Serious help needed! Please

Hey guys,

I'm working on a level right now. Things are going pretty smoothly. But there are two things that are realllly bugging me. I don't know if there's an actual solution to these ones. So I'm turning to the community for help.

I want to add sackbots to my level. But they seem to take up ALOT of thermo. I want to have a minimum of 12 in my level at any given point. If possible more. But it seems like as soon as I start putting them in, the thermo jumps up real high, real quick. I'm pretty sure I have seen other LBPV levels have many sackbots (not at a single point in time however) and in LBP2 you could have a tonne of the lil guys following you around. But in LBPV.. it just doesn't want to let me create my dream

The next problem is with the 'Note' tool. I have several notes in my level that displays text and a controlinator that can rotate the camera when I move the right stick. However once it gets to about a 150 rotation.. all the text starts to fade away! Once it's completely upside down, all the text on the screen that should be displayed by the note is completely invisible. I don't know why it's like that, or why the developers made it like that. But it really is hindering the limits of my level. Does anybody else experience this? or know a solution to this problem?

I would reallllllly appreciate any feedback on these problems. I do want to share my latest creation with you all.. but these things keep getting in my way Thanks alot for any advice you may have!!

Cheers guys

With the sackbots you could just make emitters and emit them can't you ? Takes up less space.
Can't help you with your second problem sorry

I don't have a vita so maybe my suggestions aren't working fine.
I just can talk about my experience of LBP2. Perhaps this is transferrable to LBPV.

Sackbot/Thermo: You can spend the sackbots with emitters some seconds before the player arrives the screen where the sackbot has to be.
As far as the player leaves this area you let the sackbot destroy himself. When the bot appears the thermo rise, and after destroying, the thermo falls again. In my last movie I used more than triple thermo space with this emitting and deytroying strategy. The limit before a level laggs is aprox three and a half thermo by using emitting/destroying (on LBP2!).

Notes: maybe you could use the magic mouth instead of the notes. If you don't like the speech bubbles, just choose "subtitles".

Hope this helps a little bit

Well, with the Sackbots u dont have much choice, than to emit them... they take incredible much thermo on the vita...

With the Notes, well it sounds like a bug... u might wanna try to play around with it, put it on different material, maybe its cause of that... try sticker material, holo or invisible... put on the local view... and just mess around with it, it really sounds like some sort of bug u just have to play around with, to find a solution.

In LBP1 and 2 the thermo was an indication of the memory used/available for your level. The Vita has more memory than a PS3, but less processing power. So, the LBP Vita thermometer is a combination of the memory and CPU usage, i.e. the thermometer will go up a lot if you use objects that require a lot of processing power, even if the object requires a small amount of memory.

Sackbots require a lot of processing power, this is why they use up so much thermo. The game is trying to prevent the player from doing something that could cause the frame rate to drop and spoil their level.

You can have as many sackbots as you want in a level if you emit them, but the frame rate will drop when there are too many for the processor to process.

A useful guideline if you want to avoid frame rate issues is to never have more than 4 sackbots in a level at any given time.
