot with tag/player sensors to make cool lighting effects so it's better to see it in action! (Here's a youtube video, but of course, it would be cooler if you had a chance to play it!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HaLjLkuKLM&feature=youtu.be Anyways, that's it really, if you get a chance to play LBP Vita then feel free to give my new level a try. Many thanks! Adam (ThePlacidCasual). | 2013-03-22 20:02:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |

This is really an outstanding platform experience... the visual are just awesome... very cool to look at and u wanna see what u came up next with... the gameplay is very fun, some parts are amazing and overall it got some fresh ideas in it... i have to admit, i really liked that u didnt include any touch thingies in it... thats the most refreshing thing of all LOL i remember your sackship enterprise lvl and i told u that i found it particullary boring... allthough i really liked the last part... well im not much of a explorer lol, but i felt kinda bad after saying that (cause its still a very good lvl) lol... well but this level was overall very very enjoyable... every bit of it. Great job man! Best Platformer i played in a while. | 2013-03-24 21:33:00 Author: Rough-Tea ![]() Posts: 422 |
Don't worry about it Rough-Tea, constructive criticism is fine! In fact it was partly your comments on how you found the exploration bits of Sackship boring that prompted me to try an all out platformer! Though I've got a new* idea for a level that's mainly story, so maybe you can skip that one...! The only annoying part is that I had a few other ideas to put Midnight City, but I think the abundance of neon stuff started to make it lag even with dephysicalising everything I could so I had to finish it off a touch abruptly for my liking. *I say new, on the first LBP all those years ago I made a level called Welcome to the Library that had 56000 plays and 5 stars...I'd love to make an updated version on LBPVita...anyways, thanks for the feedback and kind words! | 2013-03-24 22:47:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
Well, i actually played a few "slower" story driven levels or levels that needs to be explored and i enjoyed them, but u really need to play those alone.. but i prefer levels that greatly focus on gameplay... often enough i dont have much patience lol... 56k plays wow, insane how many plays u can get on lbp and lbp2.... u can be glade your level got played by 2500 peepz, u wont get much more on the vita lol, only if u got a tp... but it really deserved all those plays, i wouldnt even wonder much if it would get picked someday. After giving u that feedback, i started to allways point out something positive about other players levels, like if i wanna bring in my opinion about things i didnt like or if i try to give constructive criticism i allways try to put it in a positive way... theres allways atleast one good thing to say about any level... and nobody is helped with negative nancy talk lol creators have to help other creators out man. I realised how good it can be, to get some positive reactions... really helps. And it exactly this is what strongens a community... i looked into this new competition thread and they basically threatened each other lol.. i dunno... its silly. I had to hearten u lol for beeing not mad at me and beeing an awesome creator lol i know its been a while but when i saw your new level i had to think back lol | 2013-03-24 23:24:00 Author: Rough-Tea ![]() Posts: 422 |
Oh yeah, I'm chuffed to bits that I've made two levels and both have cracked 2500 plays on the Vita. There may not be a huge amount of Vita players, but it's a joy to make levels on - I never bothered making levels on LBP2 because they take so long to make, but with the Vita you can pick up and tweak a level whenever you have a spare half hour, or as I often do on my lunch break at work. It would be nice to reach 56000 people again, maybe on day when the world realises how ace the Vita really is...! You're right though, positivity is the way to go (though as mentioned there's nothing wrong with being constructive). At the end of the day, it's all for fun, I'm heartened when I see other great levels get recognition on LBP and a lot of people put a lot of time and effort into making these things. | 2013-03-25 21:40:00 Author: Unknown User ![]() |
I played this earlier today, and I actually really love this. The visuals are strong and consistent throughout, but what I liked most would be the gameplay because there's a lot of things in there that are simple, but I don't see very much, or you've put your own twist on them. I'm also quite in love with the prize you give out at the end (the big ferris wheel type thing) since I saw it in your level, so kudos for giving it as a prize ![]() Anyway, I gave it a big ol' <3 and ![]() | 2013-03-30 17:43:00 Author: Coxy224 ![]() Posts: 2645 |
