Four Seasons OP

Archive: 10 posts

Hi guys!

it's been a bit since i made a level, It's a Platforming level, lots of bounce pads, some grabbing and some grappling hooks.

went for a scenic look on this and did some voice acting for some short cutscenes (less than 1 minute)

would be awesome if I can get feedback on it to see if there are any loopholes and well, if anyone likes it lol. I forgot how to put pictures onto the actual level itself, but I see at the bottom I can add pics to this so that may help perhaps.

im hoping I can get more than 20 plays this time, i generally dont even break 100 even though i put tons of hours, but im preaching to the choir there haha

thanks guys!

Thank you very much! Honestly I was planning an epic fight scene with The first butterfly fairy girl and the enemy dude. I pulled off some neat stuff but due to work and school i couldnt finish it so I did the cutscenes that you saw instead. Still pretty happy with it. and thanks again, I will play your levels asap! though I work 15 hours tommorow so perhaps the next day! thanks again guys!

really wish it was easier to get more plays

also I have a sequel in mind, it was going to have 4 parts to represent each of the four seasons buuut again time haha

No problem, mate
There's no need to play my levels. If you like, play one of them, if you have no time, forget about it
I play almost every level, which comes to the LBPC showthread. F4F isn't that important for me
I had fun playing your level ^^

Finished this earlier today. I loved how detailed the visuals were. The enviorment had a lot going on and it looked great. I'm glad you were able to ut in so much without making the level feel cluttered with decorations.

The gameplay was a bit of weak point for me though. Usually simple challenges are ok, but I really didn't feel much of a threat from this one. There are some parts where you can fall into gas, etc, but for the most part, the bouncepads keep the player from falling in with little effort. I actually think the player can get through a good portion of the cave without any danger at all. I think it got stuck in a limbo of being too gameplay based to be a "look at what I made" gallery type level, but too simple to be a full on platformer. Certainly not terrible, but at least for me, noticeable.

The cutscenes were a nice addition, again, you could showcase some great designs, both in the enviorments and even with the characters. Some people might like subtitles, but I think the voice acting was clear enough.

Finally, I was unsure of whether there was supposed to be a conclusion. After the second cutscene, where sackboy is getting ready to face the enemy, the level just ends. I'm assuming this is supposed to be a cliff-hanger for the sequel you want to make, but at the time, it felt like it was going to continue, but didn't.

All in all, it's an awesome level. Hopefully you have the chance to continue the series.

Thanks a lot for the reply and review. And I totally get what your saying, The level is supposed to continue in a sequel. Honestly it was going to be a four part level, it would have gone through all the seasons of weather, well the themes of vegetation, snow, storm and fire. the first part which you played was meant to show the beauty of the world before Alocer destroys it, the 2nd part is supposed to be very dangerous with the world falling apart so it could be a contrast to the first.

honestly what happened is that I got a new job, and have a lot of college work, so I wanted to publish the first act then continue as i could. I will get back to it though.

and yeah I was wondering how to add suubtitles since I voice it through the sackbot brain.

thanks a ton again!
