Your first time...

Archive: 37 posts

I have seen "your first kiss" (this is not one) threads over many forums and "your first time doing [insert something inappropriate here]" so I decided to take from those and do something a bit different this time.

I do not think that this qualifies as a forum game, as there is no actual social game here. The catch is this: post a funny (hopefully a true) story about your first time doing something weird or essential, such as your first time doing laundry or your first time eating chicken. You can even tell about things, such as your first kiss, but let's keep it friendly and harmless to all ages.

Anyway, my first time driving a car outside of driving-school was not so long ago. I am not a big fan of cars and do not like driving cars overall and I avoid it the best I can. In the summer of 2011 me and my buddies were supposed to go out to my friend's summer cottage (about 30 minute drive far from my home) and my friend's car (which was the car we were supposed to go there with) broke down right before it. Well, me as the only person in the group to own an actual car had to drive 6 people into a cottage in the middle of nowhere.

The trip wasn't long but the drive lasted me about one and a half hours, while an average driver would've taken only half an hour. There only were five seats in the car and I brought six people and their luggage with the car (me and my luggage included) into the middle of nothing on my first actual time driving a car. I consider it an achievement. Even if it took an hour longer than it was supposed to take.

So what's your funny/weird first time doing something? Whatever it is, comment below and please... let me know.

My first time going to the laundry mat.

I was 10 or 11, and I went with my brother and my dad. I don't remember why he brought me and my brother, but it was terrible.
We left around 8PM. I had nothing to do the whole time while the laundry was washing.

There isn't really much else to say about it since we were just doing a lot of laundry, except that we didn't get home until 2AM.

I remember the first and pretty much only time I almost got into a fight. It was in third grade.

Apparently some people just aren't DOWN with the rules of four-square, so they get up in your bizz. This guy was genuinely mad over a game of four-way catch. So he threw the ball at me and called me a diaper-baby. Establishing that NOBODY EVER calls me a diaper-baby, I spat it right back at him and got him in the groin with the ball.

I think that was it. He just stormed away, he didn't even vow revenge on me and my family, which occasionally happened during games of tag. Seriously.

I remember the first time I killed a man.

It was GLORIOUS.

... Seriously though. Uh... my first job interview is tonight. It didn't happen yet, so /shrug

Ooh! I know!

Actually, I don't. I typed that hoping I'd know by the time I was finished typing it, but my mind was so full of typing that I didn't have time to thinka bout what I was typing. So I got nothing.

Ahh, my first time driving the Oscar Meyer Weiner-Mobile... it never got out of that vat of chocolate pudding... Of course, that's because I woke up from that dream.

But yeah, my first time driving was pretty intense, as I nearly got into a crash. Thankfully, I avoided that car safely, and it wasn't so terrifying that I needed my brown pants.

My fist time hearing a girl fart was minding blowing.
I grew up in a household with two older brothers, my mom and my dad. My brothers and I had our own bathroom so I was never in ear-shot of my mother using the bathroom. For years I really never thought that girls/women fart at all. I knew through common sense that everyone had to take a dump but the act of farting was just so manly to me. My brothers and I would see who would fart the loudest and be proud of it I even remember my dad doing it a few times. My mother would always be disgusted at us though - I guess that's why, while I was growing up, I associated farting with boys/men only.
However, this all changed once I reached high school. I don't remember which grade but I do remember, and will never forget, the incident.
So me and my best friend decide to sneak in the girls bathroom just to see how it looks. We were certain that no other girls were inside. Boy, were we ever so wrong. As we entered we heard noises that i only thought come from a boy/man. I remember that we quickly ran out without saying a word, just laughing. I was also in shock a little because I thought that it had to be a boy in there. We never waited around to see who came out that bathroom but I'm sure it was a girl - why would a boy take a dump in a girl's bathroom right?
Anyways years of dating proved that it was in fact a girl in that bathroom on that day years ago in high school. Females sure are beautiful but they can let it out just like men

I still remember to this day the first time I played Lbp (the original) in the end of 2009. I even remember the moment when Sackboy came out of the checkpoint in the introduction. And back then I thought that Lbp was like, the coolest game ever.
Aaah...memories

Ahh, my first time driving the Oscar Meyer Weiner-Mobile... it never got out of that vat of chocolate pudding... Of course, that's because I woke up from that dream.

Funny... however the first time I ever saw the Oscar Meyer Weiner-Mobile in real life I was staying in a hotel in Louisville Kentucky for what seemed to be an eternity while working on a project for several months. That year I ended up staying some 210 days in hotel rooms due to my job... but I digress..

Anyway.. I got to where I knew this hotel so well that I would ask for certain rooms if available due to noise, close to ice machine, parking etc.. Well after getting back to the hotel late one night, I went outside to get some fresh air and parked down below me (I was on the 2nd floor) was the freaking wiener mobile parked sideways behind the normal parking available. So it was a great look at this thing from the side and above, perfectly centered to my room. ...a perfect vista to wiener mobile heaven. lol

It was one of those WHAT THE HECK!? moments that just floored me. lol

Oh my god I recongised him from somewhere but couldn't put my finger on it. That thread was hilarious.

Unfortunatly I cannot think of a good 'first time' currently because my life is incredibly uninteresting. Yay

The first time... I ate a cheesecake.
There were no instructions on "how to eat it" on the box. It sounds fun now, but it really worried me, as if eating it cold or heating it before would totally change my first cheesecake experience, because if I didn't like it, I would probably never buy one again. I wondered for nearly one hour and actually googled how to eat a cheesecake to be sure I would eat it the good way, reaching optimum taste, to fully appreciate it.

I didn't find the answer on the internet so I ate it tepid. :meh:

Yep. Say, anyone want to donate me money so I can buy her a Disney world pass? XD

My first time going to a football match.

Can't remember anything.... Well not exactly anything i remember it being a Scotland match and it ending in a draw not to mention i also got a large flag which is still hung on my wall. I think i was about 5/6 at the time.

I'm just thankful the majority of games i went to after that one have been victories to the teams i was supporting.

I drove an automatic car for the first time ever yesterday, up until then I have only ever driven manual cars. It was such a weird experience, having to fight the impulse to reach down and change gears, the whole left side of my body felt so left out and unneeded lol!2013-07-21 01:58:00

Oh yeah, you just reminded me I actually have something for this thread too...

- First time ever driving a car: My dad took us to an isolated country road, and told me to drive for a few meters. It was an manual, so I stalled some times.
- First time driving on the road: Was on my first driving class. The teacher thought I was good enough to drive on the street, and I only stalled once! On an uphill! With a line of cars behind me!
- We have two cars, the small manual jeep and the large auto SUV. One afternoon my dad allowed me to take the jeep for a drive around the block, and right after allowed me to take the SUV.

All that and I'm still waiting for my proper license. Bureaucracy sucks.

I can't get my head around automatics, I'm not sure I could trust a car to do most of the work for me And what are you supposed to do with your left leg? My car likes to advise when to change up and it never matches up to what I'm actually doing, especially on hills where it's completely wrong. So I certainly wouldn't want a car that actually changed gear for me, how do they ever make it up hills?

Oh, this thread is about firsts? Well, sticking to the subject of driving and gear changes on hills, I accidentally pulled off from some lights in third gear the other day...going uphill. I'd never done that before. There was a massive lorry right behind me so instead of thinking about what had happened I just floored it as soon as I realised I was about to roll into him. Luckily I was turning off straight away so I just about managed to get round the corner without killing anyone

Safe to say you don't live in San Francisco.
After properly learning how to drive manual, auto doesn't feel right. I want to buy a luxury car in the future, and have it customized for manual.
