How can I stop pushing?

Archive: 8 posts

I have 2 pieces of invisi material and one is pushing the other. How can I stop this? Here's my set up if it helps to know: I have a follower on a piece of holo set to follow sackboy, and glued to it a big hollow square of invisible material. Then I have a block of invisi with touch logic attached so the player can drag it around. The block is within the hollow square that is following sackboy. So the idea is that the player cant move the block out of range but it does since it is pushing the hollow square about. Any ideas?2013-03-16 09:07:00

try using a follower set to follow touch on the block , and have the strength set lower than the follower that is following sackboy2013-03-16 10:32:00

Do you need the invisible materials to keep their physical properties?

If not I'd say just dephysicalize one of them.

When I added the follower to the block it stopped moving?

I do need it to keep its physical properties.

Can u make that block that holds the block bigger so it doesnt get pushed anymore, or weaken the strenght of the block u can touch? or put an antigravity tweaker on the bigger block that holds the smaller one, and it gets activated if u touch the smaller block, so the bigger one doesnt move at all IF u touch the moveable one...?2013-03-16 17:58:00

add a touch sensor to the block and wire it to the follower, that way the follower is only active when u are touching it and will be affected by gravity when u let go

Thanks for all the different ideas. The touch senser I had broke, when I replaced it the object started to move again. So I tried the follower idea again and set the signal strength to zero on the block and 100 on the one that I didn't want to move. This didn't work. So I next tried the anti gravity with a touch senser that Rough-Tea suggested and I upped that dampening to 100. It almost stays still now when the block is touched. Although it moves a little now and again I can live with it. Close enough.

Thanks a bunch!

when i said lower strength on the touch follower i meant say 70% where the sackboy follower would be 100%. Of course 0% wont work.........
