Who's getting the PS4?
Archive: 32 posts
<3 I love Playstation but im just not sure whether to buy the PS4? Firstly it's probably going to cost the world. With all the new features included (like the touch pad, shown at the meeting) it's hardly going to cost under ?/$300. Are you going to buy the PS4? How much will it cost? I'll be pre-ordering mine next month! | 2013-02-22 15:33:00 Author: Lbphart3 Posts: 813 |
Maybe when there is actually something I want to play on it that won't play on my ps3... Until then, nope! | 2013-02-22 15:41:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
I'll wait for games and price cut to around ?200-?250 before I even consider it, with exams and that it'll likely be an uneeded distraction anywho. | 2013-02-22 15:47:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |
I'll be getting one, probably on release, but it depends on the launch games as always. No point getting it if there's nothing you particularly want to play. Either way I'm sure I'll be picking one up quite soon after it's comes out here. Lots of amazing games shown so far, and more to come no doubt. | 2013-02-22 16:24:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |
Knack looks alright Heres the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=q59tHyhDMkI | 2013-02-22 16:36:00 Author: Unknown User |
One of the titles I'm most interested in is the one from MM that they didn't name. The ability to create your own 3D world in what appears to be an incredible amount of detail, clearly this is the next step from LittleBigPlanet for them. The potential from this title seems mind blowing to me, and I'm looking forward to hearing more on it and I hope it comes out close to the release of PS4. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a37/Blibble/PS4-Move-sculpting_zps9c849af8.png | 2013-02-22 18:16:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |

Ouch. I must admit I did have some major lag while it was streaming. I assumed it was a game in production from what I saw. Still excited to see what they come up with anyway, looks very impressive. | 2013-02-23 00:04:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |
For the umpteenth time, it wasn't a title, IT WAS A TECH DEMO. How many people were actually paying attention? I'm pretty sure that the game is going to be exactly like that. You do whatever you want, it won't be a game per say, you just build whatever you want, do whatever you want. | 2013-02-23 00:38:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |

Once MM confirms it, we can say for sure. Until then, it'd be great if we did our best to not propagate innacurate information. | 2013-02-23 01:06:00 Author: SnipySev Posts: 2452 |
I'm divided between PS4 and PC gaming. Unfortunately the console will probably cost more than a small car in Brazil (stupid taxing policies! ) | 2013-02-23 01:28:00 Author: gdn001 Posts: 5891 |
I'm most likely going to get one for Christmas. | 2013-02-23 03:32:00 Author: amoney1999 Posts: 1202 |
Really depends on the price. The max I'll probably go is $450... so about €400. Really liked the presentation though and got me excited for the console and for e3 . And for what M$ bring to the table! | 2013-02-23 03:34:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |
I'll probably get it though I might wait a few months for a price drop. I don't think it will cost as much as the PS3 did at launch since Sony has stated they want to be more competitive against Nintendo and Microsoft so they can't afford making the PS4 cost to much or they risk another slow start into this console generation. Either way I'll wait for the price drop since there usually is one in the first few months. Don't really have a backlog of video games, just a few I want to get that come out this year but I've managed to keep up on my games this generation. | 2013-02-23 05:25:00 Author: argetlam350 Posts: 212 |
Once MM confirms it, we can say for sure. Until then, it'd be great if we did our best to not propagate innacurate information. I think you need to relax mate. Anyway, if you watch the video again and listen to what he says, it's strongly implied several times that the sculpting tool will be available to everyone, and that begginers and experts will enjoy using it. And he goes on to say what they will allow players to do and how easy it will be to create a world or their dreams. I appreicate it may not be near it's final stages, but they've made it pretty clear there is a large part of a game here. If you don't wish to interpret it that way then that's your decision but please don't instruct us what we're allowed to think. Thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYY-J3ckeSI | 2013-02-23 09:22:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |
Just consider it a tech demo for now, it may become a game eventually but there's alway impressive things presented at the unveiling of new hardware that either end up being scrapped or become something else. | 2013-02-23 09:41:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |

I know, games sometimes get scrapped as well unfortunately. Or receive huge changes unexpectedly. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. | 2013-02-23 10:15:00 Author: LieutenantFatman Posts: 465 |
Once MM confirms it, we can say for sure. Until then, it'd be great if we did our best to not propagate innacurate information. It's not inaccurate information. Listen to what Alex says throughout the entire presentation. "You will be able to build sculptures." "You will be able to do this, do that." | 2013-02-23 19:47:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
Been putting off getting a new PS3 because I figured this would be getting announced soon, the only thing disappointing is the apparent lack of any backwards compatibility, hopefully it does play PS3 games, time will tell I suppose. | 2013-02-24 01:45:00 Author: JamesDNaux Posts: 757 |

Welp, if the PS4 can't be backwards compatible with PS3 games and won't allow you to stream them or buy them off PSN, (or if you want psychical copies still) I'd say the PS3 is still worth the cost, at least it was for me. | 2013-02-24 03:12:00 Author: Dragonvarsity Posts: 5208 |
I bought the original PlayStation at launch (pretty good), the PS2 a few years into its life (amazing), the PSP at launch (pretty good), the PS3 a few years into its life (amazing). Value of ownership and variety of play hits its sweet spot a few years after launch. You get the same product but better. The redesign, the discount, the expanded games library, the features everyone wanted but took time to implement or were implemented in response to strong demand backed by a loss/gain in market share. The really great thing about buying a few years after launch is that there are no new fanboy arguments. Whatever people's enduring complaints, they are a known quantity. Much easier to parse true appraisals of the product from the platitude bullsqualkers. Getting the PS3 in 2010 has been the best experience of all my Sony buys. My brain says I should wait until Q4 2015 on the PS4. But I also want to celebrate how happy I've been with a late stage PS3 by being an early adopter this go round. I'm due for it, too. Hmm. Also: very excited about Watch Dogs. If it also weren't coming to PS3 (and everything else) it'd probably be my killer app. It's going to be fun to flip flop around emotionally as info trickles out over the next 6 months. No idea where I'll land in Q4. This is fun! <3 | 2013-02-24 04:54:00 Author: Unknown User |
I am going to hopefully get one for Christmas. 3 things stood out to me though. MM's sculpture creator thing, WatchDogs, and InFamous: Second Son. Since I kind of grew up with LittleBigPlanet, I'll surely check out what else MM has to offer. I like the idea of WatchDogs. Being able to hack into people information seems cool, and since there's a karma bar (Like InFamous) You can most likely choose your path. I'll be a good guy, because I feel it's more of a challenge, since you have to prevent yourself from blowing stuff up. Infamous was a good game, and although I only played the second one, I couldn't put it down. I beat it in one weekend, playing it until I woke up, to when I went to Sleep, and I enjoyed the whole thing, so I will definitely pick it up. The features of the PS4 were awesome, like the one where you could download games WHILE you play them. I always wait for hours doing nothing while my games download, so this is going to be great. Being able to get your friend to help you out during a part in a game sounds cool, too. I think it wrecks the point of overcoming challenges, if you just make your friend do it, but it surely makes it easier to connect to online friends, and have a good time! | 2013-02-24 15:47:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |

Definitely on my Christmas list this year. Personally, I can't wait until it comes out, but I hope a few more games are announced (mabey at E3) that could be bundled with the PS4 at launch so there could be a bit more variety, but if not, InFamous Second Son looks quite good. | 2013-02-25 07:48:00 Author: themaxus Posts: 90 |
I would guess we'll see an uncharted 4 at e3, sony know the deal with that series. also, an lbp3 announcement or glimpse, but I doubt we'll see the game 'till at least next summer. | 2013-02-25 17:12:00 Author: Smudge228 Posts: 533 |
For the umpteenth time, it wasn't a title, IT WAS A TECH DEMO. How many people were actually paying attention? I wonder why he said you'd be able to share your sculptures online and build levels at the click of a button if it was 'only' a tech demo. This was a tech demo of but one feature of their upcoming game. Mark my words. | 2013-02-25 18:52:00 Author: GribbleGrunger Posts: 3910 |
Just had an idea after seeing that the Uncharted 3 MP is now free-to-play and the single player is up for sale on its own on PSN. Having no interest in MP myself, wouldn't it be great if new games could be bought on PSN at a reduced price for just the single player with maybe a MP trial that you could upgrade if you liked it? And vice-versa also, the MP with a demo of single player! Never gonna happen but the extra choice would be great. | 2013-02-28 15:58:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |
It might have been a tech demo, but is there really any doubt that they showed what their next game will be like with it? Its pretty obvious this will be the key concept of their new title. And yes I will get a ps4, its just a matter of when they can get a couple games to shelves that I want. | 2013-03-02 05:12:00 Author: Jrange378 Posts: 573 |
