Coin Scoop'em Up: An Exercise in Avarice
Archive: 9 posts
http://lbp.me/v/j767q2 Another top-down competitive woozle, this time revolving (ha, pun) around a group of cash dispensers. They spew delicious gold upon you, and it's up to you to gather it all. Some competitive elements are also included - the ability to push your foes off of the edge of the arena using the Boost, and King Midas' participation in the collecting about a minute in. And it's all to the cheerful tone of Casino Night Zone (and Casino Fright Zone). Hop in with a buddy/nemesis/rival and gather up the riches! http://lbp.me/v/j767q2 | 2013-02-23 21:05:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |

tossed into the queue it is. Added to the queue. Sounds pretty neat! thanks, you queuers! ...I promise never to pluralize queue ever again. Merely looking at it just seems wrong. | 2013-02-24 04:51:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |
I didn't help out with this one at all so it's probably tolerable. Queue'd I guess! | 2013-02-24 04:57:00 Author: bonner123 Posts: 1487 |

I'll put my queue in this. Queueception? | 2013-02-24 19:38:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |
LMAO! Well I hardly dare say that I've actually played this as opposed to just queuing it but there you go! It was a lot of fun. Simple but definitely a good playing experience. I'd quite like to see some more hazards thrown into the mix but then I might just have had very polite opponents who weren't hell bent on sending me flying out of the ring all the time. Cool, I had fun. | 2013-02-24 20:02:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |

Cool, I had fun. My attempt to resolve the issue of the lack of hazards was to introduce Midas around the halfway point. The idea was he'd recklessly grab the dollars (which he still does) and actively seek to push players around in the process. In initial testing, I gave him the logic that would send the player flying upon contact, much like a vehicle boosting into another, but that proved to be bar too effective at doing nothing but knocking the player about. It was unfun, so I therefore removed it. Other hazard ideas I was probably just too lazy to implement - as you've said yourself this level isn't the most complex thing around. | 2013-02-25 04:39:00 Author: SLS10 Posts: 1129 |
