4-4-0 Steam Locomotive (http://vita.lbp.me/v/b8w6g)

So, today I got bored and decided to build the very first fully functioning steam locomotive on LBP Vita. Hurrah!
The level's not much, just a desert i threw together in a few hours for the train, but I still think it looks really nice for a one day project!

This level was heavily inspired by the awesome AngusMcCrock's Steam Locomotive (http://lbp.me/v/7q86f0) level,

The engine + tender combo!
The passenger car and caboose!

Hope you enjoy it, as this level was super-fun to make and really made my day go by quick as greased lightning on steroids! 8D

Wow! This is a seriously nice looking level!! I say 'level' it's not exactly got much in the way of game play, but I actually enjoyed just traveling from one end of the screen to the other the train looks amazing, but so does the sceney! I LOVE the start as its sitting in the station!

You thought about adding some game play? How about a gun site that you use to shoot various objects on your journey? Indians, barrels, cacti, oh you know what I mean.... Turn it into a rolling shooting gallery to add so replay (make the train no controllable) and you would be onto a real winner here

Love it, hope you add more !!!

Oh,and you tried to join me as I was testing, sorry, if I'd known who your were I wouldn't have rejected you!

Thanks for the input! Yea, I actually just pulled a nice update on the level, and I will continue to "populate" the level more and more as time goes on. There is now a sign in the beginning that shows the population of the town (which is actually the number of players), as well as some cacti too. I'm currently thinking of a way to add gameplay, such as a menu that chooses which experience you want- leisurely drive or a shooting game like you said.

And yea haha I was a little saddened by the fact that I was rejected on my own level but it's fine! I don't mind
That set aside, I liked your review as well! :3

Your sig sure is right, you are a train creator! Although I'd add 'master' to that, because this train looks awesome. I loved the little touches like having the bell and the whistle, and even a reverse (although there wasn't much need for it)! Visually it's stunning, very little you could add (I just played it, so I saw the new additions, the population sign was very nice )

I agree with Shade+seeker that a little bit of action would have been cool, some shooting, or even something simple like having a section whre you have to reverse would bulk out the level a bit.

I gave it a anyway cos I enjoyed it a lot

Looks awesome! I wonder how difficult it would be to actually make a full functioning steam engine in LBP powered by pressure from emitters...2013-02-24 20:18:00

It wouldn't be too hard, but it would use tags in substitute of steam. The piston would have two movers on it, and there would be a respective tag sensor for each. These would be set to increase in signal strength the more tags there were for that sensor. Then, you would just have to have either activation logic for a bunch of tags, or an emitter which emitted the number of tags required. Then you would hook up your speed increase logic to the (activation logic or emitter) "steam", and set the movers' input option to speed scale. Then the really complicated part would be building a fully functioning gear that would keep the wheels from switching directions at the wrong time, but that's the main reason I don't make locomotives like that. :arg:
