multi-player game play with sackbots.

Hey guys I am making a level where the player needs to be controlling a sackbot. i have been running into some problems... One of my problem is that the screen can pull away and kill the player using the controlanator. and since there are no actual checkpoints he is just dead and this really hurts the game play... Also I am finding that re-spawns are really confusing and kinda glitchy... my main problem is the screen getting pulled away. does anyone have an idea to fix this? please help!:star:

PS I dont want the level to be a vs style game!

Is the player stationary, or does the player follow the sackbot using a follower? If they are following, they shouldn't die.2013-02-21 01:33:00

hey the player is in a controlonator that is following the sackbot. The problem is if player one is ahead of player two and player two is being cut off from the screen resulting in player two's death.2013-02-21 02:10:00

Not sure how to fix the checkpoint problem but I don't think there is any way way to fix them being killed once off screen. That is how mm programmed the game. For example in multiplayer if any player is off screen for five or so seconds they automatically die. I haven't seen any levels that do otherwise. That could also be the reason why a player dies when the camera goes to a spawn point. My only suggestion is to move the camera out and make the players stay together.2013-02-21 04:32:00

I know you said you don't want to make it a VS level, but it's the only way for players to be "off camera" without dying.2013-02-21 15:10:00

Hmm...
Alas, there is no way to have a seperate camera for each player unless the level is versus. However...If you make versus, you could have the following setup-
As players start the entrance gate destroys. at the same place as where the entrance destroys have a chip with a player sensor on it. as the player passes this point he activates a tag. this activates the follower on an off screen spawn gate. The spawn gate will move to this tag location.. the player continues, untill he passes another tag further on (same tag), the follower on the spawn gate senses this tag and moves to this new tags location, and so on.

So, essentially, the level only has one gate, so all players will always spawn at this gate (like the sequential gates in coop mode).
As the lead player passes a new tag location, the single spawn gate follows to the new place.
I can elaborate, if this helps.
