Playing Through Older Games?

Archive: 16 posts

So, today I was bored and decided to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I've never played it before, but have heard good things about it. Have any of you been playing through an old game recently?2013-02-24 23:17:00

I just recently bought a whole buch of Nintendo consoles, and have played Spuder Smash Bros., Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye, Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and more. I do own Ocarina of Time, but I'm not a huge Zelda fan. I also own Majora's Mask. Now I'm thinking of getting a Genesis.....2013-02-25 00:04:00

scince the spyro trilogy finally arrived on EU PSN I've been playing those games again on psp. I was suprised by how well the games hold up today actually, I was expecting to get an unpleasant supprise but they look beautiful on the psp screen, play just as well as they always did and were definately worth the ?8 I spent re-buying them. get those games!!2013-02-25 17:10:00

Yeah, the original Spyro Trilogy ... That was the fastest rush to the games store ever.
Saw it on the PS store and got a PSN Voucher right away.
Been playing the remastered Final Fantasy aswell, it's not bad either.

I've been playing through Final Fantasy VII. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I'm still only on the first disc though... :

My 3DS has a bunch of the original NES and GB Games, Like:

The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Super Mario Bros.
Metroid
Metroid II: The Return of Samus
Kid Icarus (3D Classics)
Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters

And It's not necessarily old, But I've been working on 100% Half-Minute Hero (PSP) It's got old 16-Bit graphics, so I count it as a retro game

any one know if FFix is worth a shot? It's the only FF I'm intrested in at all, I was just wondering if for someone who isn't blinded by nostalgia the game is any good? If it helps I play and love breath of fire 3 and 4, so dated story, graphics etc are fine by me.2013-02-27 19:29:00

I've been playing the Sly Trilogy thanks to a price discount on the PSN store.
I liked the first game and I loved the sequel! Right now I'm playing Sly 3!

Yeah it's good pity you missed the sale a few weeks ago.

I only ever played the first game. Awesome game though. I had loads of custom rollercoasters that I'd made.

Replaying my all time favorite game, Tales of Symphonia. Only this time, I'm playing on Mania the whole way through.

Four hours in, and I'm only at the Sylvarant base.

This will take a while... XD

I am somewhat of a vintage game enthusiast. I own a Famicom, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Dreamcast, and a PS2.

Most recently, I have gotten in to playing the earlier Devil May Cry series, as well as Rare's N64 catalog, as that contains some of the greatest platformers ever made. I have also been attempting to play Dragon Quest on my Famicom, but as I cannot read Japanese, it is a bit of an ordeal having to translate everything.

My favorite vintage game is Super Ghouls N Ghosts for the Super Nintendo. I consider it the pinnacle of gaming, and a great and challenging title that anyone should try.

Not really too old, but I played through Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door last month. Awesome game, though Super Mario RPG is much better imo.2013-03-09 15:05:00

Yes, Super Mario RPG is fantastic. I picked it up from a mom and pop vintage store for about $40 as a Christmas Present for my lady and I. It is fun as heck.2013-03-09 15:21:00
