Becoming a moderator.

So, just cause I didn't have anywhere else to post this, does a person level up to a mod, or do you actually have to work for LBPCentral? | 2013-02-19 23:41:00 Author: qwerty123456 Posts: 309 |
Well from what I've heard... and I'm sure it's 200% accurate, you need to survive trial by fire... while baking cookies... under the ocean. Anyway, the good news is that this question never needs to be asked... the mods here are perfect the way they are | 2013-02-19 23:44:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
Basically, the current mod squad selects those who they judge worthy. At the moment, there are only three mods, plus their glorious admin who also does modly duties: Taffey (Our glorious admin, and the bane of all things peanut) Morgana25 Lady_Luck__777 Chazprime I once tried staging a coup to assume modship, but it seems peanuts are not a good military force. Due to them not being alive, and rather tasty I might add. But yeah, basically, only a few people ever become mods. And because I'm an evil maniac, I might as well let you know the truth: if you want to be a mod, chances are you won't be a mod. So if you were hoping you might be a mod someday, well, I'm here to crush your dreams until they are peanut butter. Mmmm... peanut butter dreams... | 2013-02-19 23:48:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Mods are grown in an experimental village hidden deep within the internets. Upon hatching they grow up and are trained as ninjas and in the art of putting out internet flame wars in a total of fourteen different languages. After completing their studies they are shipped out in lots of 7 where they finally show up on the doorstep of LBPC. A bit scary to open the box though.. Actually they are just selected after proving themselves quite worthy. | 2013-02-19 23:49:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Kill an existing mod and take their powers. | 2013-02-19 23:57:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
Kill an existing mod and take their powers. There can only be one! 1000th post and I make a highlander reference... for shame | 2013-02-19 23:59:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
Mods are chosen as needed. Things that are considered are: members that are level headed, respectful of other members, know the forum rules, have shown a commitment to the site and have a time commitment to give. These members are then approached to see if they are willing to be mods. @jw- You weren't suppose to tell. Step away from that box! EDIT: @ Rabid and David- That won't work. For every mod killed, 2 more appear. | 2013-02-20 00:01:00 Author: Lady_Luck__777 Posts: 3458 |
On a more serious note, just want to point out that some boards also have pseudo mods... The German board, site contests and community contests all have individual sets of mods who keep them tidy. However, we have nowhere near the power that the regular mods have and still rely on them for matters of importance. Same criteria above and more (such as speaking German or being a member of the Contest Crew) is required for these positions though... which require alot of time donationed towards central. | 2013-02-20 00:08:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |
I've heard that on February 30, Taffey is actually going to be hosting a contest where the winner will get hired by LBPCentral, and as a part of their sign on bonus, become a mod here on the site. Taffey talks about it at length in the most recent edition of the Pocket Moon Podcast. Here's a link to the episode : https://soundcloud.com/pocket-moon-podcast/episode36 Good luck. | 2013-02-20 05:50:00 Author: mr Radical 5601 Posts: 515 |
Secret contest held once a year by the admins. My advice: don't be afraid to get creative in the swimwear segment. | 2013-02-20 06:33:00 Author: Chazprime Posts: 587 |
Actually, you are all wrong. Taffey clearly states how to become a mod, an admin, and about twenty other things right here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=72000-Meet-the-Staff-IV/page4 Its the fifth one down. The green is Taffey. 8D | 2013-02-20 18:12:00 Author: gamerguy5432 Posts: 333 |

*Insert joke about a completely ridiculous origin story for mods here* | 2013-02-22 04:42:00 Author: Kalawishis Posts: 928 |
@ Rabid and David- That won't work. For every mod killed, 2 more appear. Just like the Hydra. Here's how you really become a mod: Go to Burger King and order a Big Mac. One in every ten purchases will give out an invitation to a PS4 competition, where everyone will play the PS4 (like seen in my avatar). The winner will be elected moderator of this forum. | 2013-02-23 03:58:00 Author: Apple2012 Posts: 1408 |
My advice: don't be afraid to get creative in the swimwear segment. I'm guessing that's how you got picked? If so, can I borrow your swimwear? | 2013-02-24 16:04:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |
If so, can I borrow your swimwear? You've been here long enough to know that we don't like copiers. | 2013-02-24 20:43:00 Author: Rabid-Coot Posts: 6728 |
You've been here long enough to know that we don't like copiers. Fine, I'll have you know that I've put together my own swim-suit. http://i48.tinypic.com/n6rfid.jpg | 2013-02-24 22:43:00 Author: TheMonkeyBlade Posts: 687 |
