Crushed Players - In/Out Mover Help
Archive: 8 posts
So... I want to crush a player with an In/Out mover. An item that bursts out to the front layer and kills the player. Now, I've been told that this is impossible. However... if this is impossible, then what exactly happens during the story level "The Cakeinator" in Victoria's Lab? During the level, you acquire a cake shooting Creatinator, and there's a section where you have to use it block giant drawers that pop out of the background. Walk in front of them (without blocking them), and they'll pop out and kill you. So my question is, how do you achieve that? (Do let me know if you need some examples of what I'm talking about, like links or videos.) | 2013-03-15 16:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
I believe that was done by having the settings on the mover set to push more than what sackboy weighs, if you look at the settings, there's a strength setting, change it to high and it should work | 2013-03-16 02:32:00 Author: damaz10 Posts: 771 |

Well, the drawers don't actually kill you rather they push you to the front layer where you fall into the hazard that kills you. It is impossible to crush the player if you are in the front-most layer. Best thing to do is have a section where the moving block is in the back or middle layer to push the player up one layer into a hazard or so they fall to their death. If the player is already in front-most layer, nothing will happen though. Cheers | 2013-03-18 15:21:00 Author: cradle2grave Posts: 148 |

Strange, I could've sworn that The Cakeinator had movers that crushed you, rather than pushing you into a hazard... The levels I'm working on feature a Sackbot that can't change layer (the levels take place entirely in the front layer), so I can't really do that... Oh, well, save it for a future project, I suppose. Thanks! | 2013-03-19 05:17:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could try crushing them with a fast invisible block from above before triggering the mover. Might work visually. | 2013-03-19 10:28:00 Author: Rogar Posts: 2284 |
I'd go with Rogar's suggestion. To make invisible material, easier than shrinking down material: Take a piece of Sticker Panel (Move Pack) and set to 0% opacity, then change to Corrugated Plastic. If you don't have Sticker Panel, get a piece of editable invisible material from the Creator's Toolkit (http://lbp.me/v/fpjq8v) | 2013-03-19 22:02:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
If you want, you can make it so it puts you in a controllinator right before it moves and in the controllinator put a destroyer set to disappear that is hooked up from the controllinator occupied sensor which will make it look like the player has been crushed, when he hasn't if you want you can just join me on LBP and I can show you http://lbp.me/u/PuturosuL | 2013-03-21 04:33:00 Author: amiel445566 Posts: 664 |
