Emitter Problems
Archive: 7 posts
Hey guys! **EDIT - Solved** Ok solved the problem, turned out that I'd set my material tweaker to 'non stick' and then tried to glue them together. They seem to glue together until they're emitted, strange. Anyway, all solved now, thanks guys! Original Problem: Just ran into a strange problem with my emitters that I've never had before. Not sure how well I can explain this but I'll give it my best shot. When I try to select where I want the object to emit, it only lets me move part of the object while another part remains stationary. When I actually trigger the emitter, the whole object emits where the stationary part was and not where I moved the other part. I've managed to get around this temporarily by moving the location of the emitter, but this isn't an ideal solution. I'm guessing it's got something to do with the object I'm trying to emit being glued together? If you've come across this before or know how to fix it please let me know as it's been bugging me! Thanks. | 2013-03-19 20:04:00 Author: Mopkins Posts: 123 |
I would make a copy of the original object and mess with it a bit to insure it is all once piece, re-glue if necessary then try again by capturing the whole object. The reason I suggest making a copy is I hate to change position of parts if they are unconnected or mess with it's orientation by accident. A copy you can mess with it without accidentally breaking your original. | 2013-03-19 20:14:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

It's definitely all one piece, spent ages making sure everything was together and I captured it correctly, so unless the logic on one piece is interfering with it? I've got 100% dampened anti-grav tweakers on one part which could be causing it? | 2013-03-19 20:26:00 Author: Mopkins Posts: 123 |
Wow... that is odd. I have emitted huge objects before and other than having issues getting it place correctly, usually no issue. | 2013-03-19 20:30:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Have you tried deleting and replacing the Emitters? I haven't had your exact problem, but I've had emitters malfunction in other ways. Simply replacing the Emitter has worked for my problems in the past. I have emitted huge, complicated, glued objects with 100% dampening. The only problem I've had with that is a little lag. Good luck, hope you're able to fix it | 2013-03-19 21:57:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |

Well, that is a useful bit of information. I should write it down somewhere... | 2013-03-20 04:05:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
