Multiplayer level suggestions?

Archive: 9 posts

Hello LittleBigPlanet Central

I really really love the LBP game series, but I encounter a common problem everytime I play it with my girlfriend.
We can't seem to find a whole lot of good multiplayer friendly levels. I find it rather frustrating as I really want to play LBP2 with other people, so that they can join in on the fun .

My question to you:
Do you know a couple of good multiplayer levels for LBP2? If so, please leave your suggestions below!

Are we talking 2+ player platformers, or competitive/minigame levels?

There does seem to be an odd trend with people creating platformers then insisting the level is only for one player.
I get that the thermo does not take player count into consideration when you're in Create Mode, but it seems like the vast majority of platformers are not built with multiplayer party's in mind.
As for minigames and competitive levels, I could probably name a few if that's what you're looking for.

Shameless advertising:

Designed for exactly two players... works local or online.

Thank you for the quick replies!

Ostler5000: It doesn't really matter if the levels you got in mind apply to 2 persons or more, as long as they are multiplayer friendly. I'm searching for both competitive as well as cooperative levels.

I certainly agree that it is a very odd trend making 1 player only levels in a multiplayer game such as LBP

EDIT:

I hope it's okay that i Bump this. I was hoping to get some specific answers to my question

I had completely forgotten about this thread.

Well, I can only think of a handful of shared-screen multiplayer versus levels off the top of my head.
I love versus levels, but even I often neglect to consider many people play local multiplayer.

Heads Up (http://lbp.me/v/7e9cdt)
This is possibly the most well known 2+ player community minigame in existance. It's really bare, but alot of fun.
Hillyan Table Hockey (http://lbp.me/v/49rgf9)
Was one of my favourite submissions for LBPCs 2nd community contest. The contest was to create a multiplayer level, so perhaps you could try searching 'LBPC2' and you'll find all the entries for that competition.
There are loads, but this one I particularly liked.
Baaarmy Herding (http://lbp.me/v/0rehtj)
I thought this was great fun. This was made before the Toy Story pack, despite slight similarities to one of the TS minigames.

Hmmm. I need to start Hearting more stuff like this, as when I'm looking for good versus levels I can never remember anything.

Hobo Tossin' (http://lbp.me/v/08mk9x)
Best basketball level ever.
Sackbots, Sorted (http://lbp.me/v/x83knn)
A friend made this. It's pretty good. A take on basketball/sorting challenges.
Multitudinous Minion Mash (http://lbp.me/v/gpv80d)
This is one of mine. One player has to fight a bunch of baddies while the other players control the baddies.

Here's a level that requires intense strategy, for 2-4 players: http://lbp.me/v/cpmx0s (yes, this is also shameless advertising).2013-02-27 05:30:00

I'd recommend mine, but unfortunately, like Ostler said, I neglected to consider local multiplayer.

...I am however considering creating a sequel (doing some gameplay experiments) that will improve on many things, including local multiplayer.
