Spectrum Analyser/ EQ for videos

Archive: 5 posts

Hello everyone. Long time no see. I've started up another YouTube channel. It's going to showcase all the music that I have created on Logic Pro 9. I have a song that I am pretty proud of, but I want an interesting way to showcase it in a video. I know it is not particularly original, but I love the idea of a Spectral Analyser. If you have seen any of Monstercat's videos, you'll see that he has a bouncy up and down thing that represents the music. (Here's a link to a Monstercat video: Flight- Tristam & Braken (http:///www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVMuwa-HRCQ) )
So does anyone got a way to make a similar effect in a video? I know Adobe After Effects can do the job, but I ain't willing to splash out $999 for it. I could get the Demo, but I'd like to be able to use it for more than 30 days. So are there A) any plug-ins for Logic that have a aesthetically pleasing Analyser (The one in Logic is darn ugly. I like the idea of bars, not a wavy line,) or B) an app that analyses the output of the Mac.
Thanks in advanced.

You know if you got the cloud based version it would be cheaper as it is per month.. Not sure how long you have to sign up for it though.2013-03-16 16:46:00

Still. It took a lot of persuading of my parents to let me get Logic, I doubt they'll want me forking out hundreds of pounds for another program. And plus, I really don't think it's worth paying for as their's pretty much only one thing I want it for.2013-03-16 19:13:00

You could just download Winamp or something and screencapture a custom spectrum analyser you like from that. Shouldn't be difficult to splice that video on top of a static background like in your YouTube link.2013-03-17 03:38:00
