Kart control suggestions please

| I recently published a level using a custom Kart and control system to produce RPG style gameplay. I used a Handling Tweaker with Tank controls, and a Kartinator so that all movement is controlled by the left stick and X button jumps. There's one thing I didn't get working the way I'd like, and this is where I'm hoping someone may have a brilliant idea.  As I said, left stick moves the character and X button jumps. If you're already moving forward, it's not hard to jump across a gap or onto a platform. But from a standstill, you can only jump straight up. I'd like the ability to have some forward movement when jumping from a standstill, making it easier to jump onto platforms. I have tried using a Self Weaponizer to give forward boost (like the boxing glove does) but that's too much boost for too long. I need small and subtle. I also tried using a Thruster. Silly me, that doesn't work on a Kart. So I kinda think it's not possible to get the movement during a jump that I wanted, but not ready to give up yet... Did you try nagging ConfusedKartman/Michael Buffaloe to get thrusters to work on karts?  You could move away from karts altogether, but then you'd have to do the complete controls yourself. | 2013-03-23 22:54:00 Author: Rogar  Posts: 2284 |
