One of my published levels is gone... for good

Archive: 15 posts

I copied it back to my moon to make a couple edits and it failed to load. No big deal, I thought. I go to try and play it... failed to load.

The whole thing's gone. I have no back up of it.

I've recently started getting a little burnt out on trying to work within the confines of the thermometer... and this was the nail in the coffin. The straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm done with this game if I can't fix it. I can't take losing anything to this bug anymore. There's a comment on the page from not too long ago, but I still can't play it, copy it, move it... nothing.

Join the gang, I also don't like this game FOR NOW.

I am patiently waiting for the 1.08 patch, I recommend you do the same, this game is too good to just "quit."

Trust me, it doesn't get as bad as your level magically doing stuff for you while you're asleep and your PS3 is turned off...2009-01-22 05:59:00

I'm basically done with the create portion of the game too, but for different reasons. Namely realizing how much more freedom Fallout 3's GECK gives you. It sucks that you lost that level though, it was a really good level.2009-01-22 06:08:00

(not trying to boast btw) I've never really had any major problems with the 1.07 patch :|
But I ALWAYS have at least one back up
And what do you mean copy back to your moon to edit?
Don't you just edit it on your moon then republish it back over?

Some people just publish one and delete it on their moon, so their profile isn't getting too full.

Be wise, think twice.
I've also never had any problems with it.

I've only started getting weird save problems when I bought the MGS pack. The whole time before that my game was perfectly fine. Not sure if that's causing the problem but I would suggest people who are planning to buy the MGS stuff to wait until patch 1.08.2009-01-22 23:01:00

You all should get a game to tide you over. You're just a bit cranky. May I recommend....Prince of Persia? 2009-01-22 23:12:00

I do need to get back to PoP. It was awesome.

I have to delete levels from my moon. I have like 12 levels published, and 4 works-in-progress published and locked for back ups - but in order to work on levels and create new ones, I can't have the 12 published ones on my moon.

I used to always keep them, but about a month ago, I hit my 20 max publish, and the profile msg was constantly driving me nuts and making the game unplayable... so I just had to forgo my better judgement and delete my levels from my moon. They have to allow us more storage space and fix this problem.

This is the reason I've decided not to create anything until the Summer. I'm going to draw sketches until then.

Thing is, you can't play a game that doesn't work half the time. So why not just create sketches of what you want to do after it's fixed. That's what I did during the days before LBP even came out, and it works like a charm. This was before I even knew what tools I had to work with, so you can imagine how much better my sketches will be now that I know what I'm playing.

My level also corrupted two nights ago. Luckily, I had a backup online and an extra one on My Moon. I did lose a day's worth of work, though. Now I'm just taking it easy, doing little by little, and also backing it up on my Memory Stick.2009-01-23 05:32:00

Well, you can't copy individual levels. But you can copy the entire save profile and game data files, which would include anything on your moon.

Maybe some day they will get better save file sizes.
